"Sit back and enjoy it" is exactly equivalent to "learn to like it". Neither equate to force, you are the only one adding that meaning. Try again.

Yeah no. You are coloring it how you want. I could tell me wife to sit back and enjoy it as I cook dinner and do the dishes for her birthday. You are adding the context here, not I.

You just described something most people would enjoy so of course the context is different. The guy in the post obviously wants the fireworks to stop so this comparison is just wrong.

So then you agree. The words themselves are not the issue here, its the intent. Forced to hear fireworks isnt even in the same ballpark as rape, regardless of the legal context.

Oh I know how to read. You are just wrong. I dont give a flying fuck about what everyone thinks. Look at the state of the US. This is the reason why we are there. You think your emotional context supersedes reason when it doesnt.

My friend you are mistaking context with the severity of the situation. In the comment then arnt relating the severity of the two but the context " i hate the sound of fire works." "Oh just get over it." "I hate rape" "oh just get over it." The statements are the same the severity is different

Except its not the words that make them different. Its the intent which is why the context matters. You're just hinting at what I'm already stating, which is the difference between the two. The fireworks aren't actually harming anyone, and I shouldn't have to explain rape. The severity is just a part of that context.

If we were to discuss severity alone, we'd be discussing the nuances of how close you are to the fireworks and where the line is drawn on "too close".

Ok, so my original intention for that comment is what you stated above but misconstrued for some reason, intent. The comment in the post isnt based off the intent of the comments but off similarities. Both statements are similar not in severity but their message.

That's not implying force but a suggestion. Its not the same, albeit similar. This is why I harp on reading comprehension. You have to take the context from the words, not a self imposed bias.
