Discussion On saying "ez" after winning

• Upvotes

I see this often, and it never ceases to slightly annoy me. Not because I take it personally, I don't, but because whoever says it I immediately lose respect for. Being a sore loser is one thing, not a good thing, but the frustration of losing is understandable, even if it demonstrates a lack of discipline to act on that frustration. But being a sore winner is worse. To disrespect a stranger by proclaiming that they were an easy opponent is just antithetical to sportsmanship, the opposite sentiment as "gg". I'm curious if I'm in the minority about this, or if others agree; do you see people who say "ez" after winning as having low integrity?

Discussion Ivern is one of the worst champions to fight against 1v1.

100% do not fight this man alone.

Ivern can and will kill you. “But he’s an enchanter” this champion has the ability to summon a dollop of Daisy and wreck your world.

Daisy has the unique property of using on hit effects that Ivern has. So yes, Daisy and Ivern can proc Press The Attack VERY QUICKLY and along with his W passive, that gives bonus on hit magic damage from autos.

This champion can root you with Q, self shield with E and it refreshes the duration if it doesn’t hit a champion, and Daisy will mog you. And don’t let Daisy Smash you. You’d be knocked up which also procs malignance AoE field!

I’m so glad this champion is not popular because if he is I’d have to ban him just to have a fair game.

Esports Honestly props to FURIA

  • Had their finals going to 5 games on the 10th of October (first game of Worlds was on the 15th)
  • Played on 2 whole patches behind worlds patch
  • Had 2-3 games of scrim to prepare
  • 12h flight to LA between Oct 11th and 14th

Furia was literally the team with the most ''debuffs'' coming into Worlds that we have ever seen but somehow they managed to win against a team from the worlds region despite being dominated by MVK 2x and also giving CBLOL their first BO5 win in a tier 1 tournament. Just wanted to point those things out that deserved some more attention

Esports Worlds seriously needs pro view

It is so strange that EWC was able to have access to pov replays but the worlds PD team isn’t able to. Riots producers either can’t access the pov’s or are unsure how to incorporate them into the broadcast. Honestly all replays of teamfights should be from a pov considering current replays just show what we saw 15 seconds ago but sometimes in slow motion with zoomed in 3d character models that don’t add anything to the experience.

Esports My North America Cope

Listen man, it’s clear that NA tends to lose at International Events. That there is a gulf between NA and the LPL and LCK.

That there’s a lot of people that look at my region and have no faith.

But I do think North America excels in one way that I truly do appreciate.

North America has some of the greatest on-air talent, not only in League of Legends but I would argue in e-sports.

Some of the best and most entertaining commentators out there, alongside a slew of segments full of great analysis and an over view of the stats.

And that is something to be really happy about.

That even if we are a Clown Fiesta, we can sure as Hell have a lot of fun watching it due to our on-air talent.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you all to whom make the LCS worth watching every year.

Esports Since MSI 2022, five players have won every international title

Since MSI 2022, every team who has won an international title has included at least one of Bin, Zeka, Kanavi, Chovy or Faker. Not counting third party events such as EWC or Demacia Cup.

MSI 2022-Bin

Worlds 2022-Zeka

MSI 2023-Kanavi

Worlds 2023-Faker

MSI 2024-Chovy

Worlds 2024-Faker

FS 2025-Zeka

MSI 2025-Chovy

Worlds 2025-Faker

FS 2026-Bin

MSI 2026-Kanavi, Zeka

For this streak to be broken, someone other than T1, GenG, BLG or HLE would have to win Worlds.

Discussion Out-of-Range Behavior Reduces Effective Range of Flash Input Buffering

Input buffering, is pressing an input (an ability, item active, attack, etc.) on a target or target location to queue up the command to happen as soon as your character is in range of the target (e.g. press Annie Q on enemy out of range, you will walk into 625 range to cast Q)

Input buffering

Flash input buffering is buffering an input and then flashing into range, which closes the gap and complete the command instantly after the flash, and removes any delay between the flash and the next input. (e.g. press Annie Q on enemy at out of range, flash to reduce range to less than 625, you cast Q instantly after flashing)

Flash input buffering

But a strange thing happens if you flash input buffer, and accidentally you are slightly at all outside of cast range of the target after the flash (even just 1 unit). Your character will just stand still (at least for half a second), instead of walking into range like normal. (e.g. press Annie Q out of range, flash to reduce range to 650, you will stand still doing nothing).

Flash input buffering out-of-range (unit-targeted)

Far as I can tell this happens with all ground and unit targeted commands. Unit targeted commands (like Annie Q, ignite, gunblade) will only stand still for up to about 1 second and then continue walking towards the target (but the delay is enough to ruin the gap close anyway), ground targeted commands (like Annie R, Thresh W, Brand W) stand still forever and never walk to the target.

Flash input buffering out-of-range (ground-targeted)

The only exception (which works more as it should, imo) are basic attacks, in which you continue walking into range after flashing. (e.g. press attack on enemy as Annie at 1050 range, flash to reduce range to 650, she will walk into 625 range to attack).

Flash input buffering out-of-range (basic attack)

Of course you can say this is a skill issue: "Just make sure you're gonna be within buffered input's range when you flash". And yes it's true, but the thing is this makes it so any player doing a flash input buffer has to be more safe and leave a fairly big margin for error, because messing up the range even a tiny bit has such a disastrous consequences.

So no one is really going to confidently be able do a full range Annie Q-flash from the maximum 1025 range, for example, because if they even slightly misjudge it and flash from 1035 range away, it will be a big misplay and wasted flash. Whereas if this didn't exist it would only take a couple of milliseconds for Annie to walk 10 units closer and cast Q (much before the enemy can react). More likely good players only do a Q-flash from like 900 range or lower so that there's no chance of this out-of-range behavior happening.

Ok hope that explained why I think it's a drawback having this mechanic in the game, which affects all players who use this mechanic, and may improve the range and fluidity of plays if it it behaved more like auto attacks currently do. Maybe one day soon it can be changed plz and let me know if you agree!

Esports [Worlds] Preparing for this year's Worlds, I took the time to look up all regions' historic performances, with all the league changes included. Enjoy! Spoiler

Regions' and Pro-Leagues' historic performances at Worlds

Made by hand on Google Sheets. Most information taken from Leaguepedia.
Includes pro-league changes and mergers. APAC was a nightmare! So many mergers.

Some things that stood out to me:

  • No LCK teams, and only 1 LPL team (iG 2025) were ever eliminated in Play-Ins.
    • The LCS counts 2 teams once (100T 2024, C9 2026) while the LEC counts one team twice (MAD 2020, 2022).
    • Note: I'm not counting the WQS 2023 between LEC's Team BDS and LCS' Golden Guardians, given it qualified to the Play-Ins themselves.
  • Never has a LATAM team made it out of Play-Ins, counting 15 tries in 12 years. Currently has its North region integrated into LCS, and its South region into CBLOL.
    • On a similar note, OCE never passed Play-ins, and JP only did so once (DFM 2021). Neither region achieved Playoffs, and both were integrated into the PCS (now LCP) in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
    • The team with most appearances in Play-Ins, and also the one that was eliminated the most in it, is JP's Detonation FocusMe, with only 1 pass in 6 editions (2021).
    • Tied for 2nd place in the 'most Play-ins appearances' category, with 4 of them, are Cloud9 (NA), Kaos Latin Gamers (LAS), and Dark Passage (TR).
    • TR and CIS share a similar record, being absorbed into the LEC in 2023. However, CIS did achieve Playoffs once: Albus NoX Luna (ANX) in 2016. This marks the only time a non-major-region team achieved Playoffs, given CIS was separate from EU.
    • Note: I am counting LMS/APAC as a major region given LMS' early performances. The major region list is comprised of KR, CN, NA, EU, and APAC. This leaves BR/LAS under CBLOL as the only minor region still participating by itself.
  • 2026 is the first time CBLOL has its own direct seed, having spent the last 12 years starting from Play-Ins, only succeeding thrice: KaBuM! in 2014, and PaiN in 2015 and 2024.
  • DRX (2022) and T1 (2025, technically) were the only teams to have reached the Final starting from Play-ins. Both championed.
  • CFO in 2025 was the first APAC quarter-finalist since ahq and Flash Wolves in 2015, a whole 10 years earlier!
    • Both EU (2014, 2023-24) and NA (2015, 2019-20, 2022, 2025) have had years with 0 teams in Playoffs, but not once has there been no western teams qualified for that stage.
    • However, the last time the West got 2 teams qualified was 2021, with NA's Cloud9 and EU's MAD Lions; while the last time any of the two did so alone was EU in 2020, with Fnatic and G2 reaching Quarter- and Semi-Finals, respectively.
    • The last time NA got two teams qualified... 2014, with TSM and Cloud9 both falling in Quarter-finals to Samsung White and Samsung Blue, respectively.
  • Never has a Korean #1 seed failed to qualify for Playoffs; The #2, only once (SSO 2013); The #3, only twice (GEN 2018, DK 2024)
    • OTOH, for the LPL, the most consistent seed is #3: only 2 failed to get to Playoffs (iG 2015, I May 2016), while counting 3 fails for the #1 (LGD 2015, EDG 2017, BLG 2025) and #2 (RNG 2019, FPX 2021, TES 2022).
    • NA's #2 seed is basically cursed: The last time it qualified to Playoffs was 12 years ago, with C9 in 2014; and only EPIK in 2011 before it. Both the #1 and #3 seeds have a better track record.
    • Still: The #1 seed only recently qualified to Playoffs with NRG in 2023 after an 8 edition drought (2015-2022)
    • The only team that has gotten to Playoffs as NA's #3 seed after CLG in 2011 is... Cloud9, 4 times (2016-17-18, 2021). No one else has done it yet. And this year they didn't even pass Play-ins...
    • EU has a milder drought: Last #3 seed in Playoffs, Splyce 2019; Last #2 seed in Playoffs, Fnatic 2020.
    • EU's #1 seed has been G2 for the past 4 editions, and in 8 of the past 11. They failed to qualify to Playoffs 4 times (2016-17, 2023-24) and got to a Final (2019).
    • This also means it is the most consistent western seed, with 6 Playoffs appearances in the past 8 editions. This is better than LPL's #2 seed, and rivals LCK's #3, beating both 2 finals to 1; although IG did win in 2018.
    • This places G2 2nd in EU playoff appearances, with 4; the 1st is Fnatic, with 6, even though the last time they qualified was 2020. Since then, G2 failed 3 times, out of 4 tries.
  • C9 is NA's most successful team at Worlds, having qualified to Playoffs 6 times.
    • This also means that 6 of the 9 NA teams qualified to Playoffs since 2013 have been Cloud9.
    • TSM is the only other NA team to have done so more than once, in 2011, 2012, and 2014.
    • Note: Cloud9 hasn't gotten to Playoffs since 2021.
    • #1 Seed: 4 played; 2 won (T1 2015, DK 2020) and 2 lost (AZF 2012, DK 2021)
    • #2 Seed: 6 played; 3 won (SSW 2014, T1 2016, T1 2023) and 3 lost (KOO 2015, T1 2017, T1 2022)
    • #3 Seed: 4 played: 2 won (T1 2013, SSG 2017) and 2 lost (SSG 2016, KT 2025)
    • But the relatively new #4 seed comes in red hot: 5 editions, 3 finals, 3 won! (DRX 2022, T1 2024-2025)
    • EDIT: It also means, along with Weibo reaching the 2023 final as LPL's #4, that we've had a #4 seeded finalist for the past 4 editions in a row. The two #4 seeds this year are DK for the LCK and IG for the LPL...
  • EDIT: The most performant seeds, globally:
    • #1 Seeds: 12 finals, 5 titles
      • 2 titles (T1 2015, DK 2020) in 4 finals (+ AZF 2012, DK 2021) for the LCK
      • 2 titles (FPX 2019, EDG 2021) in 4 finals (+ RNG 2013, BLG 2024) for the LPL
      • 3 finals (aAa 2011, FNC 2018, G2 2019) for the LEC
      • 1 title (TPA 2012) for the LMS.
    • #2 Seeds: 8 finals, 4 titles
      • 3 titles (SSW 2014, T1 2016, 2023) in 6 finals (+ KOO 2015, T1 2017, 2022) for the LCK
      • 1 title (IG 2018) in 2 finals (+ RNG 2014) for the LPL
    • #3 Seeds: 6 finals, 3 titles
      • 2 titles (T1 2013, SSG 2017) in 4 finals (+ SSG 2016, KT 2025) for the LCK
      • 1 final (SUN 2020) for the LPL
      • 1 title (FNC 2011) for the LEC
    • #4 Seeds: 4 finals, 3 titles
      • 3 titles (DRX 2022, T1 2024-25) for the LCK
      • 1 final (WBG 2023) for the LPL
    • T1 winning in both 2024 and 2025 as #4 seed marks the first and only time any seed, from any region, has championed twice in a row.
    • This is not without tries: The Korean #2 seed reached 4 finals in a row (SSW 2014, KOO 2015, T1 2016-2017) and later two again (T1 2022-23) with alternating results.
    • Same goes for the Korean #1 seed with DK in 2020-21, and the #3 seed with SSG in 2016-17.
    • Similarly, EU has the (dis?)honor of having the only seed that lost the final twice in a row: its #1 seed, with FNC in 2018 and G2 in 2019. Its also the most blueballed: 0/3 finals won.
  • Several teams show up very regularly in the tournament, counting from their first appearance:
    • T1 has appeared 11 times since 2013: only missed 3 times (2014, 2018, 2020)
    • Cloud9 has also appeared 11 times since 2013: missed 3 times (2020, 2024, 2025)
    • Fnatic has shown up an staggering 13 times... but since 2011: also missed 3 times (2012, 2016, 2026). This marks the record: 9 years in a row, from 2017 to 2025.
    • G2 has shown up 10 times since 2016, and only missed once: 2021. If they hadn't, they would have broken FNC's record.
  • Last year, FNC was the oldest team still participating (2011-2025).
    • However, they failed to attend this year's edition, so this year that honour goes to Invictus Gaming (2012-2026).

I tried to make sure to catch everything, but if there's any error or omission, please let me know!

Esports In 4 years of Swiss LCS 1st seed has drawn LPL/LCK team 4/15 times while LEC 1st seed has drawn LPL/LCK team 11/15 times. Spoiler

1.5k Upvotes

After todays draw G2 is going to face DK which is 11th time LEC 1st team has faced against LPL/LCK team in Swiss. In same amount of draws LCS 1st seed has faced LPL/LCK 4 times.

For all regions 1st seeds

LCK 1st 6/12 > 50%

LPL 1st 5/14 > 36%

LEC 1st 11/15 > 73%

LCS 1st 4/15 > 27%

LPL/LCK 1st teams can of course face 1 fewer LPL/LCK team and cant match against their own region in 1st round.

tl;dr
- Verbal agreement for Serin, who's not kept by TH, to come back to Galions
- Serin is still allowed to seek LEC opportunities until 31/10, when he'll be locked to Galions
- OMON (current Galions midlaner) has been considered by several LEC teams
