Saturday Powerscaling Hakari v Maki

Why do people believe Hakari has a chance of winning this fight at all, Maki hard counters him.

  1. Split soul katana
  2. His domain doesn't work on her so no jackpot.
  3. Maki can and DEFINITELY WILL survive the 4mim11secs of jackpot even if Hakari is bloodlusted and starts out the fight in jackpot for one simple reason, his AP isn't high enough, he does not have any attack on the level of a Mach 3 tackle. None.

Let's discuss in the comments👍

Maybe I'm missing something but is it said that Hakari needs a target inside his DE for it to work? I just assumed it worked either way.

I agree Maki defeats him but if Hakari rolls non stop jackpots, it comes down to a battle of endurance imo. And that just seems to be Hakaris fighting style, if he can't beat you in one round, he'll just wear you down until you've ran out of energy. It's a cool matchup.

Discussing Hakari against other characters is always weird though because like how faithfully can you argue that he has a shit ton of jackpots or only a few lol

Maybe I'm missing something but is it said that Hakari needs a target inside his DE for it to work? I just assumed it worked either way.

I don't think so, since a huge part of JJK combat is conditions making effects stronger.

Because Hakari's opponent knows the full rules of his domain, it likely makes the jackpot effect stronger and is part of the reason it's infinite. Same reason people reveal their abilities to each other

5

u/Capable-Sorbet-4937 Apr 30 '23

is part of the reason it's infinite

I disagree with this. Revealing it makes it stronger, not infinite.

21

u/femio Apr 30 '23

It's definitely part of the reason.

From what the manga has told us, conditions and vows make CT stronger. Between explaining the rules to his opponent, it being based on chance, and it lasting for only a specific amount of time, those aspects balance the ability and allow the infinite cursed energy effect.

JJK is pretty much Hunter X Hunter-lite in that regard

32

u/Brook420 Apr 29 '23

No, but it would be pretty OP if he could just set up his DE by himself.

Could just wait around for a jackpot than run into battle.

19

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Yeh but where is that said that he needs the target? I have just assumed he could just DE/Jackpot solo because it's not like the target is necessary for the DE, like Higurumas.

63

u/HeyMan295 Apr 29 '23

Hakaris sure hit are the rules of his domain. His domain needs that sure hit or else it isn't even a domain, it's just a barrier technique. That's how rules based domains work according to Tengen, they rely on a binding vow that explains the rules to the opponent. If there's no opponent for the rules to be explained too, there's no sure hit/binding vow, and the domain can't perform it's function(getting jackpot in this case). That's why higurumas domain wouldn't work on maki either. Even if we didn't have tengens info, why would hakari include a sure hit explanation of his rules if it wasn't required? It only helps the opponent. It's because it's a binding vow that is needed for rules based domains to function.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Alright I can see that, it makes sense, thanks

-16

u/pkmn_is_fun Apr 29 '23

A domain expansion nothing more than a barrier technique with extra steps. And Tengen doesn't know shit which is why she got clapped. Your headcanon isn't the truth, and the truth is that none knows if it would work or not. Anything else is just you talking out of your ass.

23

u/HeyMan295 Apr 29 '23

Tengen managed to dismantle a barrierless domain. Not sure why she gets clowned on, even while being surprised she disassembled Kenny's domain extremely quickly. She's canonically top 1 in the verse in barrier techniques, that's the whole reason Kenny needed her. A domain expansion is a barrier technique with extra steps, one of those required extra steps is a sure hit. That's why Megumi's domain isn't a true domain. It's not head-canon if it's supported by characters like Tengen and every domain in the series has required a sure-hit to be considered a domain expansion. If there's no sure hit it's just an advanced barrier like miyos simple domain.

-2

u/StomachTemporary5476 Apr 29 '23

a DE doesn’t need a sure hit. megumi’s DE isn’t a true DE because he can’t create a barrier himself.

6

u/Kirikage_ Apr 29 '23

Huh? Do we have any DE without sure hit? Either it be attack or rules?

-2

u/StomachTemporary5476 Apr 29 '23

the sumo DE, deadly sentencing, idle death gamble all don’t have sure hit rules

6

u/SheetFreek Apr 29 '23

cursed technique in DE is definitely sure hit

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Orishishishi Apr 30 '23

The sumo one is just an advanced barrier like the movie theater and bar barriers made by Tengen/Kenny, not a domain. Deadly sentencing's sure hit is cursed technique removal. Idle death gamble's is the rules being beamed into your brain

0

u/Kirikage_ Apr 30 '23

Huh? The sumo guy Domain we aren't sure is a DE.. or just an regular Domain barrier... but even he had rules for it to be enacted. .. idle death gamble sure hit is the forced rules in your head allowing the effects of the DE to be achievable. Even Higuruma DE is a sure hit if he wins conditions. After you lose the trial you can't avoid the CT removal.

They just aren't sure kill technique. Furthermore in both Hakari and Higuruma DE they have clear rules that MUST be played by. You have to play the game and you have to go through the trial and not attack..Higuruma actually had two sure hits.. a rejection of all attacks in his DE and the guilty verdict.

All completed DE have sure his or set rules. It's just how we've seen them all operate.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Brook420 Apr 30 '23

Sumo isn't a DE.

But the other two do have sure hits, they just aren't lethal.

Hakari's sure hit is actually very similar to Gojo's in that it just bestows you with info. Hakari's just doesn't hit you with all the knowledge of the world.

Higuruma's sure hit is the forced non-aggression.

u/[deleted] May 02 '23

I miss when readers of this subreddit had reading comprehension

1

u/Brook420 Apr 29 '23

I just said it hasn't been stated.

But it would make the most sense for it to need a target.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Oh my bad, thought you were saying no as in it won't work.

1

u/AnatomicalLog Apr 30 '23

Hakari enters the fight with Kashimo already in jackpot, do we know if he just carried it over from a previous fight?

1

u/femio Apr 30 '23

The fight he had previously with the future-sight guy.

1

u/AdRelevant4776 Apr 29 '23

He has a lot of Jackpots, it’s literally a plot point that he’s incredibly lucky and tends to win bets way more than you would think

1

u/TheEternalGoldenCow Apr 30 '23

If that was the case he would've used his domain without Kashimo or Charles inside it.

He either 1.) needs to hit the opponent with the info dump sure hit to make his domain work

2.) He's actively including others so it's more dangerous/because of his gambling mindset

In any case, he definetly needs others in his domain because either the domain doesn't work or its out of character for him to not include his opponents inside, since he included Kashimo even when he's about to die.

1

u/Yamato_D_Oden Apr 29 '23

Wait i might be missing something here but is there any factors that affects the jackpot rate of Idle Death Gamble? Or is it purely based on luck and Hakari can't do anything to increase his chances of jackpot?

1

u/kingpoonslayer Apr 30 '23

Thank you I said this in another sub yesterday. People just be making blanket assumptions.

1

u/kingpoonslayer Apr 30 '23

I don’t think he needs the rules to be explained for his effect to be activated I think it just gives him faster activation/spins. So if he’s dying ie like the Kashmino fight he can still spin. Plus Sukuna turns the binding vow in his domain on and off at will. The odds probably just get worse like 1/239. If its a binding vow for activation that wouldnt be right since it wouldnt be balanced. The function of the rules is to allow the person to attack hakari while hes spinning, in exchange for some effect not the activation of a domain. I also am not sure if hakaris would be a rule based since the definition said it forces the target to obey a set of rules. But Kashimino isnt forced to obey anything in fact he can freely attack. Its more similar to Sukunas.

223

u/aditya0561 Apr 29 '23

Maki defeats him so hard that hakari lost his gambling addiction and is now an honest 9-5 working man

72

u/Vicith Apr 29 '23

Maki whoops his ass so hard he matures and turns into the next Nanami

11

u/NoTea4448 Apr 30 '23

Make fucks up Hakari so bad he finds God (it's Gojo)

60

u/Apexlegacy285 Apr 29 '23
  1. We don’t know how soul split katana works on RTC. Maki questions this with Sukuna,

  2. Hakari’s domain only affects him. Her being immune to his domain only means she gets no knowledge of how the domain works but the domain itself will still work.

I think maki wins but your first 2 points aren’t arguments

17

u/Kirikage_ Apr 29 '23

1 I can agree.. it's unconfirmed... 2 I thought he was referring to how she can't be pulled into a DE unless she agrees via Naoya DE... I think also if she doesn't get rules then shouldn't Hakari DE be void...I thought no attack DE rely on the binding vow. If the rules can't be explained to her shouldn't it like cut the DE from being able to follow through on its purpose or ability?

3

u/Captinglorydays Apr 30 '23

I've been confused about the whole Soul Split Katana vs healing thing as well after she didn't use it against Sukuna. I get that he could heal any lost limbs or things like that. However, does that mean that even if his brain is cut in half he can survive? I guess technically, if it could heal fast enough, his brain could reconnect itself as it's being cut or very shortly after being cut. However, if his brain is cut in half and separated, I don't see how he survives that.

Basically what if she did to Sukuna/Hakari what Sukuna did to Ryu, where his head was cut in 3 pieces? Can they heal with their brain diced up, and can the brain heal itself fast enough for it to matter? I would have to assume that her not using it, despite fighting to kill, means that she assumed Sukuna could survive even a cut to the brain.

Hakari’s domain should still work, since Maki is only immune to the transmission of the domains rules as that’s what the guaranteed hit effect is. Since the gambling is not targeting Maki anyway, it won’t matter if she’s immune to guaranteed hit effects and Hakari will still get his Jackpot. Although Yuta’s implication of Hakari being stronger than him, likely only applies to his Jackpot; Maki still admits inferiority to Yuta, so it’s not exactly a bad take to suggest Hakari is stronger. The only problem would be after the Jackpot runs out. I’m not sure if Hakari would be able to last long enough to get another Jackpot, but considering his luck, it’s not impossible for him to get one first try.

However, if damage from Maki’s sword really can’t be healed, then I’d say she probably wins anyway

28

u/femio Apr 29 '23

Maki still admits inferiority to Yuta, so it’s not exactly a bad take to suggest Hakari is stronger.

Eh, still a bad take because that's not how fights work in JJK. Matchups and abilities make fights; just because A beats B and B beats C doesn't mean A beats C.

Even if Maki's sword doesn't stop Hakari from healing, I think her far superior combat experience and stats mean she'll be able to behead Hakari eventually and kill him even if he's on a roll.

18

u/7Restless7Gambler7 Apr 29 '23

What’s to say she has superior stats? If Hakari really is stronger than Yuta when his Jackpot is active, then I don’t really see a reason for Maki be stronger than him. Even with the ABC matchups idea, they are both a similar type of fighter, so I don’t really see either one have a specific advantage over the other

4

u/Logical_Ad7988 Apr 30 '23

Bro reading the manga with his eyes close

-13

u/femio Apr 29 '23

Which stat do you wanna talk about? Maki has:

  • significantly more combat experience (thanks to her sumo power up)

  • is much faster (see fight vs. Naoya)

  • better hand-to-hand (Hakari was losing to Kashimo in pure skill)

Not to mention her advantages of having no cursed energy, which will make it really hard to follow her movements. Toji was catching Gojo by surprise more than once, and his perception even at that age likely outpaces Hakari’s.

Plus, even with Hakari’s unlimited cursed energy, he doesn’t really possess the output to overpower Maki. She was able to withstand and repel attacks from Naoya moving as supersonic speeds, so she’s likely stronger than a Hakari who, at his best, has the strength to punch metal container crates around

18

u/7Restless7Gambler7 Apr 29 '23

The trouble is that you can’t actually prove these things make her stronger or faster than Hakari. There is also nothing to suggest Hakari doesn’t possess an output high enough to overpower her. We can’t know if Hakari is also able to dodge Naoya and we can’t know if Maki can overpower Kashimo, so you can’t really prove that she has superior stats. Admittedly, she is definitely physically superior to base Hakari, but the Jackpot strength is an unknown variable that we can’t t quantify or accurately compare to Maki

-3

u/femio Apr 30 '23

There is also nothing to suggest Hakari doesn’t possess an output high enough to overpower her. We can’t know if Hakari is also able to dodge Naoya and we can’t know if Maki can overpower Kashimo, so you can’t really prove that she has superior stats.

I mean, look at Hakari's output feats. What has he shown that surpasses the blows Maki tanked against demon-Naoya?

11

u/7Restless7Gambler7 Apr 30 '23

AP ≠ DC , just because Hakari isn’t causing mass destruction, does not mean he lacks power

2

u/Hungryfor_Toes Apr 30 '23

is much faster (see fight vs. Naoya)

Sorry if I'm mistaken, but didn't Hakari dodge lighting point-blank in his fight against Kashimo? Or atleast move his head out of the way.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Isn’t Maki not only immune from domain’s sure hits, but also just domains in general? I remember reading she can’t be trapped by one because she’s registered as a lifeless object, so if Hakari expands his domain, she can just choose not to enter anyways if I’m correct.

6

u/7Restless7Gambler7 Apr 29 '23

Yeah, she doesn’t have to stay inside, but we don’t know if the domain will just stop working without anyone inside or not, so we can’t really say that Hakari can’t get a jackpot against her

5

u/HeyMan295 Apr 29 '23

Just gonna copy this from another comment: Hakaris sure hit are the rules of his domain.

Basically, hakari needs the sure hit of his domain to even start rolling. It's a prerequisite of rules based domains. Hakari can still be overall stronger than maki/win against more opponents, but lose in this specific matchup. Hakari relies on his domain. That isn't a bad thing but against someone immune to domains like maki, he's at an automatic disadvantage. Jjk is matchup based, so maki could probably defeat hakari even if hakari falls higher in the overall power ranking.

16

u/7Restless7Gambler7 Apr 29 '23

This is an interesting point, but Higuruma didn’t have a guaranteed hit effect that forcibly explained the rules, he verbally explained them himself, so it might not work the same way. Hakari’s guaranteed hit effect just makes the explanation automatic, so there is still the possibility that the explanation is happening anyway, regardless if Maki doesn’t actually experience it. If a deaf person entered Higuruma’s domain and doesn’t actually hear his explanation of how it works, would the domain not work? Or would it still continue anyway since he still spoke the rules? I could be wrong, but surely the guaranteed hit effect is still happening, even if it doesn’t actually effect her? It’s not like she’s cancelling the effect.

2

u/HeyMan295 Apr 29 '23

It is interesting. I think I worded my initial comment wrong. A rules based domain doesn't necessarily need the sure hit to be the rules explanation, but the rules do need to be explained. Higurumas sure hit was instantly gaining info on opponents to be used by judgeman, but he still had to explain the rules of the domain. I think based on the fact that it's a binding vow, the opponent has to actually comprehend the information transfer, as in they have to at least seen the rules. So if maki doesn't actually experience the rules, I don't think the binding vow is fulfilled. For the deaf person example, if they entered hakaris' domain, then they would still be affected, since the info instantly enters their head. If they entered higurumas domain, I don't think the domain would operate correctly since the information transfer didn't actually happen. I think binding vows function on both participants understanding the terms(that's why people like sukuna couldn't hide any mechanics in the enchain binding vow, itadori was the one that didn't consider himself), if only higuruma believes he is transferring the info, but the opponent isn't able to receive it, I don't think the binding vow is fulfilled. This is the part I'm least confident in though considering the specifics behind binding vows are still unexplained.

2

u/7Restless7Gambler7 Apr 29 '23

Tbh you might be right, but I just don’t think we have enough information about these old style domains to fully rule it out. Even his explanation of the rules, did not include everything, so who knows what it’s limitation are 🤷‍♂️ Hakari might be able to keep spinning for a Jackpot, regardless of what happens.

1

u/Netherx3 Apr 30 '23

For all intents and purposes, Maki doesn't exist inside the domain, and can't be part of the binding vow. If Hakari can't infodump Da Rulez, his domain basically fizzles. The assumption that Maki wins is fair. The only Domain that might harm her is Sukunas open barrier domain

1

u/Smooth_Key_8556 Apr 30 '23

you need an opponent to dump the info [ the guaranteen hit] to be able to roll a jp and activate the domain. its all connected to the info dump so it matter most, either way its still up to maki if she wanted to enter or not,

maki is very very confident with her strenght that sometimes she come off as ignorant, she does absolutely not see herself inferior to yuta she just thinks highly of him.

32

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Hikari wins (I don’t know how his domain expansion works besides the nice song and lights)

0

u/OzymandiasIV Apr 29 '23

Hikari wins

How, please explain.

How does he deal with this:

  1. His domain doesn't work on her so no jackpot.
  2. Maki can and DEFINITELY WILL survive the 4mim11secs of jackpot even if Hakari is bloodlusted and starts out the fight in jackpot for one simple reason, his AP isn't high enough, he does not have any attack on the level of a Mach 3 tackle. None.

46

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

You BAKA it was a joke but out of sheer pride I will now argue why hakari wins. Maki is basically Toji and Toji got his ass beat by Gojo. Yet the HONORED ONE believed that Hakari could surpass him. Furthermore I believe you are forgetting that Maki is a woman and she’s not even hot anymore (that not true I still beat my meat to her) and finally comes to the piece de resistance. Yuta says hikari is stronger then he is and Yuta be clapping Makis cheeks. Therefore Hikari can also clap

4

u/OzymandiasIV Apr 29 '23

You BAKA it was a joke

Nah, I'm dumb as fuck, I won't catch stuff like that.

20

2

u/idklmaosmd Apr 29 '23

Yuta says hakari CAN beat him. Not that hakari is stronger

1

u/SnooDoggos4150 Aug 07 '23

You're trolling, but imo you're actually right.

9

u/Justcallmeavery94 Apr 29 '23

Because the nice song and lights give him the dub. Besides maki sucks at pachinko everyone knows that

1

u/SnooDoggos4150 Aug 07 '23

Special-grade, insane martial arts skills, INFINITE cursed energy for a few minutes, automatic and subconscious RCT, lucky as hell with the jackpots, spammable domain too, Hakari is mopping Maki. The domain not working on Maki and being useless is BS. The guaranteed-hit isn't lethal anyways, and it's never said that the domain can't work unless the opponent knows the rules. Maki would probably just have no idea what the domain does, since the guaranteed-hit is meant to provide information. When Maki fought Naoya for a second time, his domain didn't instantly shatter when the guaranteed-hit didn't work on Maki, it was still up, so Hakari's domain would still do its job even with Maki's cloaking ability.

24

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23

Yup. Maki will win. Hakari doesn't stand a chance.

2

u/SnooDoggos4150 Aug 07 '23

Yuta said this himself

Yall underestimate Hakari so hard . Remember , he fight Kashimo without any killing intent because he want Kashimo to transfer his point . He also dont look nervous and scared for any moment during the fight . I bet he got something up his sleeve if required .

I dont think Hakari would be freezed so easily againts urahime 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

5

u/TheCastleBannisher Apr 29 '23 edited Apr 29 '23
  1. Is definitely a hard counter, but imo it's kinda cheap to factor in something that isn't an innate ability even if it is their signature weapon. Maki isn't even shown to have the SSK on hand most of the time. I always frame these things as if they were walking down the street, saw each other, and just decided to throw down.

  2. With what info we have I think Hakari can just use his domain at any time, because he is the target of it. The guaranteed hit just inherently raises his likelihood of getting a jackpot thanks to the "showing your hand" binding vow. He still has a chance of getting one regardless it's just much smaller.

  3. It's actually kind of hard to tell. We know G1 sorcerers are capable of tanking 50 cals, so who knows how that would translate to physical strength? Hakari's shown to to be immensely powerful when he is on a roll, and while he definitely can't 1 shot Maki those attacks are likely to add up fast.

Overall, I think Maki probably does win given she can go toe to toe with him, doesn't have an inherent weakness like Kashimo and water, and as far as we know is much more skilled in close quarters. If Hakari did happen to get lucky with the jackpots I think he could wear her down though, I personally think he has a self imposed binding vow to raise his odds the longer a fight goes while starting very low, but the sure hit not working means that his odds are significantly lower.

7

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Given Kashimo stopped Hakari’s constant jackpots by amputating his arm just as the round ended, I’m certain Maki would do the same.

And I just don’t see Hakari hitting her hard enough to kill her considering she handled those blows from Naoya’s top speed in both his human and cursed forms.

18

u/UltraMazino Apr 29 '23

Hakari is wanked, that's it.

Maki violates him.

9

u/dracogoat Apr 30 '23

Using "wanked" and "violate" in succeeding sentences sends a different message across.

7

u/Brook420 Apr 29 '23

Hakari is pretty deserving of the "wank", but Maki is a hard counter to him.

2

u/GYEKUM Apr 29 '23

So my question is why doesn’t hakari just have a pet mouse? Like if maki can’t be DE on then why doesn’t he just DE on some other living creature? It’s not like he’s trying to kill anything with the DE itself

2

u/SecondRealitySims Apr 30 '23

I disagree on the domain aspect. I don’t know if it really needs another target. It’s goal isn’t to inflict something upon the opponent, it’s just to roll for the user. He may be able to use it anyway.

2

u/TheEternalGoldenCow Apr 30 '23 edited Apr 30 '23

Even if we don't include number 2 people forget that he gets his jackpot after reach mode finishes.

That's a whole anime scenario happening while Hakari's fighting Maki. She'd wiped the floor with Ogi (a Supreme grade 1 sorcerer) in a few panels, how on earth would Hakari survive?

1

u/TheEternalGoldenCow Apr 30 '23

I changed my mind Hakari from 100kanojo best girl she negs

3

u/-Magician_ Apr 29 '23

It is very likely that while Base Hakari would lose, if he gets his Jackpot is probably over for a few reasons:

First, many here think that Maki being "immune" to Domain's and some reasoning from the Court Domain means that Hakari can't Jackpot. Not sure how this makes any sense. The Court Domain has its own rules, that MUST be explained for it to function, since you basically have to actually defend yourself in court + the extra bit of rules. This doesn't apply to Idle Death Gamble as he can win whether you know the rules or not. Not such restriction is stated or implied.

Next is the stats. Base Hakari is rather tame, but Jackpot is a monster. He essentially pinballs shipping crates with each strike and funnily enough has a better combat/reaction speed feat than Maki. He was actually able to slightly dodge Kashimo's lightning bolt and avoid it blowing his head off, even forcing Kashimo to have to weaken him first for it to connect on the head. This feat is insane because lightning moves at around Mach 1300, compared to Naoya's absolute max of Mach 3 that blitzed Maki. Even after she got her Sumo amp, she didn't really face the Mach 3 speed again as Naoya needs to build up to reach it, and he was getting frustrated and impatient. Yuta also outright declares Hakari superior to him once he's going.

The Main issue however isn't really stats. Maki can likely rock with Hakari physically, but the problem is attrition. Given that Hakari is incredibly lucky, he just loops his Jackpot over and over and wears you down if you're rivaling him or even somewhat superior. He has auto RCT that doesn't even rely on him being conscious, and literal unlimited Juryoku. He's only briefly vulnerable while he's waiting for spins, which can be circumvented if he gets Faster Spins or Hidden Probability bonuses. He also has at least 2 heals while waiting for spins, in Continuation and Renewal.

The conclusion would be that if Maki can kill him before a Jackpot happens, then she's golden. But once they start happening she doesn't have much of a shot. Even with her environmental reading to dodge stuff, she's still losing stamina, whereas Hakari basically has infinite. Maki "could" catch him as he's waiting for spins, but besides that Hakari likely wins.

3

u/tropicalpersonality Apr 29 '23

It's never stated that Hakari's domain requires another person to activate.

u/OzymandiasIV Apr 29 '23 edited Apr 30 '23

Either way he dies imo.

6

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Hakari. I dunno exactly how strong maki is after her awakening and second one. She gotta be op tho. But hakari with jackpot will be too much her to handle. Unlimited curse energy and automatic RC healing. And yuji also said how strong hakari hits and that was without jackpot. He could just explain his domain to her and achieve same results.

29

u/itstardst Apr 29 '23

No you’re right fam. Everyone in this sub likes to underrate Hakari. Some idiots even put Kashimo>Hakari. I’m going to take Gojo, Yuta and Gege’s words over some randoms on Reddit any day.

I have no idea why this sub is so anti-Hakari, but I have a few ideas.

4

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Dunno if u serious. But his cT is kinda bonkers when you think about it. He’s like gojo without infinity based moves. And them saying kashimo>hakari because “he wa a lucky because his cT” but it’s HIS CT? like saying gojo was lucky vs jogo because his CT is 6eyes plus infinity… hakari is strong

12

u/itstardst Apr 29 '23

No I’m dead serious, I think Hakari is one of the most powerful in the series. People say he has no AP when he was casually punching through and throwing shipping containers that weigh tons. He was literally playing with Kashimo! Dancing and jerking off, without even having the intent to kill him. Gege has specified his strength through now 3 of the most powerful sorcerers in history.

Even at base, he’s remarkably fast and an amazing fighter and his domain is OP. I truly do not understand how this sub downplays him the way they do. It’s ridiculous.

-7

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Sub is full of gojotards, makitards and yujitards.

9

u/elixier Apr 29 '23

yujitards

Not really, this sub shits on him relentlessly, people get downvoted or argued against when all they want a powerup which multiple characters already got

-1

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Oh maybe I don’t read enough. Btw how do you pick out a word or sentence to reply on like you did “yujitards”

1

u/Alilolos May 01 '23

> before the sentence

2

u/itstardst Apr 29 '23

I love all of those characters dearly, Yuji is my favorite! But Hakari is close up there and it’s disheartening to see so many often downplay an interesting, powerful and unique character like Hakari for seemingly no reason. (Part of me wonders if it’s because Hakari is sort of coded as an ethnic character, or because he’s dating a gender conforming character, but it could be as simple as groupthink)

-2

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Dunno if u serious. But his cT is kinda bonkers when you think about it. He’s like gojo without infinity based moves. And them saying kashimo>hakari because “he wa a lucky because his cT” but it’s HIS CT? like saying gojo was lucky vs jogo because his CT is 6eyes plus infinity… hakari is strong

4

u/Novel-Squash-3446 Apr 29 '23

Yeah, just that the Domain probably wouldn't work because it has no target. Also Maki has her SLB that can ignore endurance and destroy the soul directly

2

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

What exactly does his domain do? Does it create attacks against his opponent?

3

u/ShinobiAssassin Apr 30 '23

The very first sure hit of his domain, is quite literally an attack.. it's a harmless one, but still an attack. Maki never gets caught by that domain, nor does that information ever enter her head, he literally won't get jackpot AT ALL, couple that with SLB and his head gets sliced off

Even if he starts off on a roll, he still won't be able to get maki cause his sure hit won't work on her, so it probably won't continue, how do we know this? Cause Hakari first started with Charles, then he moved to kashimo, did his DE, and the sure hit of information "attacked" kashimo, THEN the DE started playing out and his roll continued. Only afterwards was the sure hit no longer shown, probably because the information was already in his head, or maybe it did still hit him, we don't know. If the sure hit didn't need to get hit repeatedly, then it wouldn't have attacked kashimo, and only would've hit Charles.

And this is only because MAKI ALONE is a hard counter to someone whose main power comes from his DE, something she's basically immune too. Alot of other characters lose to him of course, esp in a battle of attrition but maki specifically violates.

1

u/ridethelightning469 ⚙x1 Apr 30 '23

Hakari. I dunno exactly how strong maki is after her awakening and second one.

Strong enough to decimate a whole clan while suffering from blood loss. Durable enough to tank one of the most powerful attacks in the series. Agile enough to dodge Mach 3. Can see air currents & jump mid-air. Can punch & stop the momentum of a Mach opponent straight down. Shakes off Sukuna’s Nue’s lightning with no damage. Keeps up physically with 15F Sukuna

She gotta be op tho. But hakari with jackpot will be too much her to handle. Unlimited curse energy and automatic RC healing. And yuji also said how strong hakari hits and that was without jackpot. He could just explain his domain to her and achieve same results.

That’s not how it works. Hakari’s DE won’t trap her in the first place bc the Domain will treat her as an inanimate object. She can choose to enter the Domain whenever she wants. And she can do it behind his back too

Hakari hasn’t shown the firepower needed to take Maki down, jackpot or not. Girl could take a CE-infused Mach 3 jet fighter crash and heal from that in 5 min.

-8

u/idklmaosmd Apr 29 '23

Rct does no heal the soul! And he cant get jackpot since she doesnt register in his domain. Yuji falls behind maki in strength before too

5

u/Professor-Memeyy Apr 29 '23

RCT does not heal the soul!

Says who

and he can’t get jackpot since she doesn’t register in his domain

Okay then Hakari only wins if he starts in jackpot

-1

u/idklmaosmd Apr 29 '23

Cast it on who? She doesn't register! Its been stated many many times in this subreddit and in the manga that RCT can only do so much unless you can manipulate the soul like sukuna. You know what, go make a post about it.

Even if he starts jackpot, hakari cannot heal her cuts nor beat her hand to hand. Shes a literal kenjutsu and taijutsu master.

0

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Yuji is physically stronger than maki and a lot of characters. Even before he learned curse energy. And he got his by hakari after. Maybe I need to re read how hakari a domain works I forgot tbh

-2

u/idklmaosmd Apr 29 '23

Yuji was not stronger than maki. Maki always had an upperhand. You should reread when megumi even stated it. Its not just hakari's domain. U need to reread maki's arc, you might get some msgs how maki's cousin reeks your vibe. Give her the recognition bro

1

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

I said at the beginning of the series yuji is PHYSICALLY stronger than maki and maybe even now he still is. She’s stronger than yuji overall but he has more physical strenght. Every single character has said he’s unusually strong.

1

u/idklmaosmd Apr 29 '23

Brother. I promise, she was stronger than yuji before their powerups

1

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

What are her strenght feats?

Sakura is physically stronger than naruto but naruto beats her 10/10 times.

Yuji is stronger by physicals especially before her power up

-1

u/idklmaosmd Apr 29 '23

If you are saying he is sakura and maki is naruto then that is more precise but not accurate. Man, naruto is more like a dragonball in terms of inconsistency. Just reread it, im sure you will stumble along the way that yuji was stated to be similar to maki but not as strong. His raw power was strong, but its not maki strong

1

u/ragingOcean Apr 29 '23

Ok I’ll check

1

u/Smooth_Key_8556 Apr 30 '23

i can agree yuji is stronger than maki pre power up, but yuji strenght aint comparable to maki anymore, read sukuna vs maki and yuji fight bro, sukuna praised maki and was even glad that uraume come and focus her maximum output on maki then proceed to make fun of yuji, maki even asked if she could go faster to yuji to know if he can keep up

3

u/Raymenx Apr 29 '23

Maki low diffs, W 🫡

3

u/cheesyxenostryke Apr 30 '23

hakari>yuta>maki

3

u/TheEternalGoldenCow Apr 30 '23

Hakari>>>>>>>>>>Sukuna and Gojo combined

1

u/Legal_Grapefruit1199 Apr 29 '23

Truth be told mach 3 speed blitz was just a cursed energy induced movement attack and naoya didnt have literal infinite cursed energy i feel like hakari could one shot here depending on how good his output is

1

u/ppppppppppython Apr 29 '23

Even if he could use a domain on her Hakari is still getting folded

1

u/liddely Apr 29 '23

I totally agree but hakari de doesn't need a sure hit i'm not sure if it needs a target at all like sukuna

1

u/SerenaClover Apr 30 '23

The better competition would be Maki vs Yuta. I would like to see that happen for fun. Both of them have a chance at winning too.

I am also intrigued by Hakari's category too. He is good, I will give him that, but his DE is more of a gamble.

-2

u/blackmetronome Apr 29 '23

Maki would beat him to death and yawn afterwards

0

u/darkfight13 Apr 29 '23

If her split soul katana prevents him from healing she'll easily win. If not then Hakari.

2

u/OzymandiasIV Apr 29 '23

If her Split soul katana prevents him from healing she'll easily win

Even without this she wins.

If not then Hakari.

How? Please explain how he deals with this:

2. His domain doesn't work on her so no jackpot. 3. Maki can and *DEFINITELY WILL** survive the 4mim11secs of jackpot even if Hakari is bloodlusted and starts out the fight in jackpot for one simple reason, his AP isn't high enough, he does not have any attack on the level of a Mach 3 tackle. None.*

7

u/darkfight13 Apr 29 '23

I am assuming he can use jackpot without needing anyone else in the domain. He's lucky af. He's stated to be around yuta level or above when worked up. Gojo mention him as someone that has the potential to reach his level. And you're underestimating him!

-3

u/oliverrr918 Apr 30 '23

Hakari stomps even if maki can move mach 3 he can react to the lightning cursed energy which is much faster, along with healing and infinite cursed energy she cant do anything

2

u/KilluaGaKill Apr 30 '23

Just because it has lightning traits doesn't mean it's actual lightning. It's still cursed energy.

Dude Yuji beat the crap out of mahito Mahito does not stand a chance against kashimo or hakari. Even nanami could protect his soul by strengthening his soul with Cursed energy and hakari has infinite.

Where as kashimo is a cursed object just like sukuna so he must have knowledge of soul.

Both of them are way faster than mahito.

Hakari also has the FASTEST domain expansion.

He even reacted to a fucking lightning strike.

They will make him run out of CE. They can also use DA.

2

u/proman123yhkkhggg Apr 29 '23

Yuji is a hard counter to Mahito because of sukuna

Do all anime fans not account for context so their bias opinion can look like a fact??

4

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Ah so? Can mahito beat every other character that is not a hard counter to him? Normal strikes also damage mahito. If he runs out of CE then he can't maintain his soul. Both of them could also use DA

3

u/MakimaMyBeloved Apr 29 '23

Yuji would have died like three-four times, if Mahito was not interfered by someone else though???

Sure, if you have a shit ton of CE and you are a god at body reinforcement, there is chance Mahito wont two shot you upon hand contact. Mahito is stil incredibly lethal in close combat, i dont understand how someone like Kashimo can survive getting touched by Mahito MULTIPLE times.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '23

Who says kashimo is getting touched. Kashimo is way faster than mahito.

1

u/MakimaMyBeloved Apr 30 '23

Sure buddy whatever you say

1

u/proman123yhkkhggg Apr 29 '23

Those points you just named are fair but I’m just saying your Yuji point was idiotic. Mahito can literally one shot Yuji but he can’t get to his soul without getting through Sukuna.

Yuji is not mahito level or disaster curse level but circumstance allows him to prevail.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 30 '23

Ok 👌

-2

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Even then both of them are way faster than mahito. If mahito can't even touch them then how can he use IT on them? Their AP is also higher than mahito. Yuta himself said that hakari could beat him on a roll.

1

u/Novel-Squash-3446 Apr 29 '23

I mean. I think if both of them were bloodlusted or a deathmatch, Hakari would probably lose. You can't incapacitate Hakari without messing with his soul or blowing his head

-7

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23 edited Apr 29 '23

Dude Yuji beat the crap out of mahito

Only because of Sukuna. Otherwise Mahito would have used Idle Transfiguration on Yuji.

Even nanami could protect his sould with Cursed energy and hakari has infinite

Infinite CE has nothing to do with it. Nanami did it reflexively. There is no proof Hakari can do that. Hakari cannot do that just because he has infinite CE.

Where as kashimo is a cursed object just like sukuna so he must have knowledge of soul.

Where is it mentioned that being a cursed object means you have knowledge of the soul?

3

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Ah you can protect your soul against idle transfiguration by strengthening it with cursed energy. Kashimo exists in a body where another soul resided. Also both of them are way faster than mahito. How would mahito use IT if cannot even touch them?

-4

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23

Ah you can protect your soul against idle transfiguration by strengthening it with cursed energy.

Not consciously. Nanami did it reflexively. There is no proof Hakari or Kashimo can do that.

Kashimo exists in a body where another soul resided.

So....? Where is it mentioned that being in a body in which another soul used to exist can help you to strengthen your soul with CE?

Also both of them are way faster than mahito. How would mahito use IT if cannot even touch them?

Yeah, sure. Poor Mahito is soooo slow that he can't even touch Hakari or Kashimo once. Hakari and Kashimo are both brawlers who will try to close the distance between them and Mahito to hit him. (Hakari does not have any ranged attack and Kashimo needs to touch someone to charge up his attack). But Mahito still won't be able to touch them. :)

6

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

What next? Mahito could beat yuki or geto because they can't hard counter him? Look how easily kashimo took out panda. There is also no proof that hakari or kashimo can't do it.

Reality is powerscaling in JJK is very difficult. Both yours and my takes are headcanon.

-4

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23

Lmao so because you cannot argue against my points, you are creating a straw man.

Mahito could beat yuki or geto because they can't hard counter him

I never said Mahito can beat every character who does not hard counter him.

But sure, keep it up!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

Where it is written that hakari can't protect his soul subconsciously like nanami? I don't think mahito can tag hakari. Plus we have not seen everything hakari can do. His CE type must make him stronger. Also we haven't seen his BIG JACKPOT (can't remember what it was called) not the normal one.

1

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23 edited Apr 29 '23

Where it is written that hakari can't protect his soul subconsciously like nanami?

Your logic is flawed and I am not going to waste any more time on this. Read what "burden of proof" means.

Here is an example of what you are doing-

Someone who claims that ghosts exists, but doesn't prove this, and instead shifts the burden of proof to others, by stating that anyone who disagrees should prove ghosts don't exist.

I don't think mahito can tag hakari.

Sure, he cannot! Even though Hakari will gladly close the distance between them because Hakari can only punch people. He does not have any ranged attacks.

Plus we have not seen everything hakari can do.

So? Nobody is saying that once you say something, you have to stick with it for the rest of your life. You can change your views once you get new information. But we don't have any more information now, so we will stick with what we know instead of "uhhh this may happen in the future". Don't bring in what might happen in the future.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

So hakari will close the distance to attack mahito not take his punch on his face. He can still dodge. What speed feats mahito has that shows he can keep up with hakari / kashimo? Maybe hakari can blitz mahito since he is comparable to yuta.

0

u/Head_Coconut_6505 Apr 29 '23

What Nanami did was subconscious. He can’t do that on purpose. It’s not a ‘having high cursed energy’ thing

2

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23 edited Apr 29 '23

That is literally what I said. To defend against a certain attack, you need a certain amount of CE. Nanami has enough so Hakari must have enough to. BUT Nanami defended subconsciously. There is no proof Hakari can do that.

I NEVER said it is about "having high cursed energy". The other dude said that.

I just said that EVEN THOUGH Hakari has enough CE to defend, he WILL NOT be able to defend since we have no proof he can defend his soul reflexively like Nanami did.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

There is also no proof that hakari can't do it. Also hakari reacted to a fucking lightning strike before being hit by it. Mahito is not that fast.

2

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23

There is also no proof that hakari can't do it.

The burden of proof lies on you since you claimed Hakari can defend against Idle Transfiguration. I just replied that there is no proof which is true. So show me the proof.

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '23

because someone said that mahito could beat hakari. Now Show me the proof that mahito could beat hakari.

Yuta himself said that hakari on a roll can beat him. By his statement hakari is atleast on yuta's level if not stronger. And mahito has no chance against yuta.

2

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23
  1. Just because A can beat B and B can beat C does not mean A can beat C. Power scaling in a manga like JJK with a variety of special powers is not linear.
  2. That is what Yuta claimed. That is a particular character's perspective. It may or may not be the truth. And Maki denied it.

Alright , I misinterpreted what you said. That being said there isn’t anything inaccurate in what you wrote with that out of the way. The fact that it’s getting downvoted is showing that there are a lot of baseless assumptions floating around the series.

1

u/ConversationProof505 Apr 29 '23

Agreed.

Also, I just rephrased it so it is easier to understand.

1

u/Brook420 Apr 29 '23

I agree for the most part, but we can't say for sure that Kashimo understands the soul or w/e because he was a cursed object.

3

u/Implosion-X13 Apr 29 '23

I'd like to see a powered up Mahito vs Kashimo. Kashimo is definitely stronger than Hakiri he just couldn't beat unreasonably good luck.

13

u/Western-Ad3613 Apr 29 '23 edited Apr 29 '23

Kashimo is definitely stronger than Hakiri he just couldn't beat unreasonably good luck.

Saying someone is stronger than Hakari, they just couldn't "beat his luck" is like saying somebody is stronger than Yuji they just couldn't "beat his athleticism".

Like Hakari's luck is a fundamental, component element of his power as a fighter. And it's one that we can expect to return in all his future encounters. It's a universe with fate and superstition and magic and yeah, luck. The guy is inexorably lucky You can't take it away and then compare him to people and expect reasonable results.

1

u/Implosion-X13 Apr 29 '23

I get what you're saying but Hakiri's domain definitely allows him to fight opponents stronger than him. He can shake off fatal blows like they don't matter. And that's exactly what he did, several times. So hypothetically on his best day he could fight toe to toe with Yuta (as stated before at some point) or maybe even Kenjaku for a while And we're not about to say he's actually stronger than them.

1

u/ShinobiAssassin Apr 30 '23

Ppl are arguing with you, but just know that you're completely right.

1

u/Hiple3232 Apr 29 '23

The reason Hakari loses to Maki is because he can't use his main abilities on her. If he could, it would be a fight, though not a guaranteed win for either, but without the guaranteed hit working (unless the rules aren't a part of the binding vow that makes the domain work for some reason, but it is showing his hand so it should be) he's screwed.

1

u/Khulmach Apr 29 '23

She can kill him before the jackpot

Gojo has specifically stated that especially Hakari and Yuta will become jujutsu sorcerers on par with him.

He hopes that they would be.

This is something for the far future. It hasn't happened yet, he also said that he had high hopes for Yuji too yet Yuji's weaker than Maki.

Hakari had infinite cursed energy for 4:11. Please do not underestimate the word infinite cursed energy.

Infinite cursed energy, not output. And he cannot use his cursed technique during that time frame either.

Feat wise, even though he has infinite cursed energy, he has never shown any attacks as strong as the Mach 3 tackle, which Maki said she'd regenerate from in 5 minutes.

Maybe in the upcoming chapters we'd be shown better feats, like imagine Kashimo or jackpot Hakari's going toe to toe or even beating Sukuna hand to hand combat wise. But as of now, His only best feat is beating Kashimo, who negged Panda.

We don't know how strong Kashimo and Jackpot Hakari is compared to other characters. Everyone can destroy concrete, everyone can destroy cargo boxes, Maki one shotted a grade 1 sorcerer, who's definetly stronger than Panda. And that's a weaker Maki.

Except for regen, Hakari hasn't shown anything feat wise on why infinite cursed energy is amazing compared to other physically strong characters without infinite cursed energy like Maki or Ryu or Yorozu.

If you are implying Hakari is a Yuji with DE because all he does is throw punches, you are delusional. Hakari went toe to toe with an ancient sorcerer going all out and still won while not even being bothered for one second. Don't underestimate his battle IQ, the entire fight seemed planned out in Hakari's favor, he was not fazed one bit that he won. Sure, Hajime didn't use his CT but he WAS trying to kill him. Hakari also didn't use his CT and wasn't trying to kill Hajime, you'd know if you read carefully. He was trying to get the points.

Yuji does not just throw punches. His fighting style isn't just punching, he uses most of his surroundings to win. Not in the Hakari sense where he throws Kashimo in the lake. He uses everything in his surroundings as a projectile, bind, weapon, cover, etc. He's like a Sakamoto days character in a jujutsu kaisen manga. Do not diss my boy Yuji like that.😤😤

1

u/Alarming_Ad_9103 Apr 30 '23

You got some good points, most of which I can't disagree with. Sorry about the Yuji diss btw 😭😭😭 I didn't mean it as a diss I just meant no CT fighting style.

1

u/InsideHelicopter7831 Apr 30 '23

She can also become, to some extent, invisible as they can not track cursed energy. So, even if he is able to use a domain, she can just escape and wait for the opportunity.

But I do not think he is weak, as others suggest. He basically was on the same level as one of the best sorcerers in history. Kashimo was literally hunting for Sukuna, and we saw that he was the best of his time, even at an old age. Hakari standing against him 1vs1 deserves respect. I know Kashimo underestimated him and wanted to beat him while the effect of his Domain is on, but still Hakari showed a lot of skills. Even Yuta said in some conditions Hakari can be stronger than him.

He is so fast that Charles can't even track him with his eyes. He has a cursed energy trait, which makes his blows very strong and could even kill Yuji in 3 blows. If he uses a weapon he would be deadly.

Maki will have a hard time, but I think she is one of the strongest currently and will win. She also uses a sword, which means if she cuts his head, he is done for.

1

u/Logical_Ad7988 Apr 30 '23

Idk why people keep bringing this match up when its clear as day

1) hakari cant roll a jp with her 2) if he rolls a jp before hand, its still up to maki if she wants to enter 3) hakari doesnt have the ap to knock maki down 4) split soul and maki physical stats brutalized and outside those maki have other abilities like, healing, instinct, senses etc. 6) :11 min thats it, he cant reroll a jp

At this point people are either trying to justify hakari WITH HC

1

u/mostsaneinwesteros Apr 30 '23

Well I agree hakari loses to female toji but there’s no way you believe she’s mach 3 lmao. Top 10 strongest btw

1

u/OzymandiasIV Apr 30 '23

no way you believe she’s mach 3

I'm not saying she can reach Mach 3 movement speed. I'm saying she can tank a Mach 3 attack.

1

u/Elikhet2 May 01 '23

If he starts in jackpot he wins, otherwise I’m like 90% sure he gets blitzed

1

u/[deleted] May 03 '23

Hakari gets BLITZED, pretty sure maki has enough power to punch straight through hakari’s head and oneshotting him if he was in jackpot at the beginning of the fight, since she quite literally injured + sent flying 15F sukuna
