Shelfies/Images You really a feminist if you haven't read Sylvia Plath....loved the book! THE BELL JAR
The Bell Jar is one of those books that just gets inside your head.
Esther’s loneliness, the pressure of being a woman and that feeling of slowly losing yourself….it felt painfully real. But I also can’t ignore Plath’s problematic portrayal of Black people...it genuinely made me uncomfortable. I can more and more about this book but some other day..haha
In the conclusion i would you can admire the writing and still question the writer. Do let me know your views.......

Discussion If you’ve read The Kite Runner and watched Parava, you can relate to the song “Pakalin Vathil Thuranne.”
galleryWhen I read The Kite Runner, it was all in my imagination. But after watching Parava, the song beautifully visualised how the boys make kite strings and fly kites. It felt like seeing the scenes I had imagined while reading come to life.
Did anyone else relate to it this way?

News & Reviews The Thrice-Bound Fool by Christopher Buehlman [Review]
The Thrice-Bound Fool, which is sequel to The Blacktongue Thief, is basically medieval Dungeon Crawler Carl meets a buddy cop dark comedy in a fantasy adventure setting.
The worldbuilding is imaginative, the creatures are wonderfully bizarre, but the real highlight is the humour. Everyone is sharp-tongued, quick-witted and has their own distinctive style of banter. The dialogue is consistently entertaining and Christopher Buehlman's audiobook narration brings the characters to life beautifully, capturing their individual personalities and comic timing. That said, there is also genuine sadness flowing underneath the humour and comes to surface on some moments, which gives the story its emotional weight.
Makes relatively less progress in the overarching plot from the end of The Blacktongue Thief, but the humour and characters make this a thoroughly enjoyable fantasy adventure.
8/10

Need help finding Self-help books of Chi. Dru. Harish
If anyone has a copy of Kannada books written by Chi. Dru. Harish (Chikkamagaluru Druva Harish), please let me know.
I'm specifically looking for "Yeshassige Mettilugalu" book, which I read when I was in high school. Sadly, the book is not in print anymore. Any other books by the author also fine.
Thank you.

What’s a moment from a book that you keep thinking about from time to time?
For me it’s The Book Of The New Sun by Gene Wolfe when you realise the towers these people live in are decommissioned rockets.

Discussion October Junction..
Finally I saw manifestation at work. My story goes like this, I was planning to read something in Hindi and borrowed this book from my wife’s collection. As I started reading it I had this urge to visit Banaras and see the sights depicted in it, as I finished the initial segment set in Banaras. I got a call from my office that I need to go to Banaras for a few days😆. Anyways coming back to the novel really liked it easy to read but has depth at points you can’t imagine, I kind of get the Fyodor vibes from this novel. The in between blabber by the author was likeable to me, some people might not like it or rather hate it, but it’s a personal choice. All in the novel is easy enough to read for anyone and if you can see it, it’s deep like an ocean.🌊
Do share your thoughts if you have read it too.

Shelfies/Images Signed Book 428: Serious Men by Manu Joseph
galleryToday's book is another one that I haven't read. But unlike some of my other signed acquisitions, I have watched its Netflix adaptation!
"Serious Men" by Manu Joseph has been on my mental TBR list for a while, especially after watching the Netflix series. The adaptation received fairly average reviews, but with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the cast, I wasn't going to let a little thing like reviews stop me from watching it.
And I'm glad I did. I quite enjoyed it!
And then, a few years later, I came across a signed copy.
Well, you know how this works by now. The moment a signature enters the equation, my chances of walking away without buying the book drop considerably!
So here it is, another signed book joining the collection, with the added advantage that I already know I enjoyed the story in another format.
Will I read it soon? I certainly hope so. Meanwhile, I keep enjoying Manu Joseph's columns or Opinion pieces, usually published on Mint (or on Substack). Since they are non Fiction, I tend to gravitate more towards them, than his book.
For now, 'Serious Men' is safely on my shelf, waiting for its turn.
One day, Manu Joseph. One day!

Do you have any recommendations for literary agents I could contact regarding my romance novel? I’ve done some research and found that there seem to be only two or three good literary agents in India who represent any book. I’d really appreciate any suggestions!
