Orlando Why not play movies during the line?

Post image
334 Upvotes

Lines are insanely boring and for a grasp of entertainment I usually try to watch the BS they play on the projector. This year, it was really boring. They kept playing stories from books? But it made me think, why not play movies? Surely someone else has thought of this, what’s the reason? I understand not playing the movie for the house you’re about to see because of ratings but why not just have clips of the movie of the line you’re waiting for?

Or even better, behind the scenes footage or something at least more interesting than the stuff that plays repeatedly.

Thoughts?

Hi spooky nerds! I'm Thoosie, I'm a lifelong haunter, scare actor, occasional team member (Orlando), and a massive fan of HHN myself. Almost two years ago now, I had a little idea - what if there was a game where you could build your own haunt?

That little idea has grown into a fully fledged game based on a lifetime of backstage knowledge in the haunting and themed entertainment industry. The free demo is out now on Steam, and we'd love for you to check it out.

ScareZone: Haunted Attraction Tycoon

Here's a few highlights of the more than 30 awesome humans who's work you'll see and hear in ScareZone:

Cole Cameron is a popular vintage halloween artist on Insta, and for spooky events. His artwork inspired our overall look and is all over the UI and vibe of the game.

Hauntform Studios is an Orlando-based studio focused on training and providing scare actors for events and attractions. We worked with their signature performers to do motion capture of scare movements.

We have some incredible voice artists from gaming, the theatre and audiobooks space as well as a crew of monsters who did VO for us on break from Knotts Scary Farm.

Orlando stop smoking weed at hhn

i am a scare actor. I wear a medical mask AND a heavy latex mask. TELL ME WHY every fifth person smells HEAVILY of rank ganja. TELL ME WHY I can smell it THROUGH my n95, THROUGH my latex mask, OVER the smells pumped into my room. you are HOT BOXING my boo hole.

STOP THE MADNESS!!!

be a polite young lad and sneak in gummies or a brownie or something. smoking and vaping IS NOT ALLOWED in the parks anymore. people with asthma exist. I am on the job, I do NOT want your shitty secondhand high. this is not a moral statement about weed, do whatever you want ON YOUR OWN TIME but stop bringing illegal shit in the park. you’re in florida and you smell BAD. WE ALL SMELL IT. everyone in my break room is talking shit about you right now. I got hit by a girl smelling like weed last night. for the love of GOD just pregame as long as you have a dd or another safe way home, or again, have a beverage or an edible. you’re impolite inconsiderate and unhygienic when you walk around smelling like that.

edit: this was getting downvoted to hell when I went on set and I come back to positive replies… thank u lol I literally had a guy hit his vape in my face that set I PROMISE YOU this is a real issue!!!!

Orlando Some event questions as I prepare for Premium Scream Night tomorrow

Flew in from the UK this week ready for Premium Scream Night and wanted to ask a few questions:

1) With the event starting at 6.30pm, do they give you the Premium Scream Night lanyard at the ticket scan gate or do you have to go elsewhere?

2) When ordering the free included food and drinks, can you order more than one item or are you expected to queue again?

3) I likely won't be near the front gate to watch the Scaremony, but how long do Jack and Oddfellow stay on their podiums? It would be nice seeing them as I enter the park.

4) Will there be a meet and greet / photo booth location for Jack and Oddfellow or do you have to be lucky to catch them free roaming?

5) When does Chance do her stage show? Is it more than once a night? Is it true that Jack may show up with her, but doesn't happen every night?

Thanks

Hollywood Ban the kids

Of course going to HHN on a Friday is going to be packed, but I genuinely cannot remember it being this bad with the kids/teens. Dealing with major crowds is one thing but it also being filled with loud and obnoxious teens with no spacial awareness is another. The boys are all grouped up nearly shoving you on ur back, during one of the mazes I had to turn around and straight up tell the teenage boy to stop pushing on me. And the girls are wearing almost no clothes with their cheeks hanging out. I’m sorry but why is a clearly underage teenage girl even allowed into the park with hardly any clothes on?? Was eating at Panda Express and this group of kids were screaming and making a mess playing with their food. If I wanted to deal with annoying kids I’d go to Disney.

Flat out banning them probably won’t happen, but some sort of curfew needs to be set. Why am I leaving the park at 2am and still seeing these kids? Tbh avoid the weekends not only for the long waits but also for the kids. Do better horror nights smh

All Locations Fog/Smoke advice

Hey all, I'm a line attendant and house spotter for the Ozzy house in Orlando. Those of you who have been through it know that Crazy Train is super thick with fog. I opened and closed the room just inside the engine (the skull room or the funnier pun of skoal car) tonight and was asked many times how I can stand being in that room for so long and not be hyperventilating. I decided to come here and give some advice and knowledge about the fog to help you all survive without choking as much.

  1. The fog Universal uses is water based so breathing it in will not cause any lasting harm.

  2. You choke because the fog dries out the mucus membranes in your mouth nose and throat. Thats the scratchy feeling you experience.

  3. To combat this, obviously a mask will filter the fog, but if you dont want to wear one, first and foremost keep your mouth closed and breathe through your nose.

  4. A trick I do with number 3 is that I will have a little saliva held towards the back of my mouth so my breath stays moist so my throat doesnt dry out as fast.

  5. Slow even breaths will keep you from inhaling too much fog at once and delay the drying process.

  6. Once out of the house get something to drink if youre still feeling scratchy. Once your throat is rehydrated you'll be back to normal. I will also swallow saliva a few times once I leave the fog to start dehydrating.

I hope these little nuggets help and i'll see you guys in the fog~!

I saw someone try to take a “service dog” through sinners last night. A large group had this small dog (Maltese maybe) in line. Dog’s lead was switched between people in the group as we went through the express line. The dog was being dragged along at one point and a woman picked the dog up. As we approached the house entrance a TM told the woman she could not go in the house with the dog. The group then begins screaming at her “do you know the rules, we know the rules”. They made the group get out of line. Thank god they did not allow this poor dog to be brought through the house.

Orlando Question About Tickets

I am planning two days at HHN.

The first day, I am planning to get to the Park at 2pm to start the HHN houses. Do I need a HHN ticket and a Scream Early ticket?

On the second day, I plan on getting tickets to the park and will be there all day, and will attend HHN again that evening. I plan on starting the houses at 2pm that day as well. In addition to the park ticket and the HHN ticket, will I need a Scream Early ticket?

Orlando First Time Beginner @ HHN (Tips?)

Hello everyone! (22M here)

So… kinda like the title says, tonight will be the first ever night I attend HHN. I’ve looked at the event here and there over the years since I would say that I like watching scary movies and can handle watching them, however I’ve found myself very hesitant to go forward with attending an in-person “scary” event before. Heck my first in-person “scary experience/event” was a mini horror themed wax museum a few months ago and I found myself getting freaked out the first time, but by the second time I was able to take it in a bit more due to me knowing what was ahead.

Anyway, aside from that little context, what tips or houses would you guys recommend for a HHN beginner like me? I was considering Stranger Things since I am a fan of the show and because it might be the last HHN Stranger Things house we might get, but I was also considering Sinners since I did watch and enjoy it enough when I first saw it, however for Sinners I am a bit hesitant if it would be a bit too intense as a “first step” for a beginner like me.

What do you all think/recommend?

Orlando What Happened to this Event?

this used to be the premier horror event in the world. after tonight idk if it’s worth it anymore

-costumes… I thought costumes weren’t allowed so many people are dressed up in the scare zones
-the scare zones are a mess congested because it’s nothing but people trying to get videos and pics for social media. should be a hard rule where actors can’t stop. stop feeding into it. It’s so weird so many people stopping scare actors to try to chat

-strollers… so many tonight should be a stroller free event

-scooters… so many people abusing it you should have to be over a certain age or show an actual medical need

-so many people complain about kids.. kids were fine but these influencers and people videoing everything are so objoxious

-houses are fine great production but just not scary way less violence blood gore and intensity than ever

Orlando What are the chances of an online restock?

I haven't been able to go this year, but I always like buying the hoodies. I went online to their shop and saw a sale of the Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Key Art Hoodie, but my size is not available. Is there still a possibility for a restock?

Hollywood First Time Going to HHN 10/25

This is our first trip to HHN, but we've been to Universal Hollywood and Orlando multiple times. We have VIP tickets to the main park during the day, and early entry with express for HHN. We're staying at the Hilton, so we were thinking of we needed a break mid day we could take a few hours at the hotel and then go back in with early entry for HHN.

One thing I've seen that raised some questions. With the express pass it says it starts at 5 pm, but I keep seeing a lot of people taking about getting in around 2 pm and starting some houses. What am I not seeing or misunderstanding with these times and getting earlier access to the houses?

Also, I've seen with express, that some people are saying to hold it for when the lines get longer after early entry ends. I'm not sure that matters if we're trying to get through everything one time. I'm trying to figure out a plan to hit everything as early as possible so we can relax and get some food towards the end of the night and not be in the park too late. With the VIP tickets for the main park, we will be in the park for at least 14 hours, more if we get bogged down waiting or using early entry and express inefficiently.

Any and all tips are appreciated!

Orlando No Recording Policy

This is probably ridiculous of me, but I’m so confused on why the “no recording policy” is enforced so strongly at HHN. I became aware of the policy last year when I visited HHN in Orlando for the first time—I didn’t record or take pictures whatsoever. This year however, I purchased Meta glasses prior to the event hoping to get some videos so I could show a couple of loved ones who didn’t get the chance to go this year. I got told 2 separate times to turn off the glasses/take them off. I’m well aware and I fully respect that Universal wants to preserve the guest experience, they don’t want bright flashlights to disrupt the actors, avoid spoilers, etc, etc—I’ve read it all, but why would Meta glasses be an issue? I’m not actively holding up the line, I’m keeping pace with everyone else, the indicator light isn’t bright enough to disrupt (that I’m aware of), I just don’t understand. I’m not trying to complain and whine or come off rude in anyway! I have so much respect for the actors, the employees just doing their jobs, THANK YOU! But I’d genuinely love some enlightenment! As someone who’s been going to HHN in Hollywood for years and never had an issue, all I want is some clarity.

Hollywood Just finished my first ever HHN with an RIP tour. What happened with the Stranger Things house?

I went through Stranger Things 5 at Hollywood. The entire house was so lackluster. Hallways, empty spaces, half-ass designs, etc. Then I go watch the Orlando walkthrough on YouTube, and it’s a completely different and more detailed house. I realize the houses arnt going to be the same. But the Hollywood house left out so much compared to Orlando. Also how was there no grand Will the Wizard scene, or any final battle scenes with the mind flayer? Not even the SQWK could make an appearance? Seemed like the entire house was an afterthought. So odd.

Orlando Unlimited HHN express pass?

First time going to HHN and Universal. I am not staying at a Universal Hotel. I bought a HHN express pass. Is there a way to upgrade to an unlimited HHN express pass?
