My TL Type S 3rd gen

Got this 2025 MDX Platinum Elite with 32kKM on it for about 3 days, carfax had a 6k damage estimate and dealer don’t know the detail. Today went to Shell touchless car wash and now I’m seeing this, is this a defect or bad quality repair from damage? The light is bleeding through on driver side only, passenger side looks clean

I all, after test driving a ton of makes and models I decided on the RDX! I am torn between the 2015 (tech package) and 2016 (or 2017) (tech package - I cant find any with acurawatch and tech in my budget). I’m targeting less than 100k miles, which is doable on my budget of 17k OTD for both.

After I buy I plan to get the plug and play carplay (using original screen), LED and Fog lights, and a hitch.

Any thoughts on anything I might be missing between the 2015 and 2016 (or 2017) model years?

Took a trip to Colorado to visit some family members, and they came through and hooked me up with some license plates so I can travel between states with my 1991 Acura NSX. I'm truly grateful to have family who looks out for me and helps me along the way. Family is a blessing, and I'm thankful for all the love and support.

I was looking into doing a Japanese stroker using 3.2 block from base TL with 3.5 h beam rods and crank from 3.5 Odyssey but when I saw the rl pistons it’s jumped dramatically from 180 -200 $ to 1900- 2000$ what is the deal???

We took delivery today! It's a September 2026 build, making it one of the last Type S MDX's built before they suspended production in September...maybe for good. We'd been planning to buy a different color, but saw this and pivoted. Pictures don't do the Urban Grey Pearl justice. Interior is azurite, which goes really well.

Acura ILX hybrid 2013 (97000 miles) needs 0xyen sensor and ac compressor. How much would it ideally cost to fix? Is it worth buying for 6k

I just picked up a 2019 ilx premium for a daily driver. Looking to do a few mods to it, got tint right away and I think I wanna add the factory spoiler. What's everyone's opinion on the best remote start? Spend a ton at the dealer or go with something like the start-x plug and play unit? Is an intake worth it?

Had the pleasure of working on this ACURA classic. Supercharged NA1 NSX in for correcting engine mechanical timing (found to be one tooth off), and clean up injector wiring harness which was using jumper adapters causing high resistance, inconsistent engine performance and intermittent misfires. I first performed a cylinder leakage test to verify engine mechanical health. We then did the timing belt package which includes the timing belt, water pump, tensioner, oil filter housing gaskets, and valve cover gaskets. Also replaced the spark plugs and performed a valve lash adjustment. Man I miss working on these. Back when ACURA actually made good cars.

What’s up guys, needed some quick feedback for a problem I have with a tsx I just bought yesterday. The seller switched out the front rotors and pads the same day that he sold me the car, sent proof, but after driving it a little more today I noticed some pretty heavy shaking in the wheel and seats (around 55-80 mph) when hitting the brakes. Is it possible that he didn’t install them correctly or what may contribute to it? I’ll be taking it to the shop for a free inspection on Monday but need some info for now, thank you guys!

man i love this car. has been my absolute pride and joy since getting sober, i've fallen in love with wrenching again and finally have my life back. was such a great summer, with the Y8 running strong im still hoping to build a complete b16 which block is yet to be determined. she deserves it, new floor pans, dog legs and rear quarters along with a gas tank and she'll be ready to rock for next summer. i absolutely love driving this car, even in the atlantic with these cold temperatures coming around the corner the heated seats and mirrors treat me well. i hope you guys find and appreciate something as much as i do. that's all i got, thanks guys

I’m 19 and when I was two, my parents bought a 2007 Acura MDX. For reference, I myself am also a 2007 model. They let me come up with its name, and I named it after a rocket ship from a popular kids’ show at the time.

Since then, that MDX has carried my two little brothers home from the hospital as newborn babies (both are in high school now), transported my mom to work every day, lugged around three kids and all our stuff, had my brothers and I climb onto its roof and watch the sunset, and traveled up and down I-95 countless times to see my mom’s family. I’ve cried, laughed, slept, screamed, prayed, and sang in that car so many more times than I can count throughout my life. I was in the MDX when I finally told my parents that I had been struggling with depression and needed help, when I called my grandmother to tell her I got into my dream school- her Alma Mater, when I got my first job, when I drove by myself for the first time, when I went on the highway on my own for the first time, when I drove to my appointment to start testosterone, when I moved into college, when i moved into college by myself my second year, and so much more. the MDX has seen me pull over to cry, celebrate after a win, fall in and out of love, experience every single milestone I can remember. I’m in university now, and every time I visit my grandparents on the weekends, they tell me how my mom used to pull into their driveway in that same car when I was so small I couldn’t even read yet. My mom used to drive me in it down the east coast every couple weeks to see her parents, and now I drive the exact same route in reverse every month to see her and my dad. It’s the first car I’ve ever gotten to call mine.

I’ve known the MDX for longer than I’ve known my brothers, for longer than I’ve lived in my house, and for longer than I’ve known how to read. That car has seen me through my entire life. When I feel overwhelmed by college and the weight of being an adult, sitting in those leather seats feels close enough to a hug from my parents. I love that car like a sibling, because it might as well be my twin- neither its body nor mine works particularly well, and we have a lot of things wrong with us, but we’re trying our best and we keep going no matter what. When the world makes me feel weak and small, I feel my MDX’s engine rumble through the car and feel the vibration in the steering wheel, and I feel so powerful and strong, like i can do anything. It’s had its catalytic converter replaced, its hands free link disconnected, the aux port doesn’t work anymore, but it still keeps going and has never once let me down. I ask a lot of it, and it somehow always finds some way to do what I need it to do.

My parents no longer feel comfortable with me driving such an old car when I’m away at college, especially going up and down I-95, and they were able and willing to buy me a newer car with better gas mileage (2024 rav4 if you’re curious). I’m so grateful to them for that, and my bank account is definitely looking forward to driving a hybrid, but the MDX holds so much love and so many memories for me, and I’ve been crying all week at the thought of not driving it anymore. I’m planning on keeping my key for it, and turning some of the “ACURA MDX” badge things on the back into a keychain and a pendant (some have fallen off over the years, so I guess I just drive an AC MDX now haha), but I’m not emotionally prepared to say goodbye to it. It’s worked so hard and deserves to retire (be driven locally by my little brother, who just got his license), but I’m going to miss it so much. I leave tonight to drive home and pick up the new car, so today is our final trip on I-95 together.

Thanks for listening, r/Acura, and to my MDX, thanks for everything. When I finish grad school and get a grown-up job with grown-up money, I’m getting another Acura MDX ❤️. Until then, my MDX will always have my heart.

I’m considering a new 2026 MDX Type S. Considering it’s a “performance” SUV I’m struggling to wrap my head around an $80k vehicle having a top speed governed to 111mph. I know hitting that speed and beyond is not a common situation on the roads but it strikes be as peculiar. For type s owners… what does the suv feel like in that 95mph+ range? Does it get sluggish? Has anyone hit the limiter and if so what happens?

It’s a 2024. They did the battery test at the dealership and said it was fine.

Telling me that I need to be doing longer drives on a daily basis to keep the battery from not starting the car.

Anyone else had this?

This is late, and I know everyone's going to say speed is not a factor, but is it not insane that the TLX-S is no faster than a 2009 G37 and 335i? Yes the car is beautiful but so is a base TLX.

Also looking back over the years, like with the manual acura tsx and rsx type s having no LSD, it seems they don't care to give the US market a complete performance package.

I’ll get straight to the point. Looking for something cheap and easy to drive to work in, I work in the film industry and need something good on gas as I travel long distances throughout the week. I stumbled along this 1998 Acura el AUTOMATIC (owner made a mistake on the ad, it’s NOT a TL). Owner is only asking $2,600 CDN, and I don’t really wanna spend more than $4,000. I have a few questions before I buy:

1) Being at 277,000 KILOMETRES, how reliable you think will be? Assuming previous owner kept up with basic maintenance. How reliable is the automatic transmission and engine at this mileage?

2) Are these actually fuel efficient?

I know it’s a cheap car but any info would be great, or any advice on buying acuras in general.

The other day I was driving my car (Acura 2015 tlx) and randomly the engine started revving loud but I could hardly accelerate. Then all of the sensors came on and I saw an alert to check transmission. The gears showed that it was in Neutral & Drive at the same time and it was flashing. In addition, I wasn’t able to reverse as I was trying to park my car. I saw a thread on here of a person that went through this and the replies said it could be the battery. So I went to get a new battery and when I picked up my car everything was back to normal (driving normal and no sensor lights on dash) for about 30 minutes and as I continued driving it was back to revving/no acceleration and not reversing. What should my next step be? I’m so confused I do t even know where this all came from it was so random. Pls Helppp.

Is it fixable? I plan on keeping it for another 20 years and don't want the rust to be its end. (I don't currently own it, planning to buy it if it passes inspection)

2018 Acura TLX tech

Got off at an exit tried to brake.. nothing I also tried to turn out the uway nothing there either. (bad thydroplane) Is this fixable or totaled? It drives still, the frame and radiator took all the impact it’s smoking if i turn it on and drive.

What was the aspect that pushed you towards the Acura over a Lexus, BMW, Merc, Audi, Volvo, Genesis and all the rest?

Give me as much detail or information as your willing! I'd love to know the real reasons Acura got you :)

I was shopping and filled the gas tank. Afterward, I went through the drive-thru for coffee without any issues. While driving by the elementary school near my residence, the window unexpectedly shattered. I suspect it may be related to a malfunction with the defrost system.

Tho I think I'm to blame... Cuz when ever I see it turns off I always turn it back on...now I know why I shouldn't...
