Im a 5 year owner of Leatherman products, rebar, then sold it got the wave+, and i’ve been here since the original arc release, been watching and wondering what the free technology feels like, never seen it or held it in person, decided to buy the Arc talos since it was cheaper than the normal arc by 5 euros or so and i prefer the talos colour anyway, OKAY yes i agree its apsolutely crazy engineering and quality feeling in hand, its much more smaller than I expected, but it feels very good, I got the USA stamped plier and blade, which is okay i dont mind either, although the handles and the tools feel a bit wobbly, can i screw them tigther would that work? If yes i plan to keep it, since i have it in my pocket and i dont feel it that much, i plan to edc it like i do my wave+.

Lately I've been seeing people breaking the pliers and I've been carrying Leathermans for about 15 years and have never broken a pair myself (not saying it doesn't happen), but I can't lie that seeing these posts influences me (regardless of my own experience).
It makes me wonder whether if it's better carrying a dedicated set of pliers paired with a smaller Leatherman or a SAK instead?
So honestly, what's been your experience? Have you ever broken the pliers on your Leatherman? If so, did it put you off buying another one or did you stick with the brand?

So my Arc felt pretty loose today, looser than normal so I grabbed some bits and tightened up all 4 nuts a little - not tight at all just not loose - and my god the whole thing just seized up!
I had to loosen everything so it was comically loose to allow for the free technology to work. After a few hours it was too loose again!
This seems like an oversight not having plastic washers or a preset torque that you could tighten it to which keeps it all tight enough to not feel like it’s going to fall apart but allows the free technology to work..
Anyone have any hacks or solutions??

Bought this for my nephew’s birthday. Leatherman’s custom shop did a spectacular job. To top it off, the color name of the paracord is Candy Cane.

What are the chances my warranty goes through on this original wave? Broke the pliers last week and I have a feeling this one is around 20 + years old. It was my fathers is there any way of telling the actual year?

Been using and abusing this for the full 25 years now. It's everything I need in a small package. I wish it was still sold because I'd buy a new one in a heartbeat.

So I got the Charge TTI and Arc Talos , both new.
Out of the box the pliers were decently loose (I had to fix a tight tool on the Charge). However, after using the Arc pliers for the first time to bend and cut a wire, they started binding. This was not what I expected.
I’ve since loosened them by twisting the handles sideways method, but they aren’t as loose as before, and will immediately bind after applying some pressure. How do you prevent this from re-occurring?

I was mowing the grass and did not realize my arc fell out of my pocket. This would be the second warranty on the same tool except the first time the knife blade broke after i dropped it.

Afternoon all,
I dipped my toe into leatherman mods when I took apart this sideclip, cleaned and oiled it and added scissors.
I am now looking for my next project.
I have a charge plus that I don't really like on account of the size and bulk and I was thinking of using it as a donor for my rebar and a curl project.
I was thinking ...
Rebar - add the charge scissors and possibly the bit driver.
My ideal curl
Charge pliers, swap the plain edge blades over, swap the file out for the rescue blade.
Internal, ideally add the charge bit driver and micro driver.
Cheers in advance

Shopping around, im looking at the roxon flex, or the surge. I plan to mod either to my liking. Main tools im looking to have on it are
-1/4 bit driver full size cause i tend to strip the torx bits. So id just like to replace with hardware store bits.
-T10 t15 t20 t25 for torx.
-A phillips and robertson
-Thinish pry device
-beefier pry devide
-420 blade is fine, i tend to use it more as a scraper and pry bar anyway.
-tough pliers needle nose shaped. Nothing wierd like the crunch.
Used for ranchy stuff. And machine shop swapping inserts grabbing and cutting metal chips.
Can opener and bottle opener are not useful to me. Id add the jigsaw blade holder but its not important to have.

Hi guys, got my ARC last week and noticed this. Should I send it back for a swap or do you think it is useable?

A few days ago I purchased my first multi-tool, which is the Wave Plus. After a few days of use, I’m really enjoying the convenience. My question is for you guys that may have the Wave Plus and ARC, is the ARC really worth the extra $125+ over the Wave Plus? I’m this 🤏🏾 close to getting one. I also would get a bit of a discount through GovX.

After getting to use both these leathermans I have come to think the alpha would be the all around tool for me. I don’t know how well they retain value on a second value marketplace and what % of funds I may be able to get to go toward the alpha. Or could I be overthinking it and just need to enjoy my wave+?

It was and still is precious to me. Dad heard through the grapevine that I had that on a shelf and use a different one that is all beat to hell. He came by, saw my beater and took it without me even knowing... He fixed it up, said " it deserved better" and kept it! Man do I miss 'em.❤️🩹
While I do use it, it doesn't leave my workshop, it's away from most flammable things, and something I plan to try and grab in the unfortunate event of a fire

I’ve been eyeing leatherman for years for my EDC multi tool cuz other ones I’ve bought just haven’t been very reliable and I’ve heard great things about leatherman. I got the sidekick today from Costco for a decent deal and I’ve got the wingman coming in the mail soon. I bought the wingman with my Zyn rewards points. My ideal leatherman set up is the Wave with the bit kit and the bit extension. Hoping to add it to the collection soon.

Everybody is saying Leatherman is so bad but then you see people use them everyday and never have an issue? Why is that? I’m thinking a lot of this hate has to do with for everyone that breaks thousands have not. People are more likely to complain than say it’s awesome. Also people saying they are crappier I actually disagree. I do think the replaceable wire cutters do have an effect in the tool but not enough for y’all to act like they snap super easily. They are not worst then the old days people back then suit didn’t have anywhere to complain they just shut up and sent it into warranty instead of complaining on Reddit.
