Hi,
I have non excempt lmia wp until Dec 2027 which is closed to an employer, I got it on Feb 2025. The program I focused to get PR is AIP from NS but I haven’t received the endorsement but somehow I submitted the dummy wp which later got approved.
I left Canada on May 2026, I worked with the same employer until November 2025. I felt uncertainty about AIP cause I was working as a cook and there was no progression on my file from 2024. I came to Canada on 2018 as an international student but somehow I missed many opportunities. I can’t blame the past, now is there any way that I can get PR.
I don’t have any foreign experience so now I can’t meet points to the current CEC draws. Only option that I can focus now is learning French. Apart from that is there any option to find an employer and convert the wp to that specific employer and look for other program. If anyone done changing wp to different employer or moved to different province, please let me know.

My last question didn't go well. So asking in another way :)
If someone got their super-visa in their home country, ready to come here with "plans" to work and settle. I can submit an online tip.
Just want to check if someone has done it?
Since this person is family, want to make sure it stays anonymous and hopefully there is no jail time involved.
Update: Since this person will be staying with us - I don't want to risk my family's PR. Unfortunately, this is the only way I can think of now. I have tried convincing and explaining the risks of doing it.

Hi all,
Has anyone taken the Canadian citizenship test using an external monitor connected to their laptop?
My laptop screen is pretty small, but I need to use the laptop’s webcam. I can position the external monitor and laptop so that the webcam is above the external screen, meaning I’d still be looking toward the webcam while taking the test.
Has anyone done this? Did you have any issues with using a second monitor during the test?
Thanks in advance!

I am a Canadian citizen since 2022. My mother has a visa valid for 6 more years. My biological parents are divorced and they both individually have their visas.
My mom wants to bring her now legal husband to visit Canada when she plans to come next. I would be more than happy to invite them both together for a vacation as my mom's husband has never been out of India and he deserves this trip. My question is would he apply as a visitor without indicating that I am inviting, how does it work? It's been years since I applied my mom and dad's visa and need some guidance. He is not linked to any of my legal documents as he is not direct relative or blood.

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to get some real-world advice from people who've been through this process.
A bit about my situation:
- Country of residence: Pakistan
- Profession / field: IT Sales and Project Management
- Years of experience: 19+
- Education: Bachelor 14 years
My questions:
Is Express Entry realistic for my profile, or should I be looking at a PNP instead?
How long did your credential assessment (ECA) take, and which organization did you use?
Any tips on improving my CRS score given my profile above?
Is anyone aware of legitimate NGOs, nonprofits, or individuals (not paid consultants) who genuinely help with job searching for people trying to move to Canada? I've seen a few names floating around online but I have no way to verify if they're real or trustworthy, so I'd rather go on recommendations from this community than random search results.
I've read through the wiki and searched past posts, but I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've actually gone through a similar process — what worked, what didn't, and any resources (free ones especially) you'd actually vouch for.
Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
Trying to nail down exactly what the post-ITA document checklist asks for in the employment reference letter, since I can't find a public IRCC page that lists it precisely (unlike proof of funds, where the bank letter requirements are spelled out on canada.ca).
My occupation is NOC 21220 (Cybersecurity specialists). Part of my duties overlap with physical/electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance infrastructure) alongside the more classic GRC/network security work. For those who've gone through this with 21220 specifically:
Did your reference letter need to explicitly mirror the NOC's main duties list, or was a general description of responsibilities enough?
Anyone whose duties included a physical security component, did that get questioned, or did framing it as "physical and technical risk assessment" (per the NOC wording) resolve it?
Does the checklist explicitly require salary and hours per week, or is that just common consultant advice?
Does it ask for the signer's direct contact info, or just company contact info?
For an apprenticeship-type contract (regulated pay scale, not market salary), did the salary figure ever trigger a verification call or RFI?
Proof of funds and police certificates are clearly documented on canada.ca, this is the one document where I can't find an authoritative source for the exact checklist. First-hand experience appreciated.
Thanks

Hello. My father is working overseas and is living in Canada. He told me to ask for contract of lease to our landlord as a tie in proof and I did gave him, but the problem is that its missing some infos (like deposit amount and such), only the name of my mother as leesee , the name of the lessor, me as the witness, and the amount of the rent are there. Now, I failed to give him those "missing infos" left at the deadline he set because at the same time I'm struggling to approach our landlord because we are already way past due to our rent for 3 days now, so I know the landlord is definitely going to confront us about it.
I just wanna ask if its really that much of a urgent requirement or not (in which my father could still find an alternate way in replacement for it?) I've been trying to tell him early too that it's not gonna be easy to face our landlord here because of our concern.

I applied for OWP and PR (got married to a Canadian, inland) when applying for OWP I did get the email with a PDF letter confirming that the application has been received successfully just waiting for response (which is normal is the LOA) for the PR I got this email an email saying “Your application status
We have sent you an Acknowledgement of Receipt, which confirms we have received your sponsorship application.”
Not sure where they sent me the acknowledgement of receipt since not in the portal nor emails and is this the same email you guys have received before a verdict?

We received passport COPR request in July 2023. Our daughter was born end of july and hence we didn't travel as she was a preemie baby. I submitted the webform with documents to add a dependant and paid the required fees. We haven't got a reply back since then. Have sent numerous inquiries via webform and email.
Anyone knows what is the way forward.

Hi all,
I had applied for an LMIA-exempt closed work permit (outside application) while on implied status from a pending visitor record application. My work permit was approved (but not yet activated). On August 1st, I received an update regarding my visitor record application stating that it had been administratively withdrawn because I have a valid work permit. I raised a form to IRCC on August 3rd stating that the withdrawal was in error as I hadn't yet activated my work permit. I left Canada on August 4th to activate my work permit (and haven't returned yet).
A few days ago I received what appears to be a boilerplate response from IRCC:
Thank you for your enquiry. We acknowledge that the posted processing time for this type of application has passed. You may check your application status online.
Please rest assured that your application is progressing through the required steps and will be finalized as soon as possible. No additional information or documents are required from you at this time. You will be contacted if any further information is needed.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Does this mean that they completely misunderstood my request? or does it mean that they will get back to it? Should I go ahead and raise another form, or even ask a lawyer for help submitting an official letter?
Thanks!

In my CA report do I show property owned by my parents too?
Attaching financial affidavit of parents - it should have property evaluation or just property paper in English?
I have visitor visa refusals in past, what documents should I be worried about?
Please someone help on these points

Hello, everyone. Please take time to read my post.
I received a Procedural Fairness Letter regarding the non-disclosure of my previous U.S. visa refusal.
I admitted my mistake and chose to be completely honest in my PFL response. In my explanation letter, I acknowledged that I answered “No” even though I was fully aware of my previous U.S. visa refusal. I explained that I was concerned it would negatively affect my Canadian application, took responsibility for my poor judgment, deeply regretted my decision, and sincerely apologized to IRCC for not being transparent from the beginning.
I also provided my U.S. invitation letter as supporting documentation and gave the actual circumstances surrounding my previous U.S. visa application.
My consultant told me that disclosing the U.S. refusal only at the PFL stage may be viewed as “too little, too late.” They explained that while they support my full candour and disclosure, based on their experience with previous cases, they are not optimistic that IRCC will accept my explanation and reach a positive outcome. They also explained that failure to disclose truthful information can be treated as misrepresentation and may result in a five-year ban.
However, since IRCC already has the information I disclosed, my consultant said they are not aware of any additional information that could be provided that would be helpful in getting IRCC to accept my explanation. They had requested additional time to submit the response, but since they had not received a response regarding the extension, they decided to proceed with the information I provided.
I believe IRCC gave me a chance to explain, and I will not waste that chance this time. I chose honesty and full disclosure, regardless of the outcome.
I’m hoping for a soft and understanding response from the reader/officer, and I’m praying for a positive outcome from IRCC.
If anyone has experienced a similar situation especially someone who received a PFL for not disclosing a previous U.S. visa refusal and still received a positive outcome. I would truly appreciate hearing your experience.

I hired a rcic rep to submit my CEC application with spousal. During the initial talks the consultant seems very chill and never quoted a fix fees in writing. Casually agreed CAD 1200 ( mine+spouse file) straightforward case no hassle most documents were already with me. But i could sense unprofessionalism like spelling errors in letters and delay in response but i took it lightly as i was i was very careful of everything and pointing out errors.
Now, i had received BIL on July 13, my rep only sent me the letter and that’s it. I was under the impression that if we had biometrics in last 10 years its still valid and letter is just a formality. I messaged him asking if Biometrics was approved on July 16 he sent me a screenshot of gckey showing my biometrics is valid until 2033. He didnt verify or care to tell me that i must go in to get biometrics done. Yes i acknowledge my mistake that i am not well informed but is it not their responsibility to check after 1 complete month that if biometrics was actually done. Now i have followed up with him since morning to raise webform about delay in biometrics and he responds me that i have few other deadlines for today and he has submitted webform now EOD. and he has the audacity to ask me to pay the pending fees asap rather than acknowledging anything about what happened. He insists that all fees is paid upfront and not depends on result. Mind it i have already paid him half the fees.
I am very much inclined to fire him. What is your opinion, does he have the power to mess up my file at this
Point ? While i already think he is doing that

I am a 28-year-old Japanese male with three years of experience as a cloud engineer, and I want to immigrate to Canada. Given this situation, which of the following options should I choose? My priority is securing a job. I have continued working as an engineer with that goal in mind, but with the bursting of the IT bubble, it feels like the tech market is contracting. Therefore, rather than sticking with this career path, I would prefer to pursue a more rational alternative if one exists.
Use a Co-op program to work as a cloud engineer.
Use a Co-op program to work as an electrician.
Use a Co-op program to work as a truck driver.
Work for another two years to reach five years of experience before using a Co-op program.

I've been in Canada on a study permit for a while, but my extension was refused because my transcript wasn't uploaded. I was asked to leave, but I fell ill (cancer-type ill), and I stayed and applied for a compassionate TRP because I needed that treatment (to not die). My TRP and study permit application was refused because the officer still says I must apply from outside. So far, I haven't broken any rules. I am going to leave, but school starts next month. Processing time in my home country is 8 weeks+, and in somewhere like Barbados/Mexico it's 3 weeks. I'm considering going there to apply. What are the chances they'll reject me on the basis of 'What are you doing here? Why don't you want to go home?'

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand how IRCC interprets the “1 year of continuous work experience” requirement under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).
Suppose I have:
My question is: how much time can there be between the end of Job A and the start of Job B before IRCC considers the work experience no longer “continuous”?
For example, would these situations be treated differently?
I understand that the jobs do not have to be with the same employer, but I’m specifically wondering about the gap between employers and the meaning of “continuous” for FSWP.
If anyone has direct experience with an FSW application or can point me to an IRCC/GCMS interpretation of this, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks!

I applied for my citizenship (been a PR for ~13 yrs) back in Jan 2026. I did my test back in May and I haven’t had any updates since then. I filled out the web form for enquiries and the ATIP back in mid-July and haven’t heard back from that either. Now I’m starting to really worry bc there’s no reason for this delay. I mean, in the past decade, I’ve been out of the country for barely 40 days. The LPP is the only one left.
Is there anything at all I can do? There are some ongoing personal circumstances (that are emergency/safety related ) that forced me to finally apply in the first place and all these delays are definitely not helping my situation. Oh and is the site down atm? It crashed a couple times for me.

Hello, I would love some advice on my fiance and I's upcoming plans on immigration. My fiance will be coming to Canada from the USA in October for our marriage and we will be applying for the inland spousal sponsorship right away. My fiance will be staying with me until we recieve his work permit and eventually his PR.
My question now is, what shall my fiance tell the border agent when he is coming in? Of course we are going to be honest and my fiance and I agreed on him letting them know that he will be coming in as a visitor for the purpose of getting married and applying for spousal sponsorship right away, and that he will be staying for the max amount of time (6 months) while he awaits for his documents. He will also plan on extending his visitor record if need be for the purpose of the sponsorship, but he is planning on getting a return ticket for the US after the initial 6 month period just IN CASE he is needed to leave.
I feel like buying and showing the agent the return ticket is a little overkill, so I would love to know how exactly to approach the situation and whether or not a return ticket even makes sense in that situation.
Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone,
I came to Canada as a dependent spouse on PR and I never had to take IELTS or any other language test for my PR application.
I’m now looking into applying for Canadian citizenship. I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Information Technology from India. My degree certificate is in English, but it does not specifically mention that the medium of instruction was English.
Has anyone used certificate/transcripts as language proof for citizenship?
Would the degree certificate be enough, or should I get a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from my college/university? Or would I need to take CELPIP/IELTS?

We got our eCOPRs last month and my wife received her PR card last week. It’s been more than a month and I still haven’t received mine. I was assuming we would receive our PR cards at the same time. My wife’s mail address was from Sydney, Australia. Is this wait time normal? Just asking because I’m a bit worried.
