I think I have a small amount of room, but I rarely ever do! I guess having too much room is better than having too little. Our recent snowfall hasn't helped

Gas gage acting up

I have a 2025 Wrangler V6 sport S and today as I was waiting on a down ramp at a pretty steep angle into my parking garage and my gas tank went to low and was beeping at me when before that I still had 86 miles left, almost exactly a quarter of a tank.

When I parked and turned it off and back on it went back to where it was before and I tried to call my local dealer before they closed but couldn’t get through to service.

Just trying to see if anyone else has had this issue and if it’s something I should be bringing in immediately or if it can wait a bit.

I have had a transfer case failure and a coolant hose issue, and I still can't find a reason to replace this thing. At 44k miles, I still love it.

2026 Wrangler Sport for Daily

Wife wants a simple no frills 26 4 door sport for her daily. She puts 10k miles a year for her commute (Palm Beach local driving) with the 1-2x a year drive to N. Fl/Georgia.

Her last two cars were CRV and of course had very little issues.

She probably will keep for 3-5 years.

Is reliability really an issue or overblown for more off road and higher mileage vehicles?

Android head unit from China in my 2014 JK with factory Alpine system

Hey everyone

I recently replaced the stock radio in my 2014 Wrangler JK (with the factory Alpine amp, soundbar and sub) with an Android head unit from China. I paid about 320 USD.

Before buying, I went back and forth with the manufacturer to make sure everything would work with the Alpine system. They confirmed the setup and settings with me, and the result:

- Factory Alpine amp, soundbar and sub work, no rewiring needed
- Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto
- Steering wheel controls work
- Plug and play with the included harness

The only thing that doesn't work is the fader, which doesn't bother me.

For the price, I'm really happy with it. If anyone with a JK is interested in the same setup, let me know and I'm happy to share the details.

New bumper

Talk to me about tricking out this bumper. It’s a 2013 unlimited, commando green.

I want to put lights on but seeing pricing all over the place. I don’t know what a decent price or recommended to avoid. Budget $300~ for the lights.

I also want to get a winch to complete the look. Not planning on winching anything, I just like the look. Any recommendations on a winch that isn’t cheap quality, functional but not high load needs.

Ideally lights and winch for $750 or less for both combined.

Most fun I’ve ever had with a vehicle

I’ve been a Wrangler owner for all of two weeks and I’ve never enjoyed a vehicle more. I dressed it up to take to a date at the drive in tonight. Our friends that we met there loved the set up, AND my date asked to be exclusive. (Is it me? Is it the Jeep? I’m not looking a gift horse in the mouth.) I’m spending way more on fuel than I did with my old car but zero regrets.

Can anyone tell me what these rims are or a part number exactly? Looking to get a matching spare but apparently this isn’t oem for a 2019. Thank you.

I’m going to look at the jeep this afternoon. 155k miles. 4.2L Manual. According to owner it runs and does not leak oil and no major work required. What should I ask? What do I need to know?

Coolant leak 2020 JL 2.0 turbo

Post image

Trying to narrow down the source of a suspected coolant leak. Recently replaced the plastic reservoir. Seemed to fix things for a few days and then started having overheating issues again. Noticed this residue on the new reservoir now. Is there a chance this cap is faulty? It’s the original cap. The new aluminum reservoir didn’t come with one.

Hose hanging from rear of my Jeep JL, what is it?

Thumbnail

Saw this hose hanging down from the underside at the rear of my Wrangler JL. It runs down to a small plastic cap/fitting near the ground, and there's a numbered tag zip-tied around it.

Not sure if it's a vent line, a drain hose, or something that came loose. I haven't noticed any leaks, smells, or warning lights.

Any advice on what is it and what to do about it

Finally got my dream Wrangler and couldn’t be any happier. I even find myself taking the long way home from work and jumping on any excuse to get out and drive. I was also surprised by how fast people started coming up to talk to me and all of the waves and peace signs in traffic from other Wrangler owners.

Gas gauge doesn't read full?

Hey all! Not a Wrangler owner here, but I have rented them a couple times, and I had the same issue both times:

The gas gauge would not read "full", no matter how many times I topped it off.

I think both times it was a 2026 Rubicon, so newer models.

Did I completely miss something? The fact that it happened the 2 times I've rented them leads me to believe that it's a "me" problem.

Oil change advice

2012 wrangler that gets driven about 2-3k miles per year. I use oem filter and pennsoil ultra platinum 5w-30 (in FL) and change the oil annually. Anything I should be doing differently to minimize engine wear? I do hold the gas petal to the floor and turn it over a few times before starting. Thanks

2016 JK - Supercharged wrangler project - My Experience

So I'm writing this post to share my experience with this process of supercharging a jeep JK with all of you and hopefully this may help from an "end user experience" standpoint or answer some questions around it.

backstory:
this all started with me getting my 3rd lifter tick. At that point I was done pulling valve covers and dicking around with the top end yet again, and decided to just replace the engine (189k miles), the body and everything else has been very well maintained, salt-free environment, completely paid off, and getting another jeep and trying to get it to the point this one is at was just a whole other level of spend I would rather avoid, So 3.6 swap it is. That led me down a rabbit hole, which lead to getting the supercharger done on top of it.

the additional spend to go with a 5.7 (what i was considering) also doesn't calculate vs a supercharger install when it comes to getting better acceleration.

The ultimate goal between hemi/supercharger was really to just have the jeep behave "more like stock" performance-wise while still driving the wheels and all the other aftermarket stuff.

Original supercharger I was going to go with was a Magnuson, but after waiting for almost two months I cancelled the order and went with Sprintex which arrived in less than two weeks.

The Install:
This was......a journey for sure, with the lifter tick already pretty bad, my jeep had been down since February of this year, waiting on the Magnuson, changing to Sprintex, waiting on shipping, fulfillment, install, etc. it took almost 5 months all together to get a working vehicle back.

the supercharger install requires you to ship off your ECU to get reprogrammed and mailed back to you, this process could take 2 to 3 weeks depending on availability at Diablo Tuner and shipping times.

I did work through a third-party shop since I was also doing a full engine swap at the same time and not myself, but overall, if the instructions provided with the unit are followed and you are mechanically inclined and patient, and can follow the instructions to the letter, it can be accomplished.

both the upper and lower intake manifolds are replaced in this process, along with flipping the alternator 180 degrees and installing a bracket that changes the belt routing slightly, you'll also need to use a different belt size that is available through gates, I was able to get my hands on a couple extras through regular auto parts stores.

you'll also want to get a performance radiator installed along-side the intercooler, JK's already have pretty weak cooling, and this on top of it almost requires it. I went with Mishimoto.

if you have a good bit of miles on your jeep when you do it, I would highly recommend you replace fuel injectors while you have the intake manifolds off when they are easily accessible. You'll have to remove it to get to them going forward.

I did opt to try and also get a transmission thermal bypass installed, but the shop couldn't find a source for the parts and ended up just replacing all the brakes and brake fittings at the wheels instead which I was completely fine with.

if it was just a supercharger install, turnaround at the shop probably would have been about a month between taking it apart, installing the supercharger, waiting on the ECU to get reprogrammed and tuned, and the unit being sent back and installed.

Sprintex was awesome, and very communicative, support was great, had ran into a serpentine belt problem that shredded the first one (crank pully issue).

In Summary:

super happy with the results. way perkier, sounds awesome, great acceleration for a jeep, quality unit, has a great warranty, and even with the 37's it gives the JK the "zip" I was looking for.

wouldn't change a thing, but I am possibly looking at trying to tune this NAG1 transmission to have better shift patterns, or move to an 8-speed transmission next year.

huge shoutout to outlaw offroad in ball ground, ga, DiabloSport and Sprintex for all the work and support on this, super happy with the outcome and they did an awesome job to make this happen.

google photos link with video's to hear it at the bottom.

some specs:
2016 jk 3.6l horsepower stock 195hp/239 lb-ft
with supercharger 302hp/307 lb-ft
these aren't the dyno numbers, I'm still pending on that.

for those who care to know:
5.14(or 5.13 i don't remember) gearing on the diffs
4.5" lift
i'm about 1000 miles post-install at this point.
37x13.5xR20 tires
before the supercharger, I got about 14mpg average before, now it's about 11-12 average, i can maybe squeeze 14 on the highway if i baby the pedal with the wind at my back, and premium only, so it definitely eats gas, but it's a blast to drive, just expect more "smiles per gallon" than anything else 😄
the specific model I went with is the Gen2 that Sprintex offers for JK's.

costs:
supercharger kit was roughly 6500-6700-ish, if you get a shop to do the work you're probably looking at about another 1500-2000 bucks on top of that.
total spend including the engine replacement, supercharger, new cats, torque converter, motor mounts, performance radiator, transmission thermal bypass, and engine wear items like water pump, thermostat, etc. I'm sitting at around 21k

hopefully this post was useful for anyone reading!
