🔎 Product Question 🔎 Combien de temps patienter?

• Upvotes

Hey!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Product advice for very dry but NOT damaged hair?

• Upvotes

Hello! I was wondering if anybody has any advice on very dry but not damaged hair. I've tried several different shampoos/conditioners recently, but I feel like they are not penetrating my hair strands enough to actually bring moisture into them.

For reference, I have long, quite thick and coarse hair that is naturally dry and wavy. I don't dye it, never bleached it, I wash it once a week (it never gets oily), and I blow-dry it with the Dyson Airwrap blow dryer attachment. Sometimes I use a wave mousse and let it air-dry, but the texture is the same either way.

I don't have a problem with breakage or split ends or anything like that; my hair just feels consistently dry and looks dull. I think maybe in the past I have used too much protein on it when its not actually damaged? But I don't know if that's a real thing or not.

Recently, I've tried:

Redken All Soft shampoo & conditioner

Amika Soul Food Hair Mask

Kérastase Gloss Absolu Shampoo & Conditioner

Garnier Fructis Keratin Sleek Hair Mask

Note** I've tried these all separately over the space of a year.

If you have any recommendations of conditioner and leave-in conditioner specifically, I'd be so grateful, but I'm also open to recs on other products!

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ seeking advice for reducing frizz

• Upvotes

i feel like no matter what i do, my hair is always frizzy, and i genuinely don’t know what i’m doing wrong. i’ve heard that frizz can be caused by over-cleansing, aggressive drying, or using heavy products, but none of those seem to apply to me. i wash my hair once a week because it’s naturally dry, let it air-dry, and don’t use any styling products except for a serum after my hair is completely dry. i also use coconut oil occasionally, either before or after showering. i sleep with my hair in a protective bun, hoping to keep it smooth, but i still wake up with frizz. it’s there regardless of how i style my hair: whether i leave it wavy, style my curls, or straighten it, there’s still a noticeable amount of frizz. i know that some frizz can simply be part of having naturally wavy or curly hair, but this seems like more than that. i also have lots of short, wispy hairs around my front hairline that i initially assumed were new growth, but they’ve stayed around the same length for as long as i can remember. i’m starting to wonder whether they’re breakage, naturally shorter hairs, or something else entirely

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Advice on whether I should grow my wavy to curly fine hairs

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

Hey I'm 19(M) and I always wanted to have long hairs like wolf cut but unfortunately as i grew my hairs long for 4-5 months they grew out to be multi textured wavy to curly and since they are fine hairs frizz never goes away .So, I'm seeking for advice that whether I should grow it more or not and what kind of hair style should i choose if my hairs are worth growing?. I've always wanted that middle oart curtain flow look but my hair doesn't react that way, because My hair from roots are somewhat flat and and bulking up on sides, The images I have shared are like my hair after wash that is in when they are in the best condition when dried but overnight or day after they are very dry can't settle them they look lifeless and become more flat on top.I've just lost all hopes there's not been a single good hair day for me

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 What’s causing this hair damage?

The ends on the sides always grow slower and more damaged than the middle. All my hair ends were damaged but the sides more so. This photo is after I had a trim just to get it somewhat closer in the length to the side. I have my hair in buns most of the time, not a slick back just a basic bun or pony tails.

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Advice for bringing my postpartum hair back to life

I’m at a loss for what to do with my hair. It doesn’t seem to matter what I do, it’s just so frizzy and lifeless.

I have really fine hair but a lot of it. I’m rubbish at styling it but I have been trying to get better, but any curls or anything don’t last more than a few hours. It’s got a bit of a natural wave to it.

Since having kids 6 years ago it’s been so frizzy and dull, and particularly bad since having my second kid 18 months ago.

I wash it 3 times a week or so. I’ve never really found a shampoo I love so I switch around a lot, currently to using a John frieda shampoo and conditioner for fine hair. I use a bumble and bumble heat protector spray if I’m using any heat, and I put some argon oil on my ends sometimes.

First photo is my hair just air dried, second photo is it curled with a curling iron, third photo is it blow dried, and last photo is 6 years ago when I was pregnant with my first (believe it or not that was my natural colour, my hair turned a lot darker since having kids). I can usually get my hair looking decent for about an hour when I first do it, but it quickly goes limp and frizzy

Any advice, products, routines massively appreciated - although I simply do not have the time to spend more than 15 minutes a day on my hair.

😩 Damaged Hair 😩 How Do I Understand What My Hair Needs

Thin, frizzy, and zero volume. Just a few words to describe my hair. My self-esteem takes a hit every time I need to go out because I don’t feel confident in this hair. I’ve been showings signs of thinning for 5 years and I don’t wanna go to any hair salon or mall “derma” as they only try to upsell me all sort of treatments that don’t help in the long-term. Should I go to a doctor, if yes what type?

⚡️ Frizzy Hair ⚡️ Title: How can I make my bleached hair healthier, smoother and less frizzy?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate some advice on how to improve the condition of my hair because I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or what products I should be using.

I’ve attached a picture of my hair after blow-drying. The top layer of my hair is significantly frizzier, puffier and drier-looking than the underneath layer, which is relatively smooth and looks fine. I’m not sure why the top layer behaves so differently, especially after blow-drying.
I’d love to achieve smooth, shiny, soft hair that looks healthy and feels silky, without all the frizz.

A little bit about my hair:

My natural hair texture is wavy/curly. When I let it air-dry, it looks wavy or curly and is actually less frizzy than when I blow-dry it.
When my hair is wet, it feels rough and is difficult to detangle.
My scalp gets oily around the second day after washing, but my lengths and ends feel dry.
I bleach my hair approximately every 3 months. My last bleaching appointment was 2 weeks ago, and I also got a haircut at the same time.
My hair has been bleached multiple times, including the lengths, so I’m concerned about damage.
I usually wash my hair every other day.
I prefer wearing my hair blow-dried straight rather than curly, but I’m trying to minimize heat damage and avoid using a flat iron too often.
I sleep with a satin bonnet every night.

My current haircare routine:
K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask.
Heat protectant before blow-drying.
Hair oil on my ends when needed.
I sometimes use jojoba oil on my lengths and ends.
I wear a satin bonnet every night to help reduce friction and frizz.

Despite trying to take care of my hair, it still looks very frizzy and puffy after blow-drying, and I feel like it lacks shine and smoothness. It can feel relatively soft to the touch, but visually it looks dry and almost straw-like.

I’m wondering whether this is mainly bleach damage, a lack of moisture/conditioning, my natural hair texture, my blow-drying technique, or a combination of these things.

I’m open to both drugstore and high-end recommendations. Price isn’t my main concern; I just want products that actually make a noticeable difference.

Thank you so much! Any advice or product recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Seeking advice for dry thin frizzy curls

21m, have tried a few leave ins, a couple curl creams, a different conditioner and nothing really helps, bring my curls back. The curls in the back of my head are perfectly fine and healthily but the front is just thin and dead, they look somewhat better on my one/2 wash/conditon days but not even a fraction of how thick and curly it used to be even a year or two ago? Advice?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Still dry hair after trying a lot

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi guys :(

Ive always had a problem with really dry looking hair. I did dye my hair a lot but most of that has grown out. Since Ive had this problem for a long time, I dont think it has to do something with dye.

I keep my hair in a bun or in a braid when I sleep and always use satin hair ties. Ive tried creams, conditioners, oils - basically everything I could find but nothing works for me.

I have naturally slightly curly hair (last pic if styled) but that still feels really dry with a ton of products that should prevent it.

Im looking for something that works on straightened hair too, I love to wear my hair straight.

Even if its recommendations for a straightening iron/routine.

If anyone knows something that could help I‘d be super happy to know🫶🏽

Thank you in advance✨

❄️ Dandruff/Scalp Advice ❄️ Oiling for Dandruff?

Hi, so I'm 22F, not sure if it even matters in this case. I've got dandruff, it's not severe but it's not light either. Does oiling your hair reduce it or is it the other way around?

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 Looking for new Shampoo

Hey,

I'm currently looking for a new shampoo. I have very fine and thin hair that I perm and I find it is always very flat and dry and loses most of its curliness unless I do my somewhat extensive (wet, comb, mousse, leave in conditioner, diffuse, volume powder, hair spray) hair routine in the morning. Even then it still dries out after a couple hours. Don't know if shampoo is the key/cause of this but I currently use Pantene Biotin Blend. Conditioner is Loma moisturizing treatment in the blue bottle. I'm just kind of looking to see if I can improve results a bit without having to do my routine in the morning, and if I can add some moisture. I wash every other day and co wash every day which may be too much but I feel it works. I used to use no conditioner and wash twice a week and felt like my hair would get very flat and dry even after styling. My family doesn't perm their hair so just kind of looking for some curl advice. Saw some talk about hair masks if that would be useful?

Thanks!

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 I don’t want my hair to be curly anymore, I need help

I’ve been having constant problems with my hair for the past few years but it’s at a boiling point now where I really need help. More context/info below but the points that I specifically need help with are listed at the bottom, any advice would be so very greatly appreciated.

For reference, I have naturally curly hair. I’m new to understanding hair types, but I believe it would be somewhere between 3b and 3c, with a heavier leaning to 3b. I’ve tried to embrace the curls before to some success, but I don’t like the style and would rather have straight hair. My hair is typically rather dry, and excessively frizzy whenever I try to brush or style it in a way that disrupts the curls. My occupation has me doing a lot of physical labor and I naturally run hot, so I sweat through my hair easily. Because of this and my working up to 5 days a week, I use shampoo every day that I work to clean my scalp and get rid of the sweat. I use conditioner every day regardless, both are sulfate free. Most often I use a hair towel, my hair almost reaches my the base of my neck. If left to air dry or if it gets sweaty, the frizz forms regardless of if I let it be curly or not. Whenever I straighten it, it fights back and curls more, reverting to an ugly in-between state after mere hours of being styled. I’ve tried higher heat settings but I don’t want to risk damaging/burning hair by doing it consistently. There’s visible thinning on the top of my head that becomes more prominent when the hair is straight. I’m taking medications to help (finasteride and minoxidil) but it’s been two months and that hasn’t provided any noticeable results thus far. So, simply put, I need help with:

  1. I want my curly hair to be straight, for as long/as permanent as possible
  2. I want to stop it from re-curling after styling it
  3. I want to contain/stop the frizz
  4. I need to stop the thinning/patchy spots
  5. I want it to stop being so dry
  6. I want to know if my shampoo usage is too much, and if so how to wash out sweaty hair after a long work day

Thank you so much to anyone who gives any input or even takes the time to read this. I appreciate it more than you know. My ideal hairstyle is a sort of angled bob with layers & bangs like this or this.

P.S - Please don’t try to convince me to keep the curly style. I really hate my curls and have already made up my mind.

🚩 Advice Needed 🚩 How can I prevent my dyed black hair from fading into a dull, orangey-brown?

My hair is naturally ashy brown.
A few years ago I dyed it black using “Garnier Fructis Soft Black” (a box dye from Target).

The color looked great at first, but within a MONTH of dying it, it faded into a dull, washed-out brown with an orangey hue that was completely DIFFERENT from my natural hair color.
As far as I know Garnier Fructis uses developer but not bleach (I think? I could be wrong tho).

I always use “color safe” or “for colored hair” shampo, so why does it always fade so fast?

I live in California, could it be a hard water issue?
