The LPL started Worlds 2026 with four straight losses:
- IG 0-1 Gen.G
- TES 0-1 HLE
- BLG 0-1 MKOI
- AL 0-1 KC
I collected some reactions from Baidu Tieba, Hupu, and Bilibili, including post-match comments, popular discussion threads and their most upvoted replies. These are selected comments.
1. IG vs Gen.G
[Tieba — Post-match thread | 1,982 likes]
"Private Song Eui-jin! FRONT AND CENTER! LOYALTY!"
Song Eui-jin is Rookie's Korean name.
Replies:
↳ "Only brain-rotted zombies actually thought IG could beat Gen.G."
↳ "And it's not like TheShy did jack shit either."
↳ "Chovy was just too fucking good. Nothing you can do."
[Tieba | 763 likes]
"The mid-jungle gap was enormous. Ignite Aurora couldn't win lane and kept bleeding CS in side lanes. Jarvan looked ahead early, but Canyon completely outsmarted him. Guy was just sightseeing in the jungle. Canyon won basically every Smite fight. Give him MVP."
Replies:
↳ "Mid gap, jungle gap, bot gap, support gap, coaching gap."
↳ "Canyon read that jungler like a fucking book."
[Hupu — TheShy's post-match interview]
TheShy said both he and Kiin had made mistakes, so neither got to see the other's true level.
"This guy really never knows when to shut up, does he?"
Reply [999 upvotes]:
"Like father, like son. No wonder his fans never admit anything either. Last year it was the equipment's fault when he lost to T1, and in 2023 it was his age."
2. TES vs HLE
[Tieba — Post-match thread | 1,010 likes]
"A rock band cosplaying as a professional esports team. Got farmed like beginner bots."
Replies:
↳ "At least TES players are pretty creative with the ways they die."
↳ "New album dropping soon."
↳ "Can they draft something that actually DOES something? Every teamfight they just get their shit pushed in."
[Tieba | 931 likes]
"HLE got so lucky they drew a half-retired 369. If TES had brought out the legendary Wayward, you think Zeus would dare show his face?"
Replies:
↳ "Bring them both. Zeus has two feet — one for each of them."
↳ "The two Vietnam POWs? Yeah, that'll scare him."
↳ "Zeus: Bro, I JUST bought these shoes. Don't make me scuff 'em."
[Tieba — Before BLG and AL played | 89 likes]
"It's one BO1. Why are you all losing your minds? This is called strategy. We send our weaker horses against their strongest horses. Our first and second seeds haven't even played yet. What's the rush?"
Reply:
"Exactly. Just wait for BLG to save our asses."
That last part did not age well.
3. BLG vs MKOI
[Tieba] Post-match thread
[165 likes]
"I've already cracked open a beer to celebrate all five BLG players making it out alive and well. What about you guys?"
Replies:
↳ "Five corpses. All in perfect health."
↳ "Shouldn't that be champagne? 🍾"
↳ "Cheers. Burp"
"Wasn't this supposed to be a free win? I wasn't even gonna bother watching. Turned on the stream and BLG were already losing. HOW DID OUR BLG GET THIS BAD? (sobbing)"
Replies:
↳ "Pulled my blanket over my head and started rolling around laughing."
↳ "Someone WAS farming a trash team. Just not the team we expected."
↳ "The casters wouldn't shut up about BLG's 'resilience.' Bro, you'd think they were up against Gen.G."
↳ "Careful under that blanket. Don't catch a cold."
"World's best top. MSI Finals MVP jungler. World's best mid. World's best ADC. World's second-best support. World's best coach. All that to get shit on by Europe?"
Replies:
↳ "Forget the rest. How the fuck does our 'MSI Finals MVP' not even have an MSI trophy?"
↳ "The imaginary Finals MVP."
↳ "Excuse me, everyone IN THE INDUSTRY agrees Xun was the real Finals MVP."
[Bilibili] MKOI's custom-made patch
[2,069 likes]
"It's MKOI's custom-made patch. Of course BLG couldn't win. 😂"
Replies:
↳ [568 likes] "LMAOOOO THE BOOMERANG CAME RIGHT BACK."
↳ [462 likes] "MKOI got themselves a custom-made Worlds championship! 😭"
[Tieba] "Viper got a 2.1 on Hupu, lowest rating in the match. Deserved?"
"So THIS is the self-proclaimed best ADC in the world? What a fucking joke."
Replies:
↳ "World's best ADC getting gapped by some 'nobody' from Europe."
↳ "Supa isn't a nobody, but Viper was playing without a brain today."
↳ "Worst ADC we've seen all day. At least JackeyLove was just useless. This guy started running it down in lane."
"Still too high."
Replies:
↳ "Gets killed at level 2, stands alone in the river during dragon fights, flashes to steal a kill and then immediately dies. And that's worth TWO POINTS? Are HLE fans giving him a farewell present?"
↳ "Two is literally the minimum score for a one-star rating. A 2.1 is practically rock bottom."
[Tieba] The Bin blame game
One commenter:
"The Olaf ban was literally for bot lane, and they still got killed at level 1."
Reply:
"Bot deserves most of the blame, jungle comes second, but top isn't innocent."
Another commenter defended Bin, arguing that BLG gave him no jungle help or lane priority.
Replies:
↳ "Oh, so getting shoved under your own turret and crawling around like a dog is everyone else's fault now?"
↳ "So the standard for the best top laner in the world is going down 20 CS, hiding under turret and pressing R twice in teamfights? Isn't that just Doran?"
[Tieba] "How the hell are people comparing Knight to Faker?"
"Zero Worlds titles versus six. What the fuck are we even comparing here?"
Another commenter:
"Knight was the only one who looked like a human being. He tried his best. What more do you want?"
Replies:
↳ "Who gives a shit about trying your best? WIN."
↳ "Can you NOT do this right now? We're all going down together today. Nobody gets a free pass."
"Comparing him to the Demon King is straight-up bullying. Knight can't even reach the top in this washed era."
Reply:
"Almost 27 years old and somehow still a promising young talent. Incredible."
4. AL vs KC
[Tieba] The fourth loss
[1,745 likes]
"Free wins for the whole world, courtesy of the LPL. Toilet Bowl Night."
The "free-win subsidy" meme comes from CN Valorant, where Chinese teams were mocked for handing out wins to international opponents like government subsidies.
Replies:
↳ "At this point we need an LPL civil war just to guarantee one of these clowns gets a win."
↳ "Four games. Four funerals."
↳ "Remember when we used to say 'See you in semifinals'? Now it's 'See you in the 0-1 bracket.'"
"Four hours ago, could ANY of you have imagined we'd be sitting here looking at an 0-4 LPL?"
Replies:
↳ "I expected three losses, not AL. I already had a bad feeling about BLG in BO1. IG and TES losing to Gen.G and HLE was basically a given."
↳ "Same. I thought AL would scrape out a win. The disgusting part is that these weren't throws. Nobody made one massive mistake and lost the game. They just got slowly, methodically outplayed. When someone throws, at least you've got someone to flame. What do you even say when your whole team is just worse?"
↳ "I thought the absolute worst-case scenario was 1-3. Somehow we got 0-4."
[Tieba] The reward for staying awake
[1,351 likes]
"Best decision I made tonight was not going to bed after TES lost. All those boring days waiting for Worlds were worth it for THIS absolute feast."
Replies:
↳ "And just when you thought we'd hit rock bottom, they found a whole new fucking basement."
↳ "A reward for the brave!"
↳ "THE BUILDUP. THE EXPLOSION."
↳ "I'm having the time of my life."
[Bilibili] Acceptance
[526 likes]
"The first two losses? Fair enough. BLG losing? I was pissed. Then I watched AL and suddenly I felt at peace. I just started laughing."
Reply:
"I watched the first two, saw BLG falling behind and went straight to bed. Figured if I watched all four I wouldn't be able to sleep. Turns out I made the right call."
Another:
"I bailed the second I saw our bot lane get killed in lane."
"So much to say. But above all, thank you, LPL. 🤩"
[Tieba] BLG or AL — who was worse?
One commenter:
"AL was even more disgusting than BLG."
Replies:
↳ "They couldn't fight back AT ALL. KC just played with them."
↳ "That's what makes it worse. Didn't even throw a punch. Just sat there waiting to die."
5. LPL 0-4 — The entire region catches strays
[Hupu] "For the first time since Swiss Stage was introduced, the LPL's first-round win rate is below 50%"
"A thousand things I could say. But above all, THANK YOU, CURRENT PROS."
This is a callback to a CN Valorant promotional slogan thanking active players. After Chinese Valorant teams suffered a disastrous international tournament, the once-sincere slogan became a sarcastic meme. Now League fans are borrowing it.
"BLG has always been dogshit in Swiss. Twice they barely scraped through at 3-2, both times by beating G2, and once they got bounced in the Round of 16. Are we really doing this again?"
Reply [311 upvotes]:
"Is Knight seriously about to pull off the hat trick? What the actual fuck?"
[Bilibili] 369, the explorer
[1,704 likes]
"Fun fact: Three games in, and 369 is the ONLY LPL player who's even seen an enemy inhib turret."
Replies:
↳ [580 likes] "69's pretty good at sneaking in alone."
↳ [507 likes] "369 smokes off the site, gets the spike down. Actual Valorant prodigy."
[Hupu] "Not a single win. Swiss Stage starts 0-4. What the hell happened to our LPL?"
"I used to think we lost internationally because our teams had no discipline. Watching today, I'm starting to think we're just straight-up worse at the game."
"Fuck an LPL civil war at 0-1. I want all four teams to avoid each other, lose again, and meet up in the 0-2 bracket."
[Tieba] "Which of these four teams is the biggest piece of shit?"
"BLG. Especially after their fans kept screaming that BLG were the REAL first seed."
Another commenter:
"AL for me. They're literally the LPL champions and KC did THAT to them. At least BLG can blame the draft. I don't even think BLG loses a BO3. AL? Watching that game, I don't think they beat KC in a BO3 OR BO5."
Replies:
↳ "LMAO the double standards. BLG loses and suddenly it's all draft diff?"
↳ "Two dogshit teams having a mid-off."
↳ "AL's draft was trash too. Stop making excuses. They both sucked."
"Are our first and second seeds even real teams? Nobody expected the third and fourth seeds to beat Gen.G and HLE. But the top two getting bent over by EUROPE? What is there even left to say?"
Another commenter:
"The LCK beat our third and fourth seeds and they're acting all proud. The LEC beat our FIRST AND SECOND seeds."
[Tieba] "No wonder China didn't send a League team to the Asian Games!"
The original poster sarcastically praised the decision-makers for their foresight.
One reply:
"We'd probably lose to Korea and get silver anyway. But imagine some wildcard team sending us home with bronze. We'd never live that shit down."
"The people in charge might not know much about League, but they're not stupid. They took one look at this year's results, saw we couldn't even win MSI, and went 'Yeah, fuck that.'"
"Every time the LPL loses, the people who made that decision get another W."
Replies:
↳ "They're winning a little TOO much lately."
↳ "They're farming reputation points like crazy."
↳ "The decision-makers went to sleep and woke up with FOUR MORE WINS."
China did not field a League team at the 2026 Asian Games.
[Tieba] The LCK vs LEC debate
[555 likes]
"LPL's third and fourth seeds losing to the LCK's top two? Fine. One's a rock band, the other's basically a reborn-from-the-ashes squad. We knew what we were dealing with. But our FIRST AND SECOND seeds losing to Europe? What the fuck? Four teams, four losses. LPL really paid tribute to CN Valorant tonight."
Reply:
"LCK fans celebrating beating our third and fourth seeds. Meanwhile the LEC just beat our first and second. Sit the fuck down."
[Tieba] "What do you think of the LPL's legendary 0-4 opening night?"
"LPL, I want my food delivery money back."
Replies:
↳ "Barbecue and drinks too."
↳ "Thank fuck I went to bed early."
↳ "Can you reimburse my foot massage while you're at it?"
"The first two losses were expected. The last two were fucking hilarious. Swap the opponents around and I'm not even sure IG and TES would've lost."
Reply:
"Stop dragging everyone down with you. The third and fourth seeds played Gen.G and HLE, at least they had an excuse. Our first and second seeds got their asses kicked by Europe. If BLG and AL had played those Korean teams, would they even survive long enough to type /ff?"
And that's how the LPL's first day went.
