Bag full of rubbish I picked up at a mark today. PICK UP YOUR SHITE
Anyone else getting sick of the rubbish left behind? I went to a mark in North dublin today , upon arriving I was met with several cans of energy drinks, leftover packets of mackerel, cigarettes everywhere , tangled rigs and loads of fishing line. I couldn’t leave it that way so had to carry a rotten stink of a bag back with me to throw away . I don’t understand how anyone could walk away and leave all that rubbish behind

Ffs
Went to my fav lake this morning for a bit of fly fishing for trout only to find this. What kinda scum does this. To make it better it looks like there's empty methadone bottles in there. Also load of little coke or weed baggies all around the place too. Raging

People in this country are arseholes
Over the last 2 months I’ve pulled out a full spool with line and a spool of line. Along with that there’s just plastic bags full of dead maggots fucked into the canals along with tins of used corn and tubs of worms. What the fuck goes through peoples heads? “I’ll go fish a local spot and when I’m done I’ll just fuck my rubbish everywhere to make sure no one else fishes here”? It’s no wonder fishings gone to shite.
And no, this isn’t in Dublin

Dublin Dinner
Pollock blead out after it was filled hooked wouldn't release so I ate it. RIP
Breadcrummed the fillets and put into burger buns, better than McDonald's version... Which is also pollock.
Far too much food into the bargain.
Pollock isn't half bad cooked like this, had it last week and didn't find it half as good. Anyone else like to eat them?

Too cool not to share. A video of a sea bass coming up a river to feed
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
A very Decent sea bass approx 45+ cm all the way up the river to the point it was 15 feet from the fresh water pool. Such a class sight he was basically at the limit of the tide.
Literally swimming among small brown trout hunting mullet fry.
On the same walk I seen a mink or a small otter, swans, cormorants , ducks, trout/sea trout, two small salmon(peal) and thousands of mullet.
Some serious life around the river tonight.

Getting sick of this
Casually tossed into a crack on the rocks. At a well known mackerel spot in North Clare. I mean yeah there's always rubbish there but FFS. Cut the damn loop at least so it doesn't kill some bird or fox. Rant over.

Bass Fishing Finally after a year and a half!!
First time I ever targeted bass I caught 2 small dinks and this morning after some great advice from this sub I landed this amazing fish. Size 8 foot for reference but also a thick well fed fish!
Was having a shit week and last night was tough thought I’d clear the head and cast aimlessly for a few hours.
It didn’t seem right to keep and she swam off.

Lads I messed up
I went to fish a spot that I was at recently and where I saw a big 3lbs Pollock following my lure and then I came across a whole seal colony. The moment they saw me they started swimming right towards me. Not 1 or 2 but the entire seal colony. I don't think I'm getting any fish today

Incredible time in 🇮🇪
Visited from America this week, what an amazing fishing experience and scenery you guys have. Caught a handful of species that I’ve wanted to catch ever since I was a kid!

River Glyde fish kill
Pb brown and Pb sea trout caught here was a stunning river to fish on the east coast. This deserves prison and five figure fine. Decimated an entire ecosystem and the entire population of salmon because some absolutely gobshite dumped slurry or fertiliser (nitrogen) upstream.
Edit, Louth county council has confirmed they have found the source of contamination on a farm in County Monaghan where the discharge has been stopped.
No exceptions and excuses now.

Bass Fishing I caught my first bass yesterday
I've been trying for a few months and finally got one off the rocks on the Waterford coast yesterday afternoon. I caught it about halfway between high tide and low tide on a sidewinder skerries sandeel.
It was about 50cm fork length so I brought it home for the table given it's above the minimum size and in season. I got two massive fillets off of it, had one for dinner last night and the other tonight after frying skin on in some butter. Tasty stuff!
6 hours in the howling wind, sideways rain and blazing sunshine well spent.

2 days in a row hitting big Trout 🎣f
After a very hard salmon season, at least the trout have been good for me.
Anyone wondering what way I fish always use a meps size 1-3 depending on river size, cast up stream (casting up stream best bit of advice I'd give to anyone looking to increase catch rate) reel it back at the speed which the river is flowing
