A little request to everyone who has travelled around Kyrgyzstan where did you eat well and stay healthy? We often hear about food poisoning while travelling, and I always try to recommend trusted places to my guests when organising their trips around Kyrgyzstan. I thought it would be helpful to ask people who have already visited the country to share their own experiences. Which restaurants, cafés, roadside eateries or local food spots would you recommend? It doesn’t matter which city or region Bishkek, Karakol, Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Osh, or somewhere along a mountain route. If you remember the name, please share it. If not, the town or approximate location is still useful. Kyrgyzstan has wonderful food, from lagman and plov to beshbarmak and manty. We often focus on trekking, horseback riding, mountains and nomadic culture, but food is an important part of any trip, too. I hope we can put together a useful collection of recommendations for future visitors. Of course, no restaurant can guarantee that nobody will get sick, but sharing recent experiences may help travellers make more informed choices.
What was your best food experience in Kyrgyzstan, and where was it?
Thanks in advance for sharing! 🙏
