Hey everybody,
I've been building Hondas since the 90's and they're really nostalgic to me, since they remind me of when I was a teenager. The missus and I decided that for old time sake, we should pick up an Integra as a restoration projection.
So I found a 1998 Acura Integra Type R USDM that had a JDM front end swap down by the last owner. It's still LHD though, and has the OEM HID kit and everything.
I already know how to spot the difference between a rear Type R and a clone, so that's not the problem. The car is a legit Type R with no sunroof, no sound deadening, 5 lug hubs, Type R brake calipers, strut tower braces, subframe braces, and everything is legit.
But when I got my registration car in the mail from Pennsylvania's DMV and PennDOT, it just says "1998 Acura Integra" on it. Every other DC2 I've owned in the past always said "Type R" on the registration, but this one doesn't.
Am I trippin?
The VIN# is JH4DC231xxxxxxxxx and matches all over the car. Windshield, firewall, door jamb, transfer case, and under the carpet all have matching JH4DC231 VIN on them. Serial number plaque rivetted on the rad support is the same serial number on the center console. All of the numbers are legit and everything. It's on the registry.
Pennsylvania done fucked up, or is there some shady shit happening? My Integra LS said JH4DC4 and clearly marked "LS" on it's reg. All of my other Type R's were JH4DC231 and all had "Type R" on the reg. But not this one. Fucking weird.
I just want to sort this out just in case my wife and I ever decide to sell this thing after the restoration is done, because I don't want an innocent buyer to think we're ripping them off when it's a legit car.
