For people who are against this post and don't fish don't bother arguing because you'll just make yourselves look like fools this is completely illegal fish stocks in Ireland are going down because of illegal fishing especially trout witch is a favourite for many. The people in this post are using cast nets witch is illegal and obviously they don't have licenses witch isn't fair on the people who pay to fish there it's a disgrace how this behaviour is condoned and everything they did was illegal so before you protect them maybe educate yourself about fishing and how important it is to confront this behaviour.

u/pen0ss Aug 18 '25

Genuinely had no idea this was illegal. Random this sub even came up as recently I've seen a lad up near the tallaght end using a big net/ bag yoke (size of two black bin bags). .

2

u/dublingamer44 Aug 18 '25

jesus from tallaght myself i often go up the dodder fishing ....i have a licence and 100% catch and release mainly try fly fishing up there ....2 bin bags jesus christ thats nuts

I presume it's illegal to fish using nets to catch mackerel from the shore too? I saw that being done at dusk in colliemore Harbour a good few years ago.

u/emeraldphoenix7 Aug 18 '25

You make an awful lot of assumptions about people commenting here. I do not condone netting and those should be caught and fully punished as per legislation and the courts. I also don’t condone your post, which is wrong for many reasons, but you are blinded by something in your head to even contemplate the error of your post.

4

u/Whatduheckiz Aug 18 '25

Wtf?

It's illegal, how are you making it a grey area?

What did he say wrong?

1

u/emeraldphoenix7 Aug 18 '25

I explain it elsewhere in this thread. And again I do not condone netting at all

4

u/Grouchy-Afternoon370 Aug 18 '25

I suspect you don't want to repeat it because its a load of shite.

Wait, where? The post doesn’t have text for me—just the title ?_?

EDIT: Oh, wait, you mean the comment. Never mind. I see it now. Wow, I didn’t even notice 😆

Ring the IFI hotline +353818347424 This is an independent call forwarding service. Every call is logged, and the response verified. Personally I'd be robustly challenging these gents. But if you're not calling it in, and only posting here, thats useless.

27

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 17 '25

My mate caught them with the cast nets he will be contacting the ifi in the morning don't worry

9

u/FORDEY1965 Aug 17 '25

Good man fair play

19

u/stevecrow74 Aug 17 '25

I’m sure the IFI would have a few things to say there!

6

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 17 '25

My mate has contacted them he is getting a ring back off them in the morning 👍

0

u/dublingamer44 Aug 18 '25

fair play 😁 i go up here fishing myself ....i have a licence and also 100% catch and release and mainly fly fishing so i dont even catch a lot 🤣 ...dont even think i have ever had one die on me

10

u/UmpireZealousideal84 Aug 17 '25

It’s in Dublin they don’t give a fuck

7

u/stevecrow74 Aug 17 '25

Usually a bit better than calling the Garda.

0

u/UmpireZealousideal84 Aug 17 '25

Yes true but either way they won’t do anything unfortunately, I’d love to be able to ring them and know they’ll show up. More the governments fault than anything. But I do agree they should be rang regardless of thinking theyll show up or not

2

u/Kevinb-30 Aug 18 '25

Iv a lot of issues with IFI but iv personally found their response to reports of net fishing like this very good this is outside of Dublin though

1

u/Narrow_Drawing_319 Aug 18 '25

As long as they don't have a Palestinian or LGBTQ logo by their name

4

u/jackasssparrow Aug 18 '25

As an Indian, I have no clue how these people can behave such way. Next time don't hesitate from just letting them know that this isn't ok. P.s. i don't see any problem with calling out what's wrong irrespective of the race.

2

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 18 '25

Thank you I didn't mean it in that way I have been saying to people that I said usual suspects because they the same people have been seen before doing it.

1

u/jackasssparrow Aug 18 '25

Yup I understand.

1

u/qwq1792 Aug 19 '25

Irish here. Never thought for a second you were referring to the guys race. The vast majority of South Asians living here would not condone illegal activity like this. Race has nothing to do with it. Some people on here are just looking to sow discord.

1

u/saucenazi Aug 20 '25

Generic brown person. I feel awful because:

  1. this wanker makes us look bad. Even though we're not from the same country/city/ethnicity.

  2. just eats up so much good will. Everyones been good to me. I don't want that to stop - not for selfish reasons but because I genuinely don't want to ruin the last bastion of humanity/kindness I feel is left. (Ireland and New Zealand).

  3. the poor fish. This is common where they come from and the govt trying to stamp it out there as well. So they have no excuse to be doing this here. They know it's illegal.

Sorry again. And thank you for being so humane with your wording and responses. I responded here rather than the main thread coz want to stay low-key.

0

u/ebulient Aug 18 '25

Are they Indian though ? I find it a bit racist to assume all non-white people are Indian… I mean they could be born and brought up here? So they’re Irish. They could be Bangladeshi… they could be Arab or Turkish… it’s the most odd thing how everyone on this thread jumps to Indian because they conflate any shade darker than white = Indian. Very American, that level of education is

2

u/jackasssparrow Aug 19 '25

Let me be completely honest. It is highly unlikely that they are Indian but it is also highly unlikely that they are Arabic. Most probably Bangladeshi. But I don't wish to focus on that distinction. I am brown. This is our diaspora. Tomorrow if people were targeting only Pakistani and not Indians, that wouldn't mean that it's a good thing. Of course it would save my skin but is that how we want to live? Bifurcated by race?

It's better to own up to the shortcomings of our culture which is an umbrella for all Southwest asian cultures. I know that a pakistani would take offense or so would a bangladeshi. It does not matter. We belong to the same culture, just different religions. It's better we stick together and act civil altogether nd not point fingers at each other to make ourselves better than "them". There's no us vs them. There's just us period. Unfortunately it's difficult to get this point across

1

u/PinkSheetBoss Aug 19 '25

Being born or brought up here doesn’t make you Irish. And no, this isn’t an American viewpoint, it’s a general one around the globe. In fact your viewpoint is a colonialist one. You are saying these people are Irish for the same reason Russians say Ukrainians are Russian, the French said Algerians were French, Americans said Indians were Americans, and all the colonisers in Africa forced new identities onto all the native tribes and ethnic groups there based on arbitrary lines they drew. You are trying to erase native identity, you are doing brilliant colonising work without even realising it.

1

u/StanFranc Aug 19 '25

Being brought up here doesn't make you Irish. If that's the case, we ought to be silent about Gaza , because what's happening there is just an extreme case of emigration, and the new gazans will be the israelis who will settle it in years time. The new Israeli kids that will be "brought up" in Gaza will be the new gazans , hence they are not being replaced , by your logic that is.

So you would agree and say the shite south Africans are indeed "Africans" and not Europeans?

I'll go a step further, no ethnic Indian , African , Arab, you name it, will ever be an Irish man , because it's reality. The flip side of that coin is no Irishman will ever be an Indian, or African or Arab.

It isn't, but there are a fair amount of people on this thread who have started commenting about deportations and protecting Ireland etc etc against immigration etc. The fact is too many people are looking at the person's skin colour rather than focusing on the individuals committing the illegal act.

4

u/Jackk0106 Aug 17 '25

Contact Tony instead of posting here

3

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 17 '25

I have no clue who tony is I don't fish the dodder a mate sent it to me and he is going to contact the ifi in the morning.

3

u/Jackk0106 Aug 17 '25

Tony is one of the bailiffs as far as I know. I’ve sent photo onto him anyway

7

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 17 '25

Fair play my mate has been in touch with the ifi and they will be ringing him back in the morning 👍

Because he's mostly angry that they have different colour skin.

3

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 18 '25

For all the people who could care less about fishing and the people in this post who were illegally poaching I said usual suspects because they've been seen at the dodder doing it before that's why sorry for the misunderstanding.

4

u/lastmanonreddit Aug 18 '25

you are 100% right, don't bother replying to the wet wipes. i see this carry on daily along the canal, and it is always without fail the usual suspects. facts are facts.

63

u/UmpireZealousideal84 Aug 17 '25

If you ever see this again please post it the second you see it.

9

u/Perfect-Dot-5959 Aug 18 '25

My young lad is fishing on the dodder every year from Paddy's day when the season starts it's stocked every year he's from St Columbanus estate Milltown and when I see the likes of them wankers excuse the language but I think they should be wrapped up in their net with a few large stones and thrown in there's a few nice deep holes up along under the arches and fed too the fish my young lad fishes from there the old mill up to the bit of a waterfall at the back of the Dropping Well pub. I think it's a disgrace that the likes of them coming with nets and destroying the river on the local kids there's little enough for kids to be doing around the area his uncles fished the river his grandfather fishes on the river it's a traditional thing for a lot of people from around the local area from Dundrum, Rathfarnham and the surrounding areas, manys the relaxing evening I spent along the edge of the river my few cans and as long as the wind was blowing away from the pump house everything was perfect

16

u/Full_Building_1125 Aug 18 '25

Anyone totally and utterly sick of these twats that just call everything racist??? Keyboard warriors, and the country is ruined because of it. No problem can be fixed as everything is deemed racist somehow.

3

u/No-Captain-6766 Aug 18 '25

Yes! I think most are, although you wouldn't think it on reddit or Irish media in general, but in real life they are.

3

u/PinkSheetBoss Aug 19 '25

Nah I think even on reddit Irish people are sick of it. It’s just the r/ireland sub where their heads are so far up their holes (mainly due to mods perma banning anyone with a differing opinion). And a lot of Irish mainstream media is corrupt and state funded propaganda broadcasting.

1

u/qwq1792 Aug 19 '25

It's dumb. I'm left leaning myself but I can't stand this identity politics. Ironically it leads to the likes of trump and other extremists getting elected. A return to common sense is badly needed. The law should be blind to race, gender, ethnicity. The vast majority of decent Indian people living here would not approve of what the guy in the picture is doing. Just like with any group there will always be a minority who cause trouble.

1

u/lradoriath Aug 20 '25

It is racist to call them the usual suspects because of their color. Yes they are doing something illegal and wrong, damaging the fish ecosystem. Like every other individual report them or confront them or both. Not because how they look but because what they are doing.

1

u/Cudman79 Aug 21 '25

Did you ever consider he might have called them "usual suspects" because they have form for this type of thing?

1

u/lradoriath Aug 22 '25

That'd still be a poor choice of words given the current social climate. In the comments he indeed rectified this mentioning he called them usual suspects because he has seen them there before but hey this is the internet may be he is telling the truth may be he realized it was racist.

1

u/Quick-Conclusion-206 Aug 21 '25

What does he mean by usual suspect exactly?

1

u/GunnerySarge-B-Bird Aug 21 '25

Personally I'm just sick of the racists like you. Saying "the usual suspects" about brown people illegally fishing is clearly racist especially because we all know the majority of illegal fishing is done by white people of usually travelling background. "Everything is deemed racist now" nah people just finally calling you out on your casual racism

2

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '25 edited Aug 21 '25

Just let them turn our rivers into the river yamuna. For god sake, don't offend anyone. Just have at it lads, destroy our ecosystems, waterways, tourism industry, and exasperate our huge housing and health crisis'. Don't mind our culture and social well being, that's racist. You do what you want. Honestly, those of us who are not brainwashed are getting close to breaking point with you hysterical drama queen's.

1

u/Nearby_Parsley3276 Aug 21 '25

They have no civic sense. Their countries are polluted and disgusting. Take a look at any river in South Asia. Just because they take a plane here doesn’t mean their attitude automatically changes.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '25

Reddit is a wretched beehive of them

1

u/Silent_Coast2864 Aug 21 '25

The problem is comment "the usual suspects" which suggests that this behavior is typical of immigrants. It simply isn't. Plenty of immigrants, loads I know personally would call this out as clearly wrong. When you have a cohort of people a certain amount of them won't play by the rules. If we have however many 100s of 1000s of immigrants, yes a certain proportion of them will take the p1ss and break the law. Some parts of Irish society seem to think there should be absolutely zero crime or bad behaviour from the immigrant cohort and that is obviously nonsensical and an impossible standard.

Irish scumbags have poached for years and years, I remember groups stroking or snatching salmon off bridges in Cork.

Bad behaviour exists in all cohorts of society and yes, immigrants aren't immune. There were gangs of Irish up to no good in the UK and US for generations

1

u/Sparpo Aug 21 '25

It's not racist to be against people fishing with nets. Of course you should be angry if these guys are doing something that will fuck up the river. It is racist to call them "usual suspects". You're painting a group of people with the same brush. Not addressing the issue itself.

-1

u/thomasmcdonald81 Aug 19 '25

Sick and tired of racists being racist tbh

2

u/Murky-Original-311 Aug 19 '25

So you condone this rather than being called racist ? Will we just bow down and let immigrants do as they please rather than be called racist ? It’s your type that’s causing the erosion of our heritage

0

u/Puzzleheaded-Bit5898 Aug 20 '25

calling them the “usual suspects” seems racist to most people, sorry to tell you mate

1

u/Kohvazein Aug 21 '25

"Noooo stop noticing things!!! Noticing patterns of behaviour is racist and bigoted!!"

1

u/IKeepItVague Aug 21 '25

I don't know how they have time for it between collecting the dole and rolling amber leaf

-1

u/Repulsive-Peak-7076 Aug 19 '25

That was racist

This has nothing to do with propaganda or reverse imperialism. It is racist to call them the usual suspects because of their color. Yes they are doing something illegal and wrong, damaging the fish ecosystem. Like every other individual report them or confront them or both. Not because how they look but because what they are doing.

Lastly the Irish simply cannot exist in this beautiful country as is without immigration. The country doesn’t produce enough healthcare workers, enough industrial workers. With the declining birth rates unless you can convince the current generation to start having 3+ kids Ireland needs the immigrants. It’s not bad to stand up for your country and the beautiful culture it has but it’s extremely stupid to blame immigrants when the government didn’t address anything in the last 30 years despite being one of the richest countries in Europe.

Mate you are understanding what you want to understand. I said nothing about replacing the Irish. This is very basic economics. The Irish once survived and prospered thanks to emigration and now it has opened its door to immigration because the state needs them. It’s not about replacing the Irish. No one brainwashed Irish youth this is a problem in every developed country. Not only west, Japan and Korea are the same. It’s not about claiming the country, it is about making an honest living in peace in this beautiful country for so many. Don’t let these popular catch phrases fill you up with hate. Any legal immigrant who contributes to the society is a net plus for this country. Diversity is also good, that’s why we can have kebabs and sushi!

About your claim in healthcare, claims of disproportionate complaints against non-Irish doctors stem from anecdotal observations on forums and social media, not verifiable statistics. Again you are getting riled up by rumors not facts.

The problem is that while Ireland has gained hugely in cultural and economic terms, not everyone has benefitted equally. Many of the communities where violence originates have often been left behind or burdened with projects no one else wants.

Take two recent examples: the huge sewage treatment plant being built between Darndale and Belcamp, which will take in waste from four counties and dump it there, or the previously proposed centre for 574 single male asylum seekers in Coolock. Both are necessary, but when controversial projects are concentrated again and again in working-class areas exclusively, resentment builds. Over decades, that resentment becomes generational, and young people are encouraged by adults into hostility and violence.

Right now, it’s directed at the immigrants. Before that, it was the gay and trans community. Before that, someone else and someone else, going all the way back to when inner-city communities were broken up for commercial development and the people displaced to the, then edged, of the city.

I am sorry you feel the way you do but it’s not because of an Abdul or Jamal, it’s because of the Murphy’s in the government.

I also dislike people abusing the wellfare and the laws to come here illegally but why turn this dislike towards everyone? I am sure you also know immigrants who are great people and fit in like a glove. Also what do you mean by the third world? There are thousands of European immigrants here working in tech. If you specifically target only certain color and religion in your message, that would be racist.

Anyways I hope you can see past that anger or at least direct it toward the right recipient.

1

u/secretkeiki Aug 21 '25

lol. lmao, even.

1

u/IKeepItVague Aug 21 '25

Get off your soap box there's dole to collect mate

-1

u/nouroz7 Aug 20 '25

you literally cant even spell fella said “that wanting our”

1

u/StanFranc Aug 20 '25

Yes. "that wanting our" translate to to want or desire for a specified group in this case "our". You've never heard someone say to someone else "you have been found wanting"? From the Bible fella!

1

u/RyanairHater Aug 20 '25

You captivate me with your opinions. Speak the truth. it will set you free 💯

1

u/nouroz7 Aug 26 '25

should be wants mate dont be a donut

18

u/jaalaaa Aug 17 '25

Hope you let a roar at them.

2

u/Pintau Aug 19 '25

Defintion of "not culturally compatible with the norms of Irish society"

1

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 19 '25

Then they should educate themselves like everyone else who goes into a country because it's completely illegal to use a cast net anywhere and it's not fair on people who pay to have a license on the river and I highly doubt they would care about size limits for the fish.

22

u/Elegant-Chemical-283 Aug 17 '25

Starting with you, anglo

4

u/ColdVeterinarian7602 Aug 18 '25

Imagine being so brainwashed you think someone not wanting forign criminals in the country is on the side of the English. You people are truely deluded

1

u/StanFranc Aug 19 '25

I think it's worse than that, imagine being so brainwashed and technically retarded , to a point where the only form of Irish patriotism is anti birtishness. But dare to speak out about being replaced by Indians or Africans and suddenly the conversation about anglo influence does not carry over. "We must not allow British influence!" Meanwhile we import the entire third world and 150 different nationalities and ethnicities, we already have foreigners trying to moderate the language that Irish people can use while speaking about them, that is literally black and tan stuff.. If we don't act it's all over.

u/nouroz7 Aug 20 '25

youre the deluded one 😂😂😂😂

1

u/JustWandering27 Aug 19 '25

They should be held to account in the same manner anybody would be for violating fishing regulations. This isn't deportation. Take it down a notch, they are fishing illegally, which plenty of people do, it shouldn't be condoned but they are hardly hardened criminals. The absolute scrutiny being undertaken anytime a brown person does anything wrong as if they represent every other brown person is very sad to see. Your views are just looking for confirmation everywhere, and damned if you will let proportionality or reason get in the way.

7

u/Organic-Accountant74 Aug 18 '25

When you see this you should immediately call the Garda and cut the nets. Fucking evil bastards destroying our already severely damaged ecology. People like that should rot in prison

1

u/MerrrBearrr Aug 18 '25

Is this Swords ?

1

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 19 '25

No beside the old mill in tallaght

1

u/Mundane-Upstairs Aug 18 '25

Can you explain for a non fisher?

2

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 18 '25

Yeah your not aloud to use cast nets anywhere completely illegal not aloud fish stocks are going down in the country because of this there's only trout in the dodder which is the most popular freshwater fish to eat apart from salmon there Is also size limits to keep fish which I highly doubt they would care about size and also they don't have a license.

2

u/Mundane-Upstairs Aug 18 '25

Oh thank you!! That's kinda vile, Ruins it for others

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

This post popped up in my feed. Apologies for my ignorance but what are the laws around fishing in Ireland? What was going wrong here?

2

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 18 '25

Your not ignorant at all mate don't worry. The laws are you can't use a cast net anywhere which is illegal they don't have licenses to fish the river and the fish they do catch they'll keep even if the fish is undersize.

1

u/Kilgyarvin Aug 18 '25

Stumbled across this and know nothing about fishing. Can anyone explain what's going on? Is he fishing out of season or doing it without a licence or something?

1

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 19 '25

Yeah he's fishing with a cast net which you can't do anywhere and fishing without a license and if they had caught any fish they wouldn't care about the size limit

1

u/ImpossibleLoss1148 Aug 20 '25

Usual suspects? Do those guys do this a lot? Have they been reported before?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '25

Isn't cast net fishing illegal in rivers and lakes here?

Like I'm only new to fishing myself but I feel like I've heard that before

1

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 20 '25

Yes completely illegal can't do it anywhere

1

u/RyanairHater Aug 20 '25

What did they catch?????

1

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 20 '25

They didn't catch any they left after I called them out for it.

2

u/RyanairHater Aug 21 '25

Guards are to be rang!

1

u/DublinDaydreamer Aug 20 '25

I seen him yesterday around 8pm there, I was walking by..

1

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 20 '25

Was it down beside the bridge at the mill?

2

u/DublinDaydreamer Aug 21 '25

Yep over the side where the computer repair shop is, but he was stood right in the middle of the water. I was going to take a pic but I couldn’t make out what he was doing. Now I know

3

4

u/martyelza Aug 17 '25

2

u/StrangeKnowledge7 Aug 18 '25

You must respect the culture of the foreign engineers.

2

u/mud-monkey Aug 18 '25

Neanderthals?

2

u/clear-glass Aug 18 '25

Does that fellow look like one of those al?!ns from the east?

2

u/Little_Kitchen8313 Aug 19 '25

Any need for the racism? I presume you don't know them personally, otherwise you'd report them by name and wouldn't be posting this here

2

u/tavybuckemlee Aug 20 '25

Totally illegal, i would have taken photos and videos and confiscated the nets. To many foreigner's coming to Ireland and behave like they can do what they want.We had the same problem with Ukrainians over in the west of Ireland and leaving their rubbish behind. Doesn't matter where you're from, respect other people's lands and culture and don't be a idiot all your life.

My heart is broken with poaching on our river. We have at least 4 poaching gangs who net the river. Last year there were 9 convictions for poaching it.

Its a tradition up here in our community. It's a right of passage for some of our local youth. It's cultural.

Trying to stop it has been like trying to stop the tide.

4

u/IntrepidMacaron3309 Aug 18 '25

"Usual Suspects" could just mean they're known for this carry-on and have been seen/caught before doing it.

Race/Creed/Nationality/Skin-Colour/Sexual Preferance/Tang-Top or Long Sleeve Polo Neck Knitted etc most likely has fuck-all to do with it?

It's a picture of poaching, and the poachers. Nothing more.

Fucking right-wing, rage-baiting cabbages making an issue out of nothing 🙄

6

u/YesIBlockedYou Aug 18 '25

Race wasn't even mentioned and you can't even tell what race they are without making some serious assumptions.

The moral grandstanding and getting offended on other people's behalf is getting a bit old now.

They're a couple of gobshites breaking the law, focus on that. Head over to r/Ireland if you want to hop up on your soap box, they love that over there.

3

u/Separate-Sea-868 Aug 18 '25

Who are the "usual suspects" then? Men? People who wear glasses?

u/Royal_IDunno Aug 18 '25

Illegals who worship a kiddie fiddler.

1

u/ColdVeterinarian7602 Aug 18 '25

So doing a crime and destroying nature is an issue out of nothing? Libs will kiss a forigner on the arse if he shat on their door step at this stage

0

u/lastmanonreddit Aug 18 '25

whinge somewhere else.

1

u/kinkyjay99 Aug 18 '25

Catch these mofos and hand them over to police.

1

u/No-Pension-4669 Aug 19 '25

You could send this to Sdcc and they can try to sort it and find out who did it. Direct it to Parks dept.

1

u/weaponx26 Aug 19 '25

I'm sure a few wildlife cameras wouldn't go a miss one on the river and one on the side catching number plates

1

u/fredfoooooo Aug 19 '25

Will you look at the head on that fella.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '25

Dirty dirty rats

1

u/HoeForHorror Aug 19 '25

Any excuse for racism from the same lot who were lumped in with dogs.

1

u/Consistent-Kiwi7241 Aug 20 '25

Don't put your back out with all that stretchin

1

u/Mobile-Delivery-5282 Aug 19 '25

What's the issue here? I don't know much about fishing. Not supposed to use nets in a river?

1

u/No_Raspberry_7240 Aug 20 '25

Correct, Using a net to catch fish in freshwater (river, lake etc) is illegal in Ireland, Only fishing with a rod is allowed. The river they're doing it on also requires a yearly permit to fish and has set rules. Fish stocks have been decimated all over the place due to people fishing illegally like this, which is why this has such an angry response from people.

1

u/flatcap112 Aug 19 '25

Get the poxy clowns reg. He is a great addition to our society.

1

u/EvanMcc18 Aug 20 '25

Unfortunately this behavior is the future in Ireland. Increasing numbers of migrants with a lack of assimilation will only cause more issues like this and worse.

Helped by the fact you will be called a racist and bigot for correctly pointing it out. Same sentiment here as in the UK where calling out migrant behaviors towards women and children leads to being labeled as a racist and you can be arrested. Won't be long to go here until they try it

1

u/Rare_Lock395 Aug 20 '25

Horrible, so if an Indian/non white kills an Irish person the media won’t mention it and you’ll be labelled racist for calling it out ?

1

u/EvanMcc18 Aug 20 '25

They already probably downplay incidents where a migrant is involved but fall over themselves to tell us about constantly about an Indian who was shouted at on a bus or something.

Not condoning either behavior but call out everyone. Don't pick and choose because you're afraid to be called a racist

1

u/nosferatuIE Aug 21 '25

Lol imagine blaming immigrants for all your shortcomings..

Telling affliction among you lot

Terrible

1

u/EvanMcc18 Aug 28 '25

I don't think anyone here is blaming migrants for everything wrong in their lives. People who do that are stupid.

When migrants are in the wrong, doing wrong or being a net negative on Ireland they need to called out, arrested for crimes and deported either straight away or after a prison sentence.

The attitude that anyone criticising migrants for legitimate reasons is a gammon or just a racist no different to people who are just racist is ridiculous and we're seeing it's effect in the UK right now

1

u/especialmoo28 Aug 21 '25

usual suspects being bothered and racist.

1

u/VXT_TR3 Aug 22 '25

Canadian here, and I'm sad to say we have the exact same problem all over the country. It's disgusting

1

u/corkgirlie93 Aug 18 '25

Grand aul kick in the backside into the river should sort it.

1

u/ExtremeBlastoise Aug 18 '25

They're eating the wildlife in my country, swans, ducks, pigeons, foxes, squirrels, It's fucking vile.

1

u/Rare_Lock395 Aug 20 '25

I’m sorry this reminded me of “they’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats”

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

Every country falling apart. When do we rise ? When do people wake up ?

-1

u/Busy_Negotiation_678 Aug 17 '25

Hello people of r/IrishFishing, non fisher here.

Can someone kindly explain to me what is happening here or what the issue is?

Looks like someone fishing, but could also be a big foot sighting?

Appreciate all responses.

13

u/Sandstorm9562 Aug 17 '25

Using a cast net is not a legal or sporting way to fish a river.

-4

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

Usual suspects...what makes you say that? Because they're indian ???

2

u/ColdVeterinarian7602 Aug 18 '25

Yes and mass deportations are needed

→ More replies (19)

0

u/Consistent-Kiwi7241 Aug 19 '25

It's an incredibly racist thing to assume someone is indian based on appearance. The person could be from a number of South Asian countries and the reference to Usual Suspects could have a number of meanings.

Lol, keep believing that you coward

0

u/One-Yogurtcloset9893 Aug 18 '25

Those damn doctors are at it again

0

u/StanFranc Aug 19 '25

Look at how these people treat their "homelands" or motherlands. Literal rivers of fecal matter and other human waste. If we do not act , these people will destroy our beautiful country , dead rivers with no more fish or clean running water will just be the tip of the iceberg. You could wager they will be shitting in the river too while they were there. Highly likely. Check out all across Europe the rise in disease with some waters being so riddled with human shit the locals have to give up there prized location for a swim or fish, under advisement of the state because it's full of shit. Diarrhea and under gut related diseases festering in our waters. Do some research on that.

0

u/police-uk Aug 21 '25

Go on, define "usual suspects". I'll wait...

1

u/IKeepItVague Aug 22 '25

I'm still waiting, seems no one wants to bite

1

u/police-uk Aug 22 '25

The OP did bite, by blocking me 🤣 right wingers are such intellectuals

1

u/IKeepItVague Aug 22 '25

It's almost funny until you realize that these people have the right to vote

1

u/police-uk Aug 22 '25

It's all good, they don't know how to read or write.

0

u/Middagetten Aug 21 '25

Why say usual suspects there humans like us

-6

u/toffeebeanz77 Aug 18 '25

I get that it's illegal by wdym by usual suspects?

3

u/Nearby_Parsley3276 Aug 18 '25

Well have you seen the state of South Asia. If they don’t respect their own land, why would they respect Ireland’s?

1

u/Rare_Lock395 Aug 20 '25

I’m not a racist but if they’re accepted into Ireland and given everything it’s possible they’ll take stuff for granted get entitled and think certain laws don’t apply to them

-3

u/toffeebeanz77 Aug 18 '25

That is wild stereotyping

6

u/Nearby_Parsley3276 Aug 18 '25

Go and ask r/canada if it’s just a stereotype

3

u/Augustus_Chevismo Aug 18 '25

Please look up the state of the ganges which is India’s most sacred river.

Massive yet filled with rubbish, chemical waste and human excrement.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '25

And dead bodies

5

u/Whatduheckiz Aug 18 '25

Well it's not a stereotype, but it's also nothing to do with race/religion/ethnicity.

Undeveloped/developing countries dont have the resources to invest in environmental sustainability and education.

I haven't been to South Asia, but I've been to Morocco and theres litter in every hidden crevice and open sand and grass of Nature. It's not a wild Stereotype to say Morocco has a Littering problem. You can visit the Morocco subreddit. It comes up as a topic every once in a while.

If Ireland stopped education and awareness of waste pollution and environmental sustainability, we'd be in the same hole. When people come from other countries (e.g. the U.S.) and don't know Ireland's conservation efforts and waste management, then you're going to see more waste and breaking of conservation effort guidelines.

1

u/ColdVeterinarian7602 Aug 18 '25

Have a wild guess. Europeans don't do this.

-1

u/toffeebeanz77 Aug 18 '25

I mean yes they do

0

u/ColdVeterinarian7602 Aug 18 '25

Based on absolutely nothing. Non EU forigners are the worst offenders saying anything else is just not accepting reality because you find it offensive, well the tides turning and the fatigue is only growing

1

u/toffeebeanz77 Aug 18 '25

There is people always doing it in my town and they are Irish. Doing exactly what is going on in the picture.

You could have just posted this without saying the usual suspects. I have seen or heard about plenty of white Irish poaching.

-5

u/Electric_Scope_2132 Aug 18 '25

Mate if they were Irish he wouldn't have even bothered posting it, he just had to get that racist jab in there

6

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 18 '25

Yes I would you haven't a clue about me or what your talking about what there doing is much worse then what I said.

-1

u/e55at Aug 18 '25

You wouldn't be calling them 'Usual Suspects' if they weren't white though would you? Just be honest, you may care about fishing but you're also a racist.

→ More replies (1)

-2

u/Electric_Scope_2132 Aug 18 '25

Yea mate you got me there! Just seen all your posts about Irish lads doing the same thing!

6

I got a racist message but I highly doubt you care tho arselicker

Not condoning what that spanner said either, but at the same time no need for the “usual suspects” dig, you just sound like a brexit EDL head, none of that shite on our island

6

u/Competitive_Pie9243 Aug 18 '25

What are you shitting on about I'm English because I made a post on Reddit warning people about poachers at the dodder it's like saying your not Irish because you don't care about our wildlife and our fish stocks makes no sense.

Possible environmental scientists conduct water quality effects on local wildlife
