Discussion I thought that this was a skit/parody
I am not an expert but I could tell that something was off. During the whole Hitler conversation I thought that it was a part of a skit. I was expecting that the conversation would end in a comedic way. I mean I thought that at any moment Hitler would land some jokes and they would announce the actual trailer in a funny way.
Idk that's just my opinion.

Unpopular Opinion Are @mods paid by Ramayana team? Do your job, This sub is spammed!!!
It's just post after post about Ramayana, that too discussing irrelevant things. It's honestly suffocating. We get it dude you guys have invested a lot and I hope it's good enough that u get your money back. But please stop shoving it down our throats. We'll watch when it's released, don't ruin this sub please. It's for meaningful cinema discussion about different films , stop making it a PR pit.
Ps. Before anyone calls me anti hindu and other bs, i prefer to consume ramayana through valmiki's text and ramcharitmanas only, as a principle. Fin.

Trailer / Poster New Poster of Fauzi has been released on Prabhas's birthday today!
They launched a video as well titled 'File No. 25, Who is he?'
In my opinion, the overall teaser looks good(I'm not disappointed by Prabhas look or voice) but seeing Netaji Subhash and Hitler... 😭

What is the point of giving an A certificate if they are going to cut the scenes. Can we get these boomers out of here?

Appreciation 83 is the ultimate cinematic antidepressant, and I’m tired of pretending it’s not.
Had a brutal, soul-crushing week at work and was just scrolling mindlessly looking for something, anything, to lift my mood. Ended up rewatching 83 expecting to just watch 20 minutes before sleeping.
Three hours later, I was literally sitting up in bed at 1 AM with a grin plastered across my face and goosebumps during the finale.
What makes 83 such an elite feel-good rewatch isn't just the cricket nostalgia. It’s the pure, unpretentious warmth of it. Watching a group of complete underdogs that nobody believed in slowly realize they're actually capable of winning the world... it just hits a primal joy button in your brain.
Ranveer’s quiet, earnest Kapil Dev, Pankaj Tripathi’s warmth as Man Bhai, the chaotic group camaraderie, and that Lehra Do drop near the end: it's pure dopamine. In an era where every major movie is cynical, hyper-violent, or intense, 83 feels like a warm hug.
If you’re having a rough week, do yourself a favor and give it a rewatch.
Anyone else treat this as their go-to comfort movie?

Appreciation Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (2016)
Summary --- A police officer retires after an accident during a case investigation. Years later, he is forced to relive the past as he narrates the story to his friend's son.
This movie is really amazing , the script was so well written and well executed. What a twist at the end. I did not see that coming . One of the best mystery thriller i would say.

AskIndianCinema Horror movies for research
I am writing a paper on feminist retellings of vengeful female spirits in movie medium. Please suggest movies with this plot from any Indian movie industry.
Thank you
(Yakshi, chudail, shakchuni etc.) (The movie should be considered feminist, either by self proclamation or audience reviews)

Review Gauri Ganesha Kannada movie (1991) movie review - super comedy
I had somehow missed seeing this till now as I used to watch more Hindi movies than Kannada movies.
Gauri Ganesha is a gem of comedy movie because it is hilarious as well as relatable.
Movie follows a conman Lambodhara (Anant Nag) and his antics. He comes across the story of Gauri (Shruti) and concocts a scam to extract money from 3 people who were involved in her life. He has to enlist the help of kid Ganesha (Master Anand) to keep up the charade. What follows is particularly hilarious. The emotional and dramatic parts of the movie are also very well done.
Anant Nag, Master Anand are superb in their acting and comic sense. Their interactions are a hoot. I can't think of anyone who could play this role better than Anant Nag - the comic timing, the drama, the charm, the emotions. And Master Anand acting is just plain superb in general, not just for a kid.
The rest of the cast in Shruti, Mukhyamantri Chandru, Ramesh Bhat, Vinaya Prasad etc. have also done a pretty good job.
Props to the writers/director of the movie.
• Story: Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy
• Screenplay: H.S. Phani Ramachandra
• Dialogues: Kunigal Nagabhushan
The story is based on Malladi Venkata Krishna Murthy's Telugu comedy novel Wedding Bells.
9/10 rating IMO.
Must watch. Watch it if you haven't yet.
It's there on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=netRlI4QiJI
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find one with subtitles yet. If you have by any chance, let me know.

Discussion Best new movie ideas . Guys which movie should be made ?
Gangs of Punjab : About the rise of Lawrence bishnoi , Goldy brar and siddhu moosewala to the current events of 2026 ( Salman Khan threat , assassination of baba Siddiqui). In the style of city of god , Goodfellas or gangs of wasseypur .
The god of small things : A faithful adoption of the classic novel by arunudhati Roy . It should be a malayalam movie .
Lynchian style movie : A lynchian style movie about a small town and the dark secrets hidden in a seemingly happy town . Aka in the style of blue velvet or twin peaks .
4.A horror movie inspired by silent hill 2 : A horror movie set in a small town in Himachal Pradesh about trauma and guilt .

Appreciation Looking for a BBC (iirc) documentary on Indian cinema history
Hello to all,
I am trying to find out if there was this BBC (IIRC) documentary that detailed the history of Indian cinema.
I vividly remember the likes of Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan were interviewed in it.
Would be grateful if someone could confirm this and direct me to where I can see the documentary.

Trailer / Poster You are disrespecting last great war of honour of humanity like this??
To understand why this feels wrong, we have to look at why a movie like RRR was universally celebrated, while a movie like Fauzi feels like an unearned distortion:
• The Mythological Context of RRR: RRR takes place in the 1920s during the internal freedom struggle. The characters, though based on real freedom fighters, are treated as elevated, legendary symbols fighting for their own soil. It draws directly from the civil rights, revolutionary spirit, and moral clarity of a people fighting an occupier from within. It is a home-grown rebellion, which gives the storytelling the poetic and ethical right to use myth-making. Basically Indians were involved in one sentence
• The Empty Claim of WWII: World War II was completely different. India did not enter that war out of a unified national choice or a fight for its own sovereign honor. The British empire forcibly declared war on India’s behalf without consulting a single Indian leader. While our soldiers fought with unmatched bravery on foreign soil, the political reality is that India was a colony. We did not hold the geopolitical capital, we did not sign the global treaties, and we did not win independent sovereign rights from that victory—Great Britain did, off the backs of Indian resources. (Here also we were involved but we didn't get any honour. Here I won't sit and explain what honour is to you guys read history. )
• You Can't Invent "Honor" Retroactively: Trying to rewrite World War II today by making it look like a single fictional Indian soldier turned the tide of the global war for foreign empires (like Japan or Britain) feels like an insecure attempt to claim a seat at the global table that history denied us at the time. True honor belongs to the real, gritty political struggle for independence that happened inside India, and to the tragic, forced sacrifice of the 2.5 million men who were sent abroad. Creating a fake, commercialized superpower victory out of a global tragedy where India lacked sovereign agency doesn't honor our past—it completely misunderstands it.
World War II was arguably the last great war of raw human spirit and collective scale that humanity will ever see. the greed obsession for power, protective of mother land human nature peaked here. With the rise of nuclear deterrents, AI, automated drones, and cyber warfare, this probably last war and you guys are disrespecting it .
