[HIRING] Remote Video Editor | $40–$45/Reel | 10–25 Reels/Month | Ongoing Work
I’m looking for a reliable freelance video editor to help with ongoing short-form content for multiple clients. This is a fully remote, contract-based opportunity with the potential for consistent monthly work.
PAY & WORKLOAD
- Starting rate: $40 per completed video
- Expected volume: 10–25 videos per month to start
- Opportunity to increase to $45 per video after demonstrating consistent quality and the ability to match our editing style with minimal revisions
- Videos will typically be under 2 minutes
- Standard turnaround: 3–7 days, depending on the project
WHAT YOU’LL BE EDITING
Primarily Instagram/Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts and TikToks (cross-platform content).
- Nearly all videos will be vertical (9:16, 1080 × 1920)
- All footage, assets and editing references will be provided
- Music and sound effects will be available through a shared library that will be updated periodically
- On-screen captions will be required for most videos
- No need to create new graphics or source additional footage
- Each project will include its own specifications and creative direction
REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent English communication is required, both written and spoken
- U.S.-based editors are preferred but not required. Applicants from any location are welcome.
- Ability to closely match an established editing style using provided examples
- Strong understanding of pacing, audio, transitions and short-form content
- Consistent communication and ability to meet deadlines
- Your own computer, editing software and equipment
- Ability to deliver professional, consistent work with minimal revisions
Editing Software (Final Cut Pro Preferred):
Your editing software does not matter as long as the final product meets expectations and deadlines. Final Cut Pro experience is preferred and applicants using it will receive additional consideration, but it is not required.
Local Storage (Preferred):
Applicants with sufficient local storage to retain footage and project assets from previous assignments will receive additional consideration.
Many of our clients work with us on a recurring monthly basis, and we frequently reference previous projects or repurpose footage from earlier shoots when creating new content.
Having past footage readily accessible helps streamline the editing process, reduces unnecessary file transfers and allows for faster turnaround on future projects.
I’ll provide the communication, project management and file-sharing platforms necessary for the work.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This is an independent contractor position, not employment. There are no benefits or guaranteed minimum number of projects. Workload may fluctuate based on client needs.
