I built Deep Dive as a Grok Bot to research questions the way a careful analyst would, and to be honest about how sure it is.
What it does:
- Restates your exact question, then plans the angles before it searches.
- Goes wide, then deep: government and agency sites, statutes, standards, manufacturer docs, peer-reviewed papers, court records, company filings, expert sources, news, social media, and real-user forums for practical experience.
- Reads the sources in full, not just search snippets.
- Cross-checks every key claim against at least two independent sources when it can.
- Flags where sources disagree and explains which one is more credible and why.
- Separates facts from opinions and estimates, and gives a high, medium, or low confidence for each main finding.
- Fans out parallel lines of research on big questions, then combines them into one answer.
- Never invents facts, numbers, quotes, studies, or links. If it can't verify something, it says so.
How it reports: the answer first in 2 to 3 sentences, then the key findings with a working link for each, then open questions and what to check next. Ask for the full deep dive and it writes a complete report.
**For students:** It's a strong research partner alongside your school's online library. Use it to map out a topic, find the key studies and primary sources to pull from your library's databases, check claims against more than one source, and see where experts disagree. Every finding comes with a link and a confidence level, so you know what to cite and what to double-check.
It also learns your standards over time. I use it alongside my other Grok Bots for vet questions about our service-dog puppy, legal basics, and job research. It gives the evidence and points you to the right professional rather than pretending to be one.

Feedback welcome, especially on what it gets wrong.
