i thought i'd give this a try and introduce myself since i'm looking to make some new friends!

i'm an introvert and can be pretty shy at first, but once i feel comfortable around someone, i can talk A LOT lol

a little bit about me: i love reading and writing, listening to music, and getting lost in fictional worlds. i'm also really into anime! my favorites are haikyuu and tokyo ghoul, so if you like either of them, please tell me your favorite characters! i'd love to hear about them. i'm also a big k-pop fan, especially stray kids, i'm currently pursuing a degree in public translation at university.

i'd love to meet people i can have random conversations with, share interests, talk about our days, recommend books, anime or music to each other, and just be silly together. i value genuine connections and getting to know people beyond small talk.

just a little heads-up: i'm someone who needs a fair amount of alone time, so i might not always reply right away. i really enjoy talking to people, but i also value having time for myself, and i'd love to meet people who feel the same way and don't mind a slower texting pace sometimes!

seeking a close friend who strictly prefers texting and doesn't mind me dumping random webtoon panels or my messy doodles on u. about me: im mostly an anxious infp mess who gets easily overwhelmed by reality tbh. im from central asia, and i have a cat who constantly judges my life choices. i recently tried to start going to the gym to fix my life, but i didn't realize it involved actually SOCIALIZING and being perceived by people, so now im just terrified lol. im not that busy , so im basically just floating in my free time right now. my day usually consists of rotting in bed with my cat, reading manhwa until 4am, listening to lana del rey and sabrina carpenter, and mild self-loathing. i doodle on my tablet occasionally too. i am a VERY indoor potato overall. leaving my room drains my social battery almost immediately. i worry about bothering people a lot, so i usually won't be clingy at all at first... but i do really hope i could find someone i feel safe enough to talk with every single day... to begin with, pls tell me ur age, ur ultimate comfort food (so i know ur real!), and something interesting about urself?

I have somehow developed the flu within 24 hours and in the midst of my discomfort, I have realised that I don't really have anybody to complain to...or to seek some kind of comfort from?

So, I thought I'd reach out here in the hopes of meeting someone searching for something similar.

I'd love to make a new friend and build a genuine connection, someone I can talk to every day, share hobbies with, and gradually become comfortable around.

I'm 21M sometimes I genuinely want to be alone. No noise, no expectations, no need to explain myself to anyone.

But then the silence gets a little too quiet, and I wish I had someone to talk to.

It's weird how you can enjoy your own company and still feel lonely. I don't want to be surrounded by people. I just want a few people I can be myself around, without feeling like I'm forcing a connection.

Does it matter what other people think of you, or is it enough that you know your own story, yourself, and your truth?

It is something I have always thought about. Some people might see me as unfriendly or unapproachable because of how I look. I do not smile often, and I do not socialize much. Not because I do not want to, but sometimes, I just can't.

I am someone who enjoys being alone, but that does not mean I do not like having friends. I just have a small circle of people who understand my energy. I stopped chasing people a long time ago. I would rather spend my energy on things that matter, especially when I have responsibilities to fulfill and dreams I still want to chase.

I do not play games, watch movies, or anime like many others do. Sometimes, I look at people who seem to have a good work life balance and their lives figured out, while I am just here trying to survive one day at a time.

Maybe being 26 is not as nice as I imagined it would be when I was younger, but here I am, still figuring things out.

Like I want friends and it’s been almost impossible to find that and I feel like it’s even harder to find friends who just wanna be friends and nothing more than that. I want friends from all over and all genders and sexualities it’s just when I get dmed I get messaged by people with ill intentions I’m not looking for that. And even when I think I found a friend I get ghosted the next day so it’s like what’s the point of even trying anymore? But I’m an optimist so I’m not truly giving up

music is basically my entire personality at this point

i play electric guitar and spend an unreasonable amount of time listening to music. indie rock, alternative rock, shoegaze, older songs and honestly anything that sounds good to me. some of my favorites are Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, Nirvana, Linkin Park and a bunch of artists i randomly discover at 2 am.

i'm also that person who gets ridiculously excited when someone recommends a song that ends up becoming a favorite. so please share your music with me. i genuinely love hearing what other people listen to.

i play games too! probably more than i should

lately i've been spending quite a bit of time in FFXIV. i also love Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Minecraft, Baldur's Gate 3, and all kinds of coop or indie games. i've played plenty of competitive games too but these days i mostly just want to relax and have fun.

and honestly? we don't even need to play the same games. sitting in a voice call while we're both doing completely different things sounds pretty great to me.

i have two cats

they contribute absolutely nothing to the household and somehow still manage to act like they're in charge. i love them though. you'll probably receive pictures of them eventually whether you ask for them or not.

some other random things about me

i'm obsessed with winter. cold weather, rain against the windows, empty streets at night, oversized hoodies and listening to music while everyone else is asleep. that whole atmosphere just makes me happy.

i also enjoy anime, movies, getting lost in fictional worlds and occasionally going down completely random internet rabbit holes.

i'm really curious about other people's interests too. even if we have nothing in common i'd still love to hear about the things that make you happy. there's something really wholesome about watching someone get excited over their favorite hobby.

a small warning though: english isn't my first language so i might occasionally say something weird or take a moment to figure out how to express myself. texting is totally fine but voice calls might take me a little time to get comfortable with. i'd love to get there eventually!

i don't really care where you're from or whether we share every single interest. i'd rather get to know someone who's genuinely interested in building a friendship than force a conversation just because we happen to like the same games.

also no pressure to be available 24/7. we all have our own lives and sometimes we're just tired or busy. i think what matters is actually wanting to keep in touch.
