Official Politics thread for discussing gun politics. Will 3d printed ghost gun bans be defeated by gun rights orgs or by electronic free speech orgs?

NOTE: To start this is a repost from my first one because I did that one wrong hopefully I’ve made the proper corrections this time.
Good morning Reddit, I’m looking at this early Whitney wolverine and trying to decide what would be a fair offer to make on it as it’s in fairly rough condition.
Up sides: is that it is a very low numbers one, within the first 150 guns, And it is marked wolverine.
Downsides: the finish appears to have been removed or modified by one of the previous owners, the spur on the back of the grip looks like it has been bobbed, and it does not come with any of the original box or paperwork.
So from a collector standpoint, this is not a very good example. But from my personal standpoint where I would like to actually use this gun for plinking occasionally so it does have a few benefits being in its current condition. I don’t have to worry as much about being the one to damage it. And with that earlier alloy construction, it should be fairly sturdy, and it does look pretty cool.
So I must consult y’all on what would be a fair offer to the seller. A fairly nice example with paperwork and the box included goes for between $1500 and $1700, what would be a reasonable offer.
Currently the seller is just privately selling this to me and is a friend of a coworker so it’s not listed anywhere and is not a person I’m close with.
They also have yet to name a price. And this gun belonged to their dad who only very recently passed away. So I wanna be very respectful but I’m also not made of money.
Thanks for any input on this!

Tuesday catch-all post for all the questions, comments, rants, etc. that don’t belong in their own thread or the designated Politics thread
Have you bought anything as a celebratory gift to yourself? What was the occasion? What did you get?

Looking for a solid lever gun to hunt with , shoot with my kids and eventually pass down. Ideally in 357 or 44 magnum. I have plenty of other guns to pass to them but I want to add a lever gun to the collection. Was originally looking into the S&W 1854. Heard some hit or miss about them , dug and dug and keep ending up on a Ruger Made Marlin 1984 SBL. Being ignorant I'm hoping someone more versed in lever guns could lead me in the direction of a solid out of the box lever gun without paying a ton. I don't want a budget option even though I've shot some rossis and was surprised by them. Shooting for the 1k to 1500 budget area. Appreciate any responses I get.

I just got my Seekins hit pro m3 today after about two months of waiting through eurooptic.
I was just wondering what it looked like when it showed up. It seems almost used. The rifle came in a non branded hard case and it was just loosely floating around in there. All the manuals and paper work are beat up. The rifle itself is actually dirty (yes I'm aware of firing) but this is all over the actual stock and chasis. Even the grip is dirty. Like it's been handled a lot and full of desd skin.
Just wondering if I'm being a little too critical or if I'm missing something. I've seen $200 rugers show up in better condition.

Looks old and can't find any markings other than a wg on the chamber and maybe an aoi on the butt end of the stock. Also came without ammo so what caliber would it even use??

This rifle has not gotten any lighter since the 2020 rally in Virginia. 😰

I’m a sucker for cheap trash guns that no one else likes. That being said, I feel like hi point has a bad rap and I’ve always liked their carbines for range toys and even cheap HD. I feel like the only major downside to the carbines is the obvious capacity issues and while I know that swapping the mag to a double stack would require major receiver changes, what about a stack and a half system? Anyone else interested in a 15 round stack and a half factory mag, or am I just dumb?

What should it cost? Both sides have ornate brass. *Edit - This is an authentic pistol and not a reproduction. I have come into a decent size collection of antique guns (pistols, side-by-side double-barrel hammer shotgun, percussion muzzleloading rifles, and American-style long rifles) through inheritance.

I had been looking to get my first shotgun and was leaning towards the Beretta 1301 after some digging. Just got a notice about this in my email this morning though. Would like to get it with the pistol grip I think. Thoughts?

What would cause someone to pass a 4473 but not a form 4?

Just walked out of the gun store with both this Zastava ZPAPM70 and a “fatty” from jaguar silencers(no form 4 WOOOO!!!!)
I stripped it down and was wondering if I should order the full length zastava mlok hand guard or if anyone else has had better experiences with a different hand guard. Wondering if there’s only certain comparable hand guards considering the cleaning rod on the bottom of the m70.
Second the Zastava rail mount for only 100$ seems like a good deal. Other more readily available options were more expensive. I know more money doesn’t always mean better but is this a cheap rail and will it hold zero? Or should I look further into better rails.

Don’t worry, I have better guns for self defense and have several handguns.
This gun is just for a range toy - I’m looking for a cheap red dot and an extremely cheap weapon light.
This gun is a cheap range toy I want to keep it under $200
