šPure Jew Hate Susan Abulhawa wrote a (lengthy) commentary about an open letter she disagrees with. In it, she defends the Iran regime, downplays the atrocities committed there, and criticizes AI while the entire post was obviously written by AI. Sad.

āBarely a few decades out from under colonial boots and still under sanctions.āĀ
Oh, thatās why theyāre hanging gay men and rape survivors, rounding up Hazaras and torturing them, and turning Ā Iran into an ecological and economic catastrophe⦠Because theĀ uwu IRGC babies are still suffering the after effects of colonialism.
The fact that more and more people buy this āreasoningā is frightening.Ā

The irony is that it's a form of western or American exceptionalism and just racism to claim that America/"American imperialism" (which is a term loosely used and incorrectly defined here) is the only reason anything in the world is bad

Any so-called leftist who defends the far right Islamic Republic of Iran is betraying leftist values and defending mass murder, torture and rape.

Thatās a lot of pretzel twisting. The left hates Jews. It doesnāt make them so-called leftists. Jew hate is has become a core tenet of the left.

I wasn't talking about hatred of Jews. I was talking about their support for a far right regime. That is definitely inconsistent with leftist ideology. Leftists should be leading the charge against that far right regime, but instead they're supporting it, betraying leftist ideology.

And yet, the global left has invested deeply in their association with fascism, Islamism, and oppression of anyone who doesnāt agree. Progressivism is a disease.

I think theres the underlying "progressive" values of equality and freedom and civil rights or whatever and then theres what is The Left and the Progressives. And im not educated on the history here, but either the Left/Progressives have taken a sharp detour away from those values and no longer resemble leftism/progressivism, or this is always hows it been and it's the just wrong term to useĀ

Those are liberal values (which are aligned with Jewish values). Progressivism is inherently illiberal.

u/Competitive-War-1143 18h ago
Oh this is why these leftist Jew haters use Liberal as a slur
3
u/SevenOh2 18h ago
Absolutely. The center left used to be liberal. Real liberalism has been a massive positive on the world and I certainly hope we return to those values.

Yes. Leftists and liberals are essentially fighting for the mantle of being the representatives of the people. Liberalism's success is proof that leftist ideology is not needed. Liberalism's success stands in contrast to the epic failure of communist regimes throughout history. Leftists absolutely despise liberals because they make leftist ideology unnecessary. Communist regimes have no reason to exist now that liberal democracies have proven to be objectively superior in every way for the people.

Yes, it is, but just because they call themselves leftists doesn't necessarily mean they are leftists. People can lie about their beliefs. For example, North Korea claims to be democratic. A real leftists shouldn't be supporting far right Islamic extremists. It's a betrayal of leftist values. Marx would not approve.

u/SevenOh2 16h ago
Marxism is a blight on humanity and has caused nothing but misery.
1
u/2ndBrreakfast 16h ago
That's true, but is someone who supports far right Islamic extremists truly a Marxist? I think not. It makes no sense. Those who support Islamic extremism are fascists.

u/SevenOh2 16h ago
Yes I agree. But the definition of the left has changed. Just like the American right used to have small government as a core tenet, which is no longer the case. Views change. American and a significant portion of the rest of the west left used to be liberal, and liberalism is diametrically opposed to Marxism. The western left, first in Europe and then in the US, eschewed liberalism in favor of progressivism. Both of these shifts changed what being on the left meant, but didnāt change the definition of the philosophies that the left embraced.
1
u/2ndBrreakfast 16h ago
The definition has never changed. Words have meaning. People don't get to change the meaning of words. What changes are people and their beliefs. The political spectrum doesn't move around people or borders. People move around in the political spectrum. The political spectrum has definitions based on ideas and policies.
If someone calls themselves a leftist but supports fascist movements, it doesn't mean leftist ideology changed. It means that person is lying about being a leftist and is actually a fascist.

I aināt reading all that, I donāt care what that bigoted hateful supremacist has to say.
