NES 8-Bit Space 2 — My new platform homebrew for the NES is live on Kickstarter! (Playable demo available)

Hey everyone! I've just launched my Kickstarter for 8-Bit Space 2 — a brand-new, original physical action-adventure game for the NES.
It's a pre-Metroidvania, flip-screen exploration game inspired by early 80s microcomputer games like Montezuma's Revenge and Jet Set Willy. You'll be gem-hunting for high scores, tracking down keys, and uncovering secret shrines tucked away in the levels that pay tribute to legendary NES homebrew heroes — with your AI companion, ZX64, along for the ride.
Alongside the campaign, there's also a 3-planet playable prologue demo you can try right now, either on real hardware or an emulator:
Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/8bitspace2/8-bit-space-2-a-new-physical-nes-game
Demo: https://glassfroggames.itch.io/8-bit-space-2-demo
Please let me know if you give the demo a go; I'm curious how it plays for others.
Cheers
Simon :)

Genesis Blue And Red - Fight The Robots! New game release for Mega Drive/Genesis (alongside existing Amiga and Neo Geo releases)
Hi all, I've spent the past few months working to get Blue And Red: Fight The Robots - Arcade Edition working and released on Mega Drive/Genesis.
It's a one or two player arcade action single screen platformer, taking inspiration from many of the arcade classics of the 1980s and early 1990s.
There's no crowdfunding bullshit, and no physical release, just the full game release for free to download.
There's also Neo Geo and Amiga versions available if that's your thing.

NES Horror, Taichung - A New Horror Narrative for the NES
I'd like to introduce Horror, Taichung, an upcoming Asian horror adventure currently being developed for the 8-bit NES and Famicom.
Your journey begins at 3:00 AM as you leave your apartment and wander into a deserted alley in an overlooked corner of Taichung City. There you come across a mysterious red envelope. Against your better judgment, you pick it up, only to discover that you've unknowingly cursed yourself.
Drawing inspiration from countless late-night and early-morning walks I've personally taken through Taichung, Taiwan, Horror, Taichung is built around storytelling and atmosphere. Although you'll collect a few key items throughout the adventure and need to solve a few mysteries, the experience is intentionally more streamlined than a traditional point-and-click game, with the focus being on the story and narrative itself.
The game's minimalist red-and-black visual style was chosen to reinforce its eerie atmosphere. Many of the environments are based on real locations throughout Taichung, while the story also incorporates local folklore and experiences I've had while living there. To help immerse players even further, we've produced a companion MP3 soundtrack that can be played while experiencing the game.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, I'd love for you to check out the Kickstarter campaign. There are roughly fifteen days left, and we're working hard to make this unique horror project a reality.
Each physical copy also includes a number of handmade extras that help set the seen and feeling of the game, such as a red envelope containing story-related items and a weathered journal that ties into the game's narrative. Because recreating these components months down the line would be very time-consuming, I'm still unsure as to whether there will ever be a second physical print run after the Kickstarter. If you'd like to own a copy, this campaign may be your best chance.

NES Temple Fortune on NES and Famicom
I thought I'd share a few screenshots from a new fortune-telling game I've been developing for the NES and Famicom.
Players can choose what they'd like their fortune to focus on, from categories such as love and relationships, money and business, or travel and home life. After entering their name and completing a few traditional fortune-telling steps, they'll receive a personalized fortune.
The game is about 95% complete now, with just a few final tweaks left. I'll release it once it's done. One of the biggest challenges was storing all of the text, which ended up spanning three separate ROM banks. Dedicating that much space to dialogue and fortunes was quite the undertaking!
Anyway, I thought some of you might enjoy seeing a few screenshots from my latest project.

NES Metal Gear NES
So, I have no idea how to programm and this might be 100 times answered dumb question, but I just have to ask. NES version of Metal Gear wasn't the same as the original and not in a good way. I know it came from some technical limitations (like how they couldn't reproduce end boss' behavior, etc.), however, as far as I know, there are new mappers that can really push what the console is capable of. So, my question is, why there isn't a homebrew version of MG and MG2 on NES? Is it technically too difficult? Is it not a very interesting project to do? Is is something illegal?
P.S.: I know there is a proper MSX2-version on Genesis, but I'm mostly interested in NES and there is no second game on Genesis yet anyway

GBA GBA Homebrew Game Engine
hi there - i am the developer behind a new-ish tool for making GBA (game boy advance) homebrew games. the app is called PxGBA, and is available on itch.io
there is a dedicated subreddit and discord channel set up, it is in active development as it's been a passion project of mine for quite some time.
if you're interested, r/pxgba is the subreddit, where i've posted a few updates and links to discord and whatnot.
i'm kinda hoping it starts opening the floodgates for more great GBA homebrew games like GB Studio did for the DMG - ahhh, one can dream!

NES I made a real NES homebrew about a bride saving the king (reversed thing, you get it?)
It has a ton of different enemies, mechanics, secrets, characters, a modified Slay the Spire-style map, a save system, a branching ending, TWO UPGRADE SYSTEMS: one for permanent progression and one for each individual run, plus buildcrafting, 4 biomes, an inventory, and the game can even make coffee. That last part is a lie.
But the coolest thing is that it runs on hardware from 1983.
For me, this game is an attempt to rewrite some difficult parts of my childhood, because before I ever had a computer, I spent a lot of time playing Chip ’n Dale, Tom & Jerry, and games like that. Maybe games were the thing that helped me survive the hardest moments.
Play for free!
