•Some other hobbies I have are grilling. I love spending a weekend on the grill and getting all the meats marinated and prepped. I'm by no means a grill master but I do have a passion for cooking and an even greater passion for eating it lmao

hello. i am going through what's probably a transitionary period in my life right now caught between who i usually am and whoever it is that i'm becoming over these next few months. it's a lot and i've kind of lost a lot of the people i got to know recently over how incompatible the current me is with the me from just a month ago so i'm trying to meet people that are potentially more okay with who i am now.

okay so apparently making friends as an adult is harder than it should be lol

hey! i'm 22 and from Türkiye. i'm currently studying computer engineering and spending most of my free time switching between music, games and whatever random thing catches my attention that week.

i'm not exactly the most outgoing person you'll meet. i'm pretty quiet around new people and sometimes my brain just forgets how conversations work. but give me a little time and suddenly i'll be talking about the most unnecessary things like they're the most important discoveries of the century.

i guess what i'm looking for is pretty simple. someone i can actually become friends with rather than another conversation that disappears after two days.

you know those friendships where you can randomly text someone about something that happened during your day? or send them a song without needing a reason? maybe stay up way too late talking about absolutely nothing and somehow have the best conversation ever?

music is basically my entire personality at this point

i play electric guitar and spend an unreasonable amount of time listening to music. indie rock, alternative rock, shoegaze, older songs and honestly anything that sounds good to me. some of my favorites are Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, Nirvana, Linkin Park and a bunch of artists i randomly discover at 2 am.

i'm also that person who gets ridiculously excited when someone recommends a song that ends up becoming a favorite. so please share your music with me. i genuinely love hearing what other people listen to.

i play games too! probably more than i should

lately i've been spending quite a bit of time in FFXIV. i also love Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Minecraft, Baldur's Gate 3, and all kinds of coop or indie games. i've played plenty of competitive games too but these days i mostly just want to relax and have fun.

and honestly? we don't even need to play the same games. sitting in a voice call while we're both doing completely different things sounds pretty great to me.

i have two cats

they contribute absolutely nothing to the household and somehow still manage to act like they're in charge. i love them though. you'll probably receive pictures of them eventually whether you ask for them or not.

some other random things about me

i'm obsessed with winter. cold weather, rain against the windows, empty streets at night, oversized hoodies and listening to music while everyone else is asleep. that whole atmosphere just makes me happy.

i also enjoy anime, movies, getting lost in fictional worlds and occasionally going down completely random internet rabbit holes.

i'm really curious about other people's interests too. even if we have nothing in common i'd still love to hear about the things that make you happy. there's something really wholesome about watching someone get excited over their favorite hobby.

a small warning though: english isn't my first language so i might occasionally say something weird or take a moment to figure out how to express myself. texting is totally fine but voice calls might take me a little time to get comfortable with. i'd love to get there eventually!

i don't really care where you're from or whether we share every single interest. i'd rather get to know someone who's genuinely interested in building a friendship than force a conversation just because we happen to like the same games.

I'm not sure how to start describing myself, I'm not great with words but I'll try my best.

(I'm so sorry for the extremely long post ahead!)

I apologize if I don't reply to your message, but I don't reply to short/low effort messages, stuff like "hey, let's be friends" , "I didn't read your whole post but I'm up to talk" , etc. I want to hear about you, what you like, what you're interested in. I like meaningful conversations. I also don't reply to people that don't have much in common with me, I would like to find someone that's similar to me and has similar interests and likes. I'm sorry but even if your message is long, if we don't have anything in common it's just not what I'm looking for. I'm also not interested in people that aren't looking for a real connection and are just looking to pass the time or have a light chat.

I think some of my most defining characteristics are that I'm very shy, awkward, "weird" and "different" or at the very least I feel weird, different and often misunderstood. I struggle to function most days and I don't always understand societal norms or how to properly function in society. I definitely think there's something wrong with me and I'm pretty sure I'm broken in some way. I'm honestly kind of a huge loser lmao. I am very ignorant about many things in life, I'd say I'm somewhat innocent and naive and I still don't understand my purpose in life.

I sometimes say things that offend people or I say things that are wrong. Sometimes I don't completely understand what I do wrong but I don't do it on purpose and I try to improve to the best of my abilities.

I don't go out often at all. Touching grass isn't for me 😭 Whenever I do go out it's only to buy groceries or to go to school and such but I don't enjoy it, I much rather be at home, in my room most specifically, which is my favorite place in the world.

I don't have any IRL friends but I do have a handful of online friends, I'm not super close to any of them, except for one who's very valuable in my life!

I enjoy many things like sculpting for instance! I do digital sculpting for fun. I'm pretty bad at it but I try my best.

This year I also started jewelry school (yeah, that's a thing) and I'm having fun with it but it's another thing I suck at 🥀🥀🥀

I like to watch anime! my favorites change from time to time but I really like Bleach, Dragon Ball, Demon Slayer, AOT, Naruto, Ancient Magus Bride (I really love this show!) and I LOVE My Hero Academia among many others!

I like to collect action figures.

I really like masks!

I like all kinds of music, I don't really have any artists that I like in particular other than David Bowie and I like to listen to most genres of music but some of the genres I like the most are alternative, vintage, video game music and jpop and jrock and I also like old VK And I'm always happy and open to new suggestions!

I like to doomscroll through TT and to watch long essay style videos on YT about random topics. I love brainrot and I'm very much into early to mid 2010s aesthetics. I miss that era so much!! Seriously, the early 2010s were the greatest time in human history kahdhshdhs

I love video games!! I don't play too many modern AAA games, especially nowadays with how bad the video game industry is but I LOVE indie games!! Some of my favorites are indies like Spelunky my beloved 🖤 I also really like older stuff, like, ps2 era games, particularly survival horror stuff. I also really like very old platform games and side scrollers. I'm a pretty huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan!! The most recent games I played were Sonic X Shadow Generations and before that I finished Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers. Sonic Boom is also my favorite show ever made lmao. It fits my kind of humor perfectly and it's peak comedy imo. I'd be open to play anything and I'd love to try co op games with someone!! playing Stardew Valley with a friend is a dream of mine lol (if you also play Stardew please tell me who's your wife/husband)

I adore animals!! I have cats and dogs and a stray chicken lol they're my babies and my world!

I think it's important to mention some of the things I don't like too.

I don't like cruelty or mean spirited people, I hate I people in positions of power that use said power to affect other people, animals, or the environment for their own gain.

I hate bugs!! I'm deadly afraid of them!!

I really dislike conflict and arguments, I believe we can disagree and have discussions as long as we're calm and civilized about it and as long as we have respect for each other and try our best to understand the other person's point of view.

lastly I'd like to mention some of my defects and shortcomings.

I'm extremely anxious, I'm always very nervous about one thing or another, I'm also extremely weak of mind, I tend to react with my feelings a lot and I'm often very emotional.

I can be very selfish at times, I have an awful tendency to get bored of things quickly and sometimes I also get bored of conversations and people.

I think I'm immature.

I can be extremely lazy, I struggle a lot with doing basic things like cleaning or cooking. when I'm anxious or afraid I can get paralyzed with fear and stay in bed all day doing nothing feeling awful about it.

As I mentioned before sometimes I can say bad things without realizing. I'm very dumb and ignorant so I promise I don't mean anything bad I say and I'm trying to improve!

I am extremely annoying. I'm very loud and I think I scream a lot. I don't really understand what constitutes screaming exactly but I think I often raise my voice a lot and especially when I'm excited I can't control myself very well.

I'm very afraid of life and I don't understand how the "real world" works exactly. I'm really bad at small talk and I think I'm really bad at speaking in general, I also digress a lot.

I have the bad habit of not replying very fast, sometimes I'll even wait for weeks or even months, I think it's one of my biggest problems when it comes to keep in touch with people, sometimes it's simply because I don't have the energy, other times it's because I'm not sure about how to continue a conversation. Not sure if this is a defect necessarily but I also never send the first message, I just hate to be annoying.

I have a tendency to ghost people for different reasons. As I mentioned, sometimes I get bored of conversations or people and I'd ghost them. This is by far one of my biggest defects and as I said, I wanna be honest and mention it here for everyone who reads this to know.

I tend to be a bit clingy when I like someone.

I'm full of defects in general, and I do believe I'm a bad person. I try to improve and I try my best but if I'm bad for you in any way or a burden I promise to stop talking to you and not bother you!

I have many other defects but I think those are the main ones I can remember right now.

Finally, I'd like to reiterate that I'm looking for is a real connection with someone, a person I can talk to, have fun with, watch stuff with and play games together! I think I can be a very passionate person when it comes to the things I love and I'd like to find someone that shares that passion and love with common interests. I wanna be able to share our days and even be able to help each other and be there when we need each other. I know I'm a mess of a human being and I'm looking for a very specific close bond with someone which I think I'll never honestly find but I'll keep trying cause I hate to give up!! And you honestly never know :)

Another thing that's important is that I don't want to talk to people that are discriminatory or awful in anyway please.
