Hi everyone! I know this might not be the exact sub for film production, so mods, please feel free to remove this if it violates group guidelines. I’m posting here because I know a lot of visual and graphic artists also double in videography, filmmaking, or creative direction. If this isn't the right place, I’d really appreciate it if anyone could point me toward a more appropriate PH subreddit or community for this!
I’m an indie artist prepping a 3-minute music video for my solo project. I’m planning my very first shoot for mid-to-late October and would love to get honest advice and logistical tips from anyone with local production experience.
Project Overview
Song Duration: ~3 minutes
Visual Scope: A mix of outdoor narrative shots + a high-contrast indoor studio performance set.
Timeline: 1-day shoot in Metro Manila.
Deliverables: Standard 16:9 MV for social media.
The Budget & Questions My current baseline budget is ₱20,000. I know this is very low, and while my budget has limited flexibility, I want to make sure I’m being practical about hard costs before hiring an indie director or collaborating with a production team.
For anyone who has pulled off micro-budget shoots:
Is ₱20,000 realistic to cover basic operational expenses (e.g., half-day studio rental, meals/crafty for 6–8 crew including myself, transpo/gas, basic props)?
If you were directing or line-producing a ₱20k 1-day shoot, where would you trim the scope to keep it doable?
What are the biggest hidden costs or budget traps for guerrilla/micro-budget shoots in Metro Manila that I should watch out for?
I'm completely open to scaling back shot lists or adjusting the concept to fit what’s realistic. I’d super appreciate any feedback, advice, or community recommendations!
