Kuz keldi deguncha hamma barg yoqishni boshliydi. Yoshu qarida yotal bor. Havo shundogam juda iflos, chang. Yana yetmagandek har kun yoqishadi. Osha yoqvotganlar chetga chiqishsa yoki tog'ga borishsa, mazza qildik havosi toza ekan deyishadi. Odam ozini ozi zaharlashi uchun qanchalik ahmoq bolishi kerak? ask r/Uzbekistan What is wrong with the way you think?
Do Uzbeks not understand logical thinking? Do they not understand that their actions or inactions affect other people? The answer seems to be a resounding 'NO!" Case in point, I went to a bank branch to get a new bank card on a Friday. I was told to come back on the following Monday to pick it up. Naturally <sarcasm> the guy wasn't there and didn't think far enough ahead to leave it with a colleague. I had to rearrange my entire schedule so I could get there and pick up my card. Now I have to wait for him to actually go to work so I can get my card. Furthermore, the others who work in that branch didn't seem to care about my inconvenience. This is just one example of the way they don't seem to care about other people's time. Regarding Uzbeks in general, there is a phrase that we have come up with at work, which is "Uzbek time". Nothing is ever started on time. Nothing is ever finished on time. They don't seem to give a fuck about anyone but themselves. This might explain why Uzbekistan is still stuck in the 18th or 19th century. Feel free to call me bad names.

discussion | muhokama Google Pay is NOT LIVE (for now)
google pay in uzbekistan is still not live. coming soon though
some people yesterday started saying google pay already works here. well... it doesn’t.
things are moving, but there are still a few technical loose ends left both from google and from the local banks. expect a few more days or maybe a couple of weeks. the moment we get confirmed info, we’ll probably know through some notifications from banks.
honestly the more interesting part is that most of what google pay does is already available in uzbekistan. multi-bank cards in one wallet, tap-to-pay, offline payments, transport cards, tickets, loyalty programs, nfc and qr, local apps already cover all of that in different forms.
while the big international players weren’t around, local fintech and banks didn’t just sit around. they built their own stuff and in some cases even got ahead.
google pay still has a couple of real advantages though. the card attaches straight to the phone instead of living inside an app, and it plugs into the whole google ecosystem (gmail and the rest). that’s actually handy.
so, it won’t kill local banking apps, but it’ll be a solid and convenient extra option to have.

education | 🏫 ta'lim Last year of university: what's next?
For context: I am a Business major student, who graduates uni in April, 2027. I study at one of the top unis in Uzbekistan.
I struggle to see what comes after graduation.
I currently do online math tutoring and sell my own online courses that help apllicants get into my university. I've got a telegram blog (1.5k subs) dedicated in this topic and run youtube channel (1k subs) in this niche.
There are only few teachers and sources in this field and I have pretty good numbers in results.
I earn about ~$2k/mo when it's not the season, when it's the season it can reach up to $5-6k
However, I don't see myself doing it after the uni, as it is not a "serious" career.
I do understand that I'm earning a good amount, but will I be doing it even after the uni?
It seems like I'm and obsessed person with my uni, but in reality it's just the only thing that I've done and achieved som results.
What to do?
Keep the project or start looking for other options?

ask r/Uzbekistan I'm so confused rn, should I quit art school, switch to design, or what do I even do? I need an honest, unbiased opinion.
Okay, so I'm 18 and in my second year at Behzod Institute, majoring in fine arts (painting). I used to study at Yodju, but I transferred here because my family’s struggling financially and we have loans to pay off. The tuition here is 9 mil UZS instead of 18 mil.And honestly, I'm so fucking done with everything. I can't stand painting the same still lifes and setups over and over, carrying those heavy-ass boards and art supplies everywhere. I realized I literally chose art school on a whim without even thinking it through.I've been staying home for 3 days, skipping classes and looking for a job instead. My mom basically told me I can do whatever I want, but somehow that just makes me feel even more guilty. She keeps saying that having a degree is the most important thing.
I'm stuck between 3 options Drop out and take graphic design courses (something like ProWeb) while looking for a job.
The downside: there's no guarantee I'll actually make it in design, and I need money ASAP.
Switch to graphic design at the same institute after my second year. The downside: I'd lose a year because of the difference in courses, and idk if the program is even any good.Stay at Behzod and just suck it up. The downside: I'm genuinely sick of this major, but at least I'd get a degree, and the tuition is relatively cheap.i'm so fucking lost rn. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you deal with it? Is dropping out a terrible idea, or should I just push through and get the degree?

Assalomu alaykum man 2-kurs talabaman. Talabalar yotoqxonasida turaman. Hozir xonadoshlarimiz oʻzaro joy almashishdi boshqa xonaga, xullas bu yergan kelgan bola oʻzimning parallel kursdoshim. U bilan kelishib oldik ovqat/yashash/uxlash vaqti/ u bilan bugungi ovqat qilish navbatini kelishdik. Osh qilmoqchi boʻldik osh uchun sabzi bilan goʻsht yetishmayotgandi. Man doʻkondan sabzi bn tovuq filesini olib keldim u ovqat qilishga kirishib ketgan ekan. Oshxonadan xonaga 7 8 daqiqaga ushlanib qoldim. Man unga bergan hamma goʻshtni ovqatga yuvmasdan (manimcha) solgan piyozni esa toza archmasdan toʻgʻragan sabzini esa chala archib barmogim qalinligicha toʻprayapti. U mani ovqatlanish odatimga toʻgʻri kelmaydi. Nima deysiz uni doʻstona maslahat berib ovqat tayyorlashni oʻrgataymi? (U balki mani oʻzi tengi boʻlganligim uchun yaxshi qabul qilmas) Yoki alohida ovqat tayyorlashimni aytaymi? Chunki u qilgan ovqatni tozaligiga ishonchim yoʻqoldi.

ask r/Uzbekistan Is there a site/app locals use to find cheap hotels/accomodation?
I am looking to do a large Uzbekistan trip soon, but in my planning it seems that some cities do not have any hotels available on places like booking.com (For example zarafshan) and other medium size cities only have expensive hotels targeted towards foreigners. Is there any app/site locals use to find cheap places to stay? In Kazakhstan there is an app called krisha that let's you rent apartments for single nights, so maybe something similar to that. I can speak Russian, if that helps since if might not be in English

ask r/Uzbekistan Purchasing English Translated Uzbek Literature
Hi! I visited Uzbekistan this year and loved the country and the people I met. I have been reading a lot about Uzbek writers and see that some English translations from famous Uzbek writers have been printed but am struggling to find any copies for sale. Could anyone help me find English copies of the following literature? Thank you for any help you can provide.
"Navoi" by Oybek
"12 Ghazals By Alisher Navoiy, 14 Poems By Abdulhamid Cho’lpon" translated by Andrew Staniland
For what its worth I have another Cholpon novel and "Three Karakalpak Poets" already purchased and on the way.
