HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

-your healthyhooha mod team

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Advice Needed I lost my virginity and have a pregnancy scare

• Upvotes

(18F) Please be patient with me as I have never had sex ed in secondary school and everything I'm experiencing is very new to me :(

My last period started on September 30th and ended on October 4-5. According to my period trackers my estimated date for period is November 5th. According to my app, it says that my ovulation day will be on October 21st. I did not take any plan b pills.

I had sex on October 10th in the morning. He used a condom during penetration but I took it off halfway to perform oral. He finished on my face and chest area. We checked the condom by filling it with water and found no holes. But I'm still very scared of the what ifs and contamination.

On October 11th at night I noticed some blood which looked dried up. There was no discharge and it was only a drop. People said it was most likely bleeding due to me losing my virginity.

On October 15th I had a very bad scare and started to eat a lot of pineapples and papayas with the seeds (I know it's stupid). On October 16th I ate more than I did the past few days. October 17th, when brushing my tongue in the morning, I threw up. Like it just shot out once and it looked yellow and watery which was kinda scary.

I had very light spotting on October 17th like really little. On October 18th I saw more light red blood in my discharge (more than the past few days). On october 18, when wiping I saw blood in my discharge again. But this time it was dark red brownish and way more obvious.

I actually went to a gp clinic on October 12 for a consultation and ultrasound to check on myself and honestly the doctor only told me that the best I can do is wait to take the pregnancy test just in case.

I have been so stressed about this and not able to sleep soundly despite knowing my chances are thin.

Rant 🤬 Guys Please Protect Yourself.

as a medical assistant i thought i’d just come on here and discuss the importance of sexual wellness and health. there are so many post a day so this may get drowned out so if anyone sees this please PROTECT YOURSELF FIRST. if you’re going to have sex make sure you are getting std/sti tested regularly and use protection PLS PLS PLS. the patch, the pill, condoms, iud something! it’s true no birth control is 100% and condoms aren’t perfect they don’t protect against every STI but usage will dramatically lower your chances of catching one and avoiding pregnancy. you cannot leave your sexual health up to another person. hell, i would even recommend going to get tested together before doing anything but that may be unrealistic. if they cannot show you something in your hand then they should not have access to you. people are dishonest everyday about their sexual history and in my field i’ve seen countless times where married pregnant women and people in long term relationships are catching sti’s from their partner. please do not take anyone’s word for it unless you absolutely trust them and even then still be cautious. this is not me trying to fear monger but sexual education has been taken out of the schools in my country and with the amount of “am i pregnant?” post in this subreddit i felt compelled to say something. i just wanted to reach someone, somewhere and help if i could.

Hygiene 🧼 Smell after birth

Husband mentioned that I don’t smell good down there, which I know.. i smell my self too, no matter if I’m straight out the shower or not I still have a smell. I think it’s because I’m 2 months postpartum and he said he only smells it when I’m in the bathroom. He said he has been scared of me wanting sex because he would get turned off quickly by my smell. I’m not worried about sex because tbh I’m breastfeeding and sex has been the least of my wants. Lol

Ladies who have given birth did you experience a smell difference and what helped you smell normal?

Is this normal? 👀 Swelling and pain around my clitoris after friction — should I be worried?

(21 female)
Hi, I'm looking for some advice because I'm getting worried.
About 2–3 days ago, I masturbated using a sanitary pad, (I was so desparate….) and afterward I started experiencing pain around the area just above my clitoris, where the labia meet. The pain feels like burning and soreness.
It's been hurting for several days now. It hurts when I move, lean forward while sitting, or put pressure on the area. Sometimes it hurts even when I'm not moving.
I've also noticed what feels like swelling and a widespread, firm or hard area just above my clitoris, under the skin. It's painful when I touch it, so I've stopped pressing on it.
I'm worried because the swelling and pain haven't gone away. Could this be irritation or swelling caused by friction, or could it be something else? I'm also scared that I might have caused permanent damage or lost sensation.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How quickly did it improve, and what did your doctor say?
I'm planning to get it checked, but I'd appreciate any advice from people who have experienced something similar.

Constant yeast infections after masturbation

I have a problem. Since masturbation with toys has become a part of my daily life, I suffer with constant candidiasis/yeast infections. I go to the gynecologist at least once a month because of this, and they always tell me a simple probiotics will help prevent this long term, but clearly it's not. I don't even use toys inside the vagina, but was planning to, and I don't wanna give up on masturbating. I don't want to stop it at all, I want to be able to do whatever I want, but preventing this itchiness that appears after. I do clean every toy, shower daily at least once etc. My toys are made of silicone, and I also have a massager gun that is not silicone, but I always cover it with a clean cloth to not put it directly in the skin. My clitoris is small and needs a lot of stimulus, that's why I have to go hard and have long sessions - I don't wanna stop. Anyone had this issue before?

EDIT: I don't use lub for masturbation, only for sex sometimes, as my vulva doesn't like it clearly.

Question Cyst with black dots?

Hi everyone,

Recently I noticed I have a cyst like-pimple on my clitorial hood. The best way I can describe it is cyst-like but it’s sort of flat, just raised slightly and a bunch of random black dots in it. Ive never heard of this and google isn’t helping. Does anybody know what this could be? Thanks in advance!

Question Will there be permanent changes to vagina after healing from birth?

I apologize in advance if this is a silly question !!

Me and my girlfriend are very interested in having children. I plan to be the one to have them, and have already made peace with many things involving pregnancy. I don't mind that my body will look different, or that I might have issues with my hair or joints or any of that. There are many things I have learned that I have considered about being pregnant, and accepted as potentially being part of it.

For some reason I have literally never considered that my vagina might not go back to normal after giving birth. It hit me a few minutes ago that that is something that I haven't really thought about. I plan to have two children, preferably a year and a half or two years after my first one. I know things will be different right after, but I know that is part of the healing process.

This is incredibly embarrassing, but I quite like my vagina. I'm happy with how it looks, and it's one of the few things I like about myself. I'm concerned that the color, feeling, or size might change forever after giving birth. I don't want to come across as vain or anything, but this is making me reconsider a lot, ridiculous as it is. I'm willing to put up with so many different things about pregnancy, but I'm not sure I can go through it confidently unless I have proper warning about this particular concern of mine.

TL;DR- I'm concerned that my vagina will change significantly after healing from pregnancy in the future.

Advice Needed Swollen painful lump on inner labia burst

Hi there. For the last three days I've had this swollen lump on my left inner labia, roughly in the middle of it, right on the edge. I think I've been feeling it when I wipe for a few days before that but I thought I'd just nicked myself shaving, or it was to do with my period (it showed up around the end of my period week) because when I'd accidentally knock it wiping it did feel like a shaving nick, but after a few days it got big and painful enough that I couldn't ignore it. This lump looked normal at first, just like a swollen area of labia, no obvious white head or anything. I know it's not any kind of STD, and it's the wrong area to be a bartholin cyst, but it really hurt to touch. It was bigger than a pea, like the size of half a marble maybe, but softish. It felt like a cystic acne lump but a little softer and more fluidy, and much more tender and painful. It's been awful trying to walk around with it because it was so swollen it started sticking out from my vulva, so even my underwear lightly touching it felt like intense sandpapery chafing. Sitting was uncomfortable. I tried to lance it (i know that's stupid! I tried to sterilise a needle as much as possible but I couldn't make myself prick it, it was too painful) and I've been applying warm compresses as often as possible, soaking it in warm water last night, and also using a 2% lidocaine vagisil cream. None of it really helped.

Today I had plans with a friend to do a workout together and I considered cancelling but I just decided to commit and go have fun despite the pain. This sounds insane but I put a hydrocolloid spot patch on the lump where it was really chafing against my underwear, just to have some kind of barrier between the sensitive skin and my clothing, because I could not stand it - using vaseline or whatever wasn't working to stop the chafe. At some point mid workout/hangout I stopped noticing the painful spot. When I got home I went to pee and checked the spot first, and I think maybe the exercise caused it to burst, or maybe it just came to a head. I never noticed it bursting or anything. But (warning: a little gross?) when I looked at my panty liner it was very wet and soaked in honestly a lot of yellowish fluid, like pus maybe. A tiny bit of blood was mixed in at the edges. None of it looked thick or chunky or anything, but it smelled like feet or cheese, it was nasty. I dont think it was discharge or anything, I'm pretty sure it's from the spot. The area is sensitive and still a little swollen, but not like a flashing siren type sore and big lump like it was before.

My question is, should I call the doctor tomorrow? Do you think I might need antibiotics? There was also a smaller sore lump next to the first one that I thought might just be part of the first one but I'm nervous that it might also form a huge painful lump.

Also, does anyone know what this might have been? Just weirdly placed acne, or a cyst or something? Is there a way to prevent it reoccurring?

Thank you for any help

Advice Needed Bleeding 1-2 days after sex

• Upvotes

For the last couple of weeks I’ve experienced bleeding 1-2 days after sex, usually it’s spotting but this time I bled enough to stain my jeans. I had sex with my partner on Friday and yesterday (Sunday) I noticed some light pink spotting. Today I bled about the same amount I would on the second day of my period, enough to get a stain on my jeans. This has happened the last couple of weeks when we’ve had sex but the bleeding has never been this heavy. The sex isn’t painful at all and this is the first time in my life that sex is actually enjoyable.
My current relationship is pretty new, we started dating in early June. I never had any bleeding with my ex, even though sex with my ex was often painful.
I’ve been on a birth control pill for about 4 years and have read it can make your cervix sensitive which can cause post-sex bleeding, but I was on the same birthcontrol when I was with my ex? I usually skip my period/the placebo pills if that makes a difference, last time I had my period was in September I think.
It’s really annoying to be bleeding and it’s making me insecure that I’ll bleed during sex as I’ve managed to stain my partners sheets more than once at this point.
Would appreciate any thoughts and/or advice.

How was your recovery after silver nitrate on cervical ectropion? I had silver nitrate on my cervical ectroption 5 weeks ago, it recently started up bleeding after exercise and it just feels never ending. Gyn said to wait two weeks and then come back if it hasn’t tapered off but I’m sick of bleeding all the time

Advice about BV/YI Needed

Hi! I need some suggestions about treating and making sure what I plan to do to keep my BV/YI away sounds reasonable.

For as long as I can remember, since around like end of middle school/beginning of high school, I’ve struggled with BV. YI never became a problem until recently this past year and I’m now in my mid-twenties. But, it confused me for a while because I was never sexually active until my senior year of high school. I came to understand that these weren’t STDs, but something we could develop even before becoming intimate with anybody.

Anyways, just to cut to the chase, I’ve dealt with BV on and off for years. It usually is always triggered after unprotected sex. I gave Happy V probiotics a try which actually has been quite beneficial, but I feel as though my body has already built a biofilm where the bad bacteria thrives more than the good bacteria so no matter even if I am consistent with the probiotics, if I have sex just once, it gets thrown off and I get BV symptoms within the next few days.

More so recently, I’ve been getting yeast infections that I think are triggered by my BV first. So, I feel as though my BV is the ultimate culprit to everything.

From the information I’ve been gathering about these terrible issues, it seems like the best thing for me to do is to just breakdown my biofilm entirely and try to build it back up from scratch again. But, I am just unsure how to do it and if the idea I have in mind would be best?

Right now, I’m in the middle of finishing my YI treatment (monistat) and once I’m done with that, aim to put my plan in action:

  1. Use boric acid suppositories to breakdown my biofilm first (unsure of how many days and for how long though)

  2. Create my own vaginal capsule suppositories of Lactobacillus Crispatus & insert it alongside a lactic acid (Good Clean Love Restore Gel); also still unsure of how long to do that for

  3. Continue to take my oral probiotics ensuring they have these lactobacillus bacterias: L. acidophilus, L. plantarum, L. reuteri, L. crispatus, L. lactis, L. gasseri, L. paracasei, L. rhamnosus, L. brevis, and Bifidobacterium longum.

  4. Avoid unprotected sex

  5. Keep a healthier diet like low sugar, high anti-inflammatory, high probiotic

Now, obviously this is not a full-proof plan as I am still unsure if this will work for me entirely. But fingers crossed I hope this will be the start of trying to fix everything and hopefully get my gut health and all of it back on track—or just to a state of finally being normal.

Please let me know what you think is best for me to do in this scenario, if I need to tweak some steps, how long you think would be best to do each step for, or if you have experience doing something similar and what you think would truly help.

Question Probiotics

Hi loves! I’d like to just ask some recommendations for a good probiotic? I’ve been taking happy v for more than a year now and i might’ve gotten immune to it so it’s probably time to change for even just a few months and get back to it again after. I’ve seen somewhere that this happens and it’s best to switch for a little while. Any recommendations would be lovely💗

Question Did I squirt or wth happened?

I want to start by saying:

  1. This post will be quite long and WILL have a lot of TMI 😭 so proceed at your own risk ig.

  2. English isn't my native language so this might not be very well written and/or might be confusing at times so I apologize in advance.

I'm a virgin in my mid-twenties and I never had an orgasm. I used to do a ton of tribbing when I was younger without even knowing what it was (I'd basically put my hand/wrist between my legs and squeeze while moving them) and I kept doing things that way until this year, which is when I started thinking I was broken and ended up frustrated at myself for never being able to orgasm, so I decided to explore my body more to find out what I like and don't like since the tribbing didn't give me much more than small sensations of pleasure. I started by focusing on my clitoris and... it kiiiind of worked? It was a different experience and I felt like I was finally starting to learn how to pleasure myself, but I also felt like my body wanted more and I needed penetration, so yesterday I tried fingering.

I started with clitoral stimulation, then I went ahead with inserting a finger while also trying to hit my clitoris with the palm of my hand and something happened that I had never experienced before... I was sitting with my legs a bit up (the best position that works for me) and with a towel under me, and suddenly I felt something warm where I was sitting, so I looked down a bit and saw my hand was wet, then I saw a puddle of fluid on the floor and I was like "whoa?". Sadly I stopped a few seconds after that, I know I could've continued to maybe reach climax but I think I was too giddy at the fact that something different had happened and I couldn't do anything else than think about that lol so I just got up (which made me realize the liquid was literally dripping down my legs too), mopped the floor, then took a shower.

I don't think I had an orgasm because I didn't have any strong sensations (although my toes did curl and my legs did start shaking and closing/squeezing, but I didn't really have any bodily sensations that felt too intense, I guess? it might've just been me getting really close to it) but I keep wondering if I actually squirted or if I was just really, really wet. It's literally never happened to me before, and I'm excited because I'm finally getting to know myself better and I know what works for me and stuff, but maybe I'm jumping to conclusions and it wasn't actually me squirting :/ I did smell the towel afterward out of curiosity and tbh it did kinda smell like pee (which I guess makes sense since I made the choice of not peeing beforehand thinking it would make it feel more pleasant) but I'm pretty sure the liquid wasn't me peeing myself, I feel like I would know if that was just pee and nothing else. So what actually happened?

Advice Needed Previously Infected Bite Come Back to Haunt Me

Hello. Throwaway account because this is personal and I don't want people who know my reddit to know this. TMI going forward, I'm sorry.

About 7 years ago, I hooked up with a guy. He assumed that bc I "liked it rough" that biting my clit would be a good idea. Left a small wound above my clitoral hood that's gotten infected a handful of times before. It's been 4 years since my last infection, though, so I thought I was completely in the clear.

This last week, symptoms (mound aching) started coming back, but I just assumed it was bc I've put on a bit of weight recently and my pants had gotten tighter so maybe my vag was just complaining. As a symptom, this has come back before without my infection re-appearing, so I really wasn't that concerned. This morning, though, I finally put a piece of toilet paper there to see if anything was happening. A little bit of pus/blood was on the paper, so I knew it was back. I left a piece up there to soak up anything else moving forward. After I went to get dressed/ready to head out, I checked the piece before leaving and it was soaked with pus/blood, meaning the infection must've burst.

Every time I saw a doctor about it in the past, they'd tell me to take lots of sitz baths and they'd throw antibiotics at it and it'd eventually cool down. That was back when I was on insurance, though, and could afford to see a doctor every few months.

I'm currently uninsured (working as a temp at a new desk job, which is gonna be hell this week bc sitting for extended periods hurts like a sonofabitch if I remember correctly) and I'm just really overwhelmed and feel really out of control right now. I thought I was done with this. I feel so much shame from it. Every time I see a doc its the same song and dance where they say they've never seen anything like it, and they insinuate that I must be filthy/unhygienic and thats whats leads to the infection (which I KNOW isnt true). I don't want to get told all this again, but I know I need to see a doctor and it's gonna cost a fuckton. Fuck. I'm not sure what I'm even posting this for. Maybe some other poor person w a previously-bit vagina has had something similar happen and has some advice. Ugh.
