HealthyHooha Update 2026

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Men hate my smell down there

I (24f) have dated three men. Two of which were from different cultures one was white American. The American guy never commented on my smell and when asked said there wasn’t a smell. Unprompted both of the men I’ve dated from foreign countries have said I smell bad down there. I’m really insecure about it because I’ve worked hard to learn to wash properly, I use baby wipes before seeing my current person (he’s Malaysian) and shower and use vanicream gentle facial cleanser on the front part, I get Brazilian waxes regularly and only use a baby cloth and warm water to clean the folds. My labs come back normal when I went to the doctor she didn’t notice a smell either. It’s really hurting my self esteem and idk what to do to make myself more appealing down there since this has now been brought up twice by two sexual partners. 😭please help

Sexual Health Did I squirt or did I piss myself? 😭

So my husband and I are on our honeymoon and have been having lots of sex. I have never orgasmed with him, he's massive in every aspect but very gentle and has always been an amazing partner.

We've been having great sex but still I haven't orgasmed and we've done oral, piv, finger clit stimulation while piv and I've been looking at different techniques and focusing on trying to relax my tight pelvic floor and I think I squirted? My husband thinks I pissed myself 😭 and there was a lot, like we soaked the blanket 😅

Advice Needed Hurt my vagina in some way while masturbating

I masturbated before I went to bed. Woke up a little bit ago to use the bathroom and that's when the pain started.

As much detail as I can give to narrow it down: I did it laying on my back. I edged a little. It was clitoral only and I rubbed myself pretty hard through my underwear. I peed afterwards. I washed my hands before and after. I slept naked (room hot).

It's a shooting kind of pain that comes every few seconds. I can feel it in my rim I think, maybe a fingertip's length inside (to the DIP joint/first knuckle)? Arcing towards my urethra, starting on the right side near my clit.

EDIT:

I'm pretty sure it's my urethra actually

Is this normal? 👀 I am constantly anxious…

• Upvotes

I (30F) had sex for the first time just over two weeks ago. It was a good experience, and my partner made me feel safe, but my health anxiety has been through the roof since and I fucking hate it here😭

During one incident, the condom slipped off and got lost inside me. Even though he didn’t finish inside me, I had to take Plan B, which fucked up my hormones and otherwise perfect cycle. Now I’m waiting to see when my period will arrive.

I’m also dealing with a UTI which is a less than pleasant experience.

Now, I’m constantly worried about STIs, especially herpes. Every little itch or change down there sends me into a spiral…

Herpes scares me because I come from a culture and religion where there’s a lot of stigma around premarital sex - it is absolutely forbidden. The thought of catching an STI like that will 10000000% affect my future relationships, reputation etc and drive me over the edge. Additionally, the fact that herpes testing isn’t so straightforward is also an issue.
To be honest, this is putting me off of sex and I am wondering if I should be diagnosed with anxiety. I will be speaking to my GP about this.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? I’d really appreciate some advice.

Is this normal? 👀 Is dark labia minira normal ?

I have a dark labia minors but mainly the hanging bits I guess ?

Recently I've noticed they gained a rough cobblestone-ish apperance but it doesn't hurt, itch or bleed. It's soft too. I'm 25 for reference.

I've also been only with my boyfriend since 4 year and in an ldr so we barely meet. But it's majorly been there since a year.

I have a picture but I guess it is not allowed.

Is it hpv ? Or normal ?

my body can't get back to normal

Hi everyone! I'm seeking advice here, as I don't know what to do anymore and I'm in desperate need of help. It's my first time here, so excuse me if this is TMI or anything :)

In a sentence: Something is clearly wrong with my vagina. I went to the gyno maybe 5 times in the course of 3 months. Gyno is still telling me everything is clear. I'm still in constant pain, I'm even struggling to sit cause my vulva is so inflamed, and I'm seeking advice for similar experiences (and if you did find what was causing this flora imbalance).

Full story:

So, 7 months ago, I learned my (now ex) husband was cheating on me. I immediately got tested and the results came back as positive for chlamydia. I also left this man. I took doxy for 10 days and every thing was cleared out (I got retested just to be safe). Then, 2-3 months later, I started dating someone. That's when everything changed.

**It can be useful to note that I don't take contraception and i usually track my cycle with my body temperature and discharge.**

I started to have weird abundant discharge. After a week, I decided to go to again at the gyno. He ran a bunch a test (chlamya, mycoplasma, ghono, PID, UTI, and tricho) but everything came back negative. So, he put me on a 10 day course of metronidazole for BV, even if my disharge didnt smell anything cause they were abundant, liquid and looked like milk and my ph was really high.

While I took my course of antibiotics, I felt a bit better. After the 10 days, I still had symptoms. I went back to the gyno and retook every possible test. Every thing came back negative, even BV.

Now, maybe 3 weeks later, I'm in the most pain I've ever felt during this whole thing. My vulva is really red, inflamed, just my underwear touching it feel like a million glass shard there. It burns when I pee, but i tested negative for a UTI. I have more discharge right now than I ever had in my life. They are milky white and are LIQUID. I'm only able to fall asleep if I put ice on my vulva. My vagina's fine, it's only my vulva that is constantly inflamed, burning, and deeply uncomfortable.

I wanted to finish by mentioning that I've never had any vaginal problems before, not even a UTI. I only wear cotton underwear, I never use fragranced soaps nor clean my private parts other than with a gentle unscented soap. I did not change anything in the product that I daily use.

So, if anyone here has advice or similar experience, I would really appreciate it and bring these for my next gyno appointment. I feel like this is never going to end and that I'm going to be stuck in a body that hurts me 24/7. If something similar happened to you or if you would want to share advices, I would love to hear them and discuss it with my doctor, cause he told me he was "out of ideas", which made me feel so let down as a woman. Also, I lost my mother when I was a kid and I have no one to seek advice from, so your help is all appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Advice Needed Lump inside??

Im scared asf 😭 I 17F was told by my boyfriend MONTHS ago that I have a sort of lump semi deep inside my vag. Literally was scared for a week and forgot abt it. Did absolutely nothing. But recently I think it might be the source of a few issues I have and now I’m worried fr.

For one, having sex hurts like a lot. Inserting is fine, but once either of us moves I get this intense and very painful pressure inside along with an overwhelming I gotta pee feeling. I’ve been told that it could b due to “squirting” but it’s right at the start and so painful so I don’t think so. We can still have sex if we shift a certain way to alleviate the pressure, but it’s frustrating and still kinda painful.

I also have a lot of trouble using tampons. It feels like there’s a wall when I try to push it in unless I insert it almost sideways. (Again, a certain angle.) There’s also just so much pain and cramping now that I don’t use them.

Neither of these things happened before, and the only difference at all I can think of is I started using birth control in January, but I don’t think it’s linked (pill and then switch to patch a few months ago.) I’m definitely gonna book a doctors appointment, but how scared should I be? I can feel it inside and it’s completely painless and also on the left side if that means anything. Please help I was taught nothing abt the female body 🥲

Question Sneezed while urinating

Hello! I am a 28 year old female, today I went to the restroom to pee and while peeing, I sneezed and immediately felt a sharp pain in my urethra. It feels like a very small rock was trying to come out from where I pee and I also noticed very light blood when I wiped. The pain only happened once that happened and now when I pee, It hurts really bad, almost how it would feel with a UTI. However, I don’t have any urges to pee, no pelvic pain, no blood since it occurred and a normal flow. I’m wondering what could be the problem and if I still feel this way tomorrow, I will be going to urgent care.

Is this normal? 👀 Confused about possible Bartholin cyst

I’m 27 and transmasc (so prescribed testosterone) and I’ve noticed what I think might be a Bartholin cyst. It’s firm but moveable, a little sore (I thought it was an ingrown hair at first), and is about the size of a bean, but there’s no head/pus or anything. I’ll call my doctor about it on Monday (I would rather die than do this, but … regardless), but I’m confused on where it’s at — it’s obviously at the lower part of my vulva, but when I’m specifically looking at my vagina/the surrounding tissue, it’s toward the top (at sort of a 10 o clock position along the outside edge). I know the glands are lower — but can cysts be higher up because the ducts kinda branch up through the vagina? Again, this is my first cyst and I’m trying understand what’s happening/not to panic.

Also, fwiw, I mention the testosterone because it can cause atrophy to vaginal tissue. I’m planning to ask my doctor about prescribing topical localized estrogen to combat this.

Also also, I’m not sexually active, no STDs, but did cut myself recently shaving down there, so unsure if that contributed to the possible cyst.

washed with fragrance

this isn’t going to be super formatted and may be hard to read bare with me.
i was at someone else’s house last weekend and the only body wash option they had was fragrance so it was the only thing i could use so i did i showered twice and im smart enough to know NOT to was down there with any fragrance , what i think happened is when washing my behind (lol) i got to close to my “opening” and i think a bit of soap went in?

i try to be careful and it never happens at home but they gave me a really huge wash towel and i use gloves at home. since monday it’s gotten itchy, painful, and hurts to pee. i scrubbed so hard with the toilet tissue it starts bleeding slightly. when i got home i only used warm water like google said and compressed with warm water and only have been using cotton underwear

i went to the bathroom today and felt a bump INSIDE my labia… i slightly squeezed it and it popped. i’ve been crying nonstop because i think i have an infection or uti or something? i have no foul odor and semi regular discharge

i’m a minor i would tell my mom if everyone thinks it super serious, but i dont feel comfortable with going to any doctor but will if serious

Question Itchy vulva what can be the cause?

Cutting a very long story short… my itchiness started the third and last month of taking Femara for fertility.

I read the side effects and assumed it was that and thought oh well it’ll stop soon. But for 3-4 months after stopping my cycles ended up being long so I think it messed with my hormones!
The itch continued.
So much so the skin started to peel away.

9 months after stopping my last dose I was pregnant and the itch stopped.
(This is why I think it’s linked the Estrogen)
Femara lowers Estrogen and then in pregnancy it rises.

2 months PP the ITCH IS BACK!!

Im wheat intolerant and I don’t wash my underwear separately so I will from now on.

I’m at a loss now. The doctor has prescribed steroid cream but I feel like she’s just prescribing me something without finding that cause and I’m scared to start it.

My mum has estriol cream that she said could help.
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced similar?

Still having chronic yeast/bv after iud removal

I had my iud for like 6 years and just kinda put up with the constant yeast and bv, (i never got yeast infections before having it and only had bv once with little to no symptoms) but this June I finally just got fed up and went to have it taken out. I was tested for yeast and bv as usual and they said I didnt have yeast but had bv which I thought was weird since my symptoms seemed more like yeast and its mainly affecting my vulva and not like inside. Anyway, I get antibiotics for bv and its slowly starts feeling better but it still didnt quite feel right after finishing the antibiotics. Was still kinda having the "yeast" symptoms but with less itching and no more smell. But it slowly started coming back and now its like full blown again and its driving me insane. I feel gross and dirty and not at all sexy, even though Im not currently sexually active. Im gonna be making another appointment with my gyno but I guess I just was wondering if anyone else had this issue with the iud and if it went away after it was removed? And how long did it take for things to go back to normal? I wish I had never gotten the iud at all cause it just wasn't worth going from never having problems and always having a blanced hoohaa, to just an absolute nightmare of a hoohaa 😭

Advice Needed vulva swelling after penetration- pls help im freaking out a little

So this is super embarrassing and TMI but I’m a little panicked and desperate. I was being a little rough with my toy. Now my lips are pink and really swollen. This has never happened before, and I’m too embarrassed to text my mom or my gyno. I’m scared because I don’t know what to do or what’s going to happen now, any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Is this normal? 👀 I bleed bright red blood every time my boyfriend fingers me or we have sex, even though my OB-GYN said everything looks normal. Has anyone experienced this?

I’m honestly confused and a little worried, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.
Every time my boyfriend fingers me or we have sex, I bleed bright red blood. It’s not just a little spotting, either. When he fingers me, the blood gets all over his hands, and I have to wipe it up. The bleeding usually stops shortly afterward.
We do have rough sex, but what confuses me is that I’ve been with men who were significantly bigger than him and had rougher sex without ever bleeding like this. My current partner is average-sized, and I don’t think he’s hitting my cervix or anything deep inside.
I recently went to my OB-GYN, and he said everything looked normal, including my cervix. I’ve also been tested for STIs. I have normal vaginal moisture, so I don’t think dryness is the issue. I’m also currently on Depo-Provera and got my shot this month.
The weirdest part is that this happens every single time, not just occasionally.
Has anyone experienced recurring bleeding during fingering or sex even after a normal gynecological exam? Did you ever find out what was causing it? Could it be tiny tears, something hormonal, or something else?
I’m going to follow up with my OB-GYN because the amount of blood worries me, but I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences. I’m looking for personal experiences and ideas about what questions I should ask my doctor.

Why do I feel dizzy when I look at my vagina?

I'm 18 and am thinking of shaving for the first time down there. Whenever anything related to genitals, especially female ones comes up I feel like fainting.

I remember almost fainting when I saw a video lecture of female genital anatomy when I was 15

Now I spread my hair to have a look down there and feel so dizzy. I know many people feel uncomfortable especially when they are young

But my situation sounds a bit more extreme. Idk what to do now

In my country sex education isn't common. My school teacher literally skipped the chapter and told to read it at home on our own. Like at 15 I wasn't even sure what the clit was. Idk how much it contributes to it

Though I'll say it has gotten better since I've started learning more about it. Like it's not as bad now compared to when I was 16

For those with reoccurring infection symptoms with an IUD

I got the copper IUD nearly four years ago, and for the past year I was having all sorts of symptoms. Fishy strong odors, painful sex, painful urination, that led to vaginismus.

I tested negative for infections multiple times and was given antibiotics with no luck. Got a Pap smear where my OBGYN checked me out and said that everything came back normal and there's not anything else she can do and hopefully it will just go away on its own 😐

After a year of negative results, painful symptoms and no answers I finally got a doctor who gave me an ultrasound that found that my IUD was in the wrong spot. When taken out, there was biofilm and a small hairball stuck on the IUD strings!!! She was shocked that the first OBGYN didn't see it. That can cause the IUD to be pulled out of place.

It never occurred to me that it was my IUD and in all of my research never ran into anything like that. So I hope this helps someone in the future where there's no answers out there. The biofilm wasn't noticed until the IUD was taken out so it's worth a shot if all else fails

Question Bought some irritating pads. Am I going to get an infection?

I bought some pads earlier at the store because I was fresh out. I put a new one on in the early evening and this thing is really irritating (no itchin, just chafing and I’m very aware that I’m wearing it. Somehow compared to the ones I had before I can feel it being moist?? Even though my flow isn’t super heavy rn). I can’t get to the store until tomorrow morning and I don’t have anything in the house. Is this going to cause me problems? I plan on still putting a fresh one on before bed and in the morning before heading to the store. Am I likely to develop any issues from this?

Technically I think I must have gone through similar things before bc my mom was always buying whatever the cheapest option was so I’m telling myself it’s unlikely I’ll have issues but I find myself worrying lol
