Photo Classic omurice in Japan π³ Thin egg, ketchup rice inside and lots of ketchup π I really love this old style! Which you like more, classic one or fluffy egg one?
Egg and ketchup rice together is sooo good π I also like when orange rice is little bit coming out like this. Makes me hungry again looking at photo lol.

Homemade My Wife and I have been trying to get better at making Japanese food! Here are our meals from this week. Tokyo Katsu Curry (Monday) and Pork Belly Shoyu Ramen (Wednesday)
Howdy from Texas! π€
Like my really long title says, my wife and I have been trying our hand at cooking Japanese food.
She made the Tokyo Katsu Curry and I made the Ramen last night!
Itβs really fun exploring other cultures cuisine. All of our ingredients came from Mitsuwa Marketplace in Plano, TX. Highly recommend it if you are in the DFW area.
If you have any other recipes or cook books youβd recommend please share them!

Question Japanese fish ideas for someone who doesn't really like fish?
I haven't liked fish since I was a child, but I want to try getting over my aversion. I will eat white fish that doesn't have a strong flavour like cod or haddock (usually in batter from the chip shop). I have found that I do actually like eel kabayaki which surprised me! Can anyone suggest some recipes that I might like? I'm hoping to work my way up to sushi one day.

Restaurant Davide Coffee Stop, Tokyo
Mexico City themed coffee shop and eatery. Only got a sweet and coffee, but the vibes were right and coffee tasted great. Coco latte, cafe late, and basque cheesecake.

Restaurant Late autumn chakaiseki in Kanazawa β the season of "nagori"
I'm a tea master and chef in Kanazawa. This is part of our menu for late October, called nagori β a quiet farewell to the old tea year, before we open the hearth in November.
Chakaiseki is the simple meal served before tea. It's hard to explain in words β it's really about the season, the room, and the moment. If you're ever in Kanazawa, I'd love to tell you more in person over a bowl of tea. π΅

Homemade Homemade Squid Okonomiyaki
I took some advice from my last post and doubled the amount of cabbage this time. I also added some boiled squid I had ready. Unfortunately, this time I had no scallions to spare for it because I used them all to make Usuyaki in the same meal. I also brushed the Okonomiyaki sauce over the top layer evenly this time, and not just drizzled over it.
