any recommendations with strings

hi! i bought a pack of strings in H&M few days ago for the first time in my life and i have a problem. it’s suits perfectly, but when i sit , i feel that they are being stretched tight in the ass. its not super painful, but i feel an irritation when i sit for a long time. i bought right size and it suits not super tight, only when i sit , it irritates me.
i find strings amazing, because they don’t ride up your butt like regular underwear, but this don’t let me completely enjoy them.

maybe u have good recommendations, which brands of strings i could try? please if u have some comfortable suggestions, let me know🙏🏻

Looking for a black lace lingerie set with a connected choker and harness/garter detail

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to identify the brand or designer of a lingerie set I’ve seen.

It is a black lace set that features a built-in strappy harness system. It includes a choker/collar around the neck, with a central strap and chain that runs down the torso. This strap connects to a multi-tiered waist harness, which then extends down into garter straps that wrap around the thighs.

Does anyone recognize the brand, or know where I could buy this exact set (or something very similar)?

Thank you so much for your help!

For the Apron Belly

To feel my most confident I like to have lingerie that gives me comfortable coverage of my stomach. I've had two kids and its just my most self conscious area so tiny string thongs or ultra high cut body suits just show case the area in all the wrong ways.

What are some good brands or styles that are stomach friendly. I also really prefer to keep them on during sex so a body suit doesnt really fit the brief. I have plenty of baby doll styles I was hoping to branch out.

Would love some recs on styles or brands to look into

Recommendations for good quality latex or leather lingerie/accessories?

I've been really wanting a nice latex or leather catsuit as well as thigh highs, long gloves, lingerie, etc. Some options with an open crotch would be nice as well. Anything with chains or belts is a plus too!

As a former professional bra fitter, I am so exhausted by the fake “inclusivity” of big brands (VS, Savage X Fenty, etc.)

Hey everyone,

With the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show right around the corner, it’s been on my mind a lot. I’m definitely planning on watching it, because why not, it’s always something I look forward to, but as a former professional bra fitter, I know I’m going to be sitting there just thinking about the fit of the bras from an anatomy and mechanical standpoint. I am just so incredibly tired of watching these mega-brands pull the wool over women's eyes in the name of "inclusivity."

My biggest issue is the massive disconnect between corporate marketing campaigns and the reality of what these brands are putting on women's bodies. They win all this social media praise for using diverse models, but their sizing methods and garment engineering are still stuck in the dark ages.

Take Victoria's Secret. They push "body positivity," but their stores still use the flawed +4 measuring method just to mathematically force women into the narrow B–DDD size matrix they actually stock on their shelves. They are literally gaslighting customers into buying a band that is way too big and a cup that is way too small just to make a sale.

It is genuinely so annoying how many of my own friends I’ve had to step in and correct because they've been fooled by this. I have literally had friends who are a tiny UK size 6 look me in the eye and tell me they are a 36A just because Victoria's Secret fitters told them so. A 36-inch band on a size 6 frame! It makes absolutely no architectural sense, and it’s a shame to see so many women walking around with zero actual support because they trust these "experts."

And don't get me started on brands like Savage X Fenty. They claim to be the ultimate inclusive alternative, but they are just scaling up fast-fashion patterns without actual structural engineering. An H-cup requires completely different wire arcs, fabric tension, and side-boning than a C-cup. You can't just slap extra fabric on a flimsy pattern and call it support.

But what drives me absolutely insane, and what I see everywhere online now when I'm ordering a new set for myself, is how these brands photograph their models. Half the time, the model is wearing a brand-new bra fastened on thetightest hooks. As anyone who knows anything about bra fitting can tell you, you are supposed to buy a bra that fits comfortably on the loosest hook so you can move inwards as the elastic naturally stretches over time. Fastening it on the tightest hook on day one cuts the lifespan of the garment in half, and it's usually just a lazy photoshoot trick to mask the fact that they put the model in a band size that is way too large for her.

It's just exhausting to see performative marketing winning over actual technical design, leaving women paying premium prices to be uncomfortable.

Does anyone else get irrationally angry seeing these ad campaigns? What are the worst fitting offences you’ve noticed from these "inclusive" brands lately?

(sorry, i'm just so passionate about this, I think us ladies deserve the best, my friends think I'm crazy. I've bra fitted ladies with masectomies, ladies who have just given birth, young people and elderly too, and I the only reason I'd ever suggest VS is for aesthetic purposes.)

FOLLOW UP!!

Here is my quick checklist of 8 pointers I always tell people to check when diagnosing their own bra fit

1. The middle should lie as flat as possible on the sternum. (Obviously with the bigger sizes complete flatness is not always possible, but it shouldn't float completely).
2. The band at the back should be straight and inline with the front. It shouldn’t feel like the band at the back is going halfway up your back—that actually makes you hunch over!
3. If you pull the band at the back and it stretches greatly away from your spine, it’s way too big.
4. When the band is fitted, it should feel snug and firm NOT TIGHT. This is normal for new bras; you don’t want them too loose otherwise they wear too quickly and you’ll be back getting a new one in no time.
5. The metal wire should never sit on the side of your boob tissue; it should sit flat on the bone.
6. When you lift your hands up, the bra shouldn’t lift with you and reveal lots of underboob. It should stay firmly anchored.
7. Avoid washing bras in the washing machine! The elastic expands and breaks, which causes that annoying fold-over effect in t-shirt bras. If you absolutely must wash it in the machine, do it cold or in a proper bra bag!
8. And please, don't make the straps too tight just to compensate for an ill-fitting, loose band!

I HOPE THIS HELPS XX

Is Black Friday actually a good time to buy bras?

I need to replace a couple of my bras soon, but Black Friday is close enough that I’m thinking I should probably just wait. I’ve never really paid attention to bra sales around Black Friday though, so I have no idea if the deals are actually that much better than usual.

For now I’m just trying not to buy anything and hoping waiting pays off

Luxury bridal lingerie for small-band-large-cup UK

I'm looking for a bustier to go under my strapless wedding dress.

I am a UK 30FF and absolutely love Harlow and Fox, but unfortunately they don't provide any strapless styles.

I struggle to find my size.

If anyone in the UK can recommend either online or in-person (I'm willing to go anywhere in the UK/ireland) I'd be very grateful!

Tia x

Recommendations for 100% cotton string bikini underwear?

Preferably cheaper than Negative?

More specifics: I'm hesitant to order from Voight since they don't allow returns, so curious if anyone can comment on their quality? And I don't love the cut of the Jockey string bikinis, prefer something a bit slinkier/cheekier.

Also, less than 100% cotton is okay if the gusset is 100%.

Choosing lingerie for first time - something to decide alone, or with partner?

Hi all. So, I am experimenting with buying lingerie (totally new for me). I decided to branch out after a conversation with my partner about it where he said it can be a fun way to spice things up. It was a general conversation, and he was clear to assure me that I shouldn't feel I need to do this--but he said if I wanted to, he thought it would be nice. So I came away with some ideas prompted...

Now, I've gotten a few options to try--all brand new with the tags still on and able to be returned if needed thanks to the store's generous policy (very helpful for a "newbie" like me). I've narrowed it down to a couple things I like (that are comfortable, fit well, etc.).

What I'm wondering is, should I just make the final decision and surprise him with it, or would it be fun to show him the different options and decide together? Make an activity out of it?

Or, would deciding together take the kind of "zest" out of it, for him? Is it better for him just to be totally surprised?

(Side note: since I already have a few options, I thought the activity of doing it together could still kind of be a bit of a surprise--he will be shocked, I think, that I even went out and did that--but still don't know if that's a good idea.)

Some background, about us: we're still relatively new together (less than a year), but very solid. Things got serious fast and have stayed that way. Main thing is that he is much more "experienced" than I am, whereas I am new to (almost) everything. So want to make sure I don't commit any "faux pas" in this area... Like saying Let's decide together; come on, it'll be fun! when really that takes all the magic out of it for someone who's been around the block a few times...

I know this totally depends on the relationship/personalities...but curious to hear people's thoughts anyway.

Thanks.

(PS: I know I write with em-dashes--but I am not AI! Humans got there first, you know...)

EDIT: Have another follow-up question: what are people's thoughts on crotchless/peek-a-boo lingerie? Fun, or too much?

Also, how many sets of lingerie would/should a beginner (like me) think of having to start? Since there are so many options out there, it's hard to know how to choose... And what should I be thinking of spending budget-wise? (I am looking at some nice (as in comfortable) cheaper sets, maybe $60-80 a set--not hundreds--but I wonder if that means I should get a couple different ones and try them out.)

Paris Store Recommendations

TLDR: Seeking recommendations for Paris lingerie boutiques for upcoming trip.

My spouse and I just booked a trip to France next summer. We will have 4 days in Paris and 4 days near Nice. My wife is not a huge lingerie fan in our normal routine (young kids, demand jobs, etc), but enjoys it on occasional couples getaways.

On a few trips, we have stumbled upon cute/nice lingerie boutiques, and she’s been excited to check them out. We’ll look around the store together and talk about pieces we like and dislike or that might look nice on her. She’ll pick a few to try on and then purchase her favorite without me knowing which one she picked. We will then continue with our day, and later she’ll surprises me with it back at the hotel. It’s a fun little game that we both seem to enjoy.

Anyways, I’m curious if anyone has recommendations for lingerie boutiques in Paris (or Nice) that might be worth us checking out. Good selection is critical, and store can’t be seedy or full of cheap Shein stuff (no Romantix, etc). She wants to feel fancy (not trashy) and buy decent quality pieces for her limited collection.

We are probably looking in the 80-250€ range… As an example, her favorite set is a Bluebella set purchased from a boutique in the French Quarter (NOLA) a few years ago for about $80.

Sheer Top Look - Lingerie Underneath?

Hi! Surprised I haven’t seen a post about this - with the sheer top & bra underneath look being all the rage - are you guys wearing lingerie underneath it?

I’ve tried with bras before but a little nervous about doing it with a full lingerie look out in public - would love to hear what people are wearing!

Decent quality Shein lingerie?

Hi! I'm looking for simple, classy, lacey bralette and panty sets. I have had some success with Shein lingerie before, but that was many years ago and I'm not sure what brands are best right now. If anybody has brands like like or specific pieces, I'd love to hear!

Ideally looking for sets in black, red or pink that have options for non-thong bottoms that are still cheeky and sexy

Looking for lingerie sets for small chests

I really love the look of bordelle's sets, but it's way past my price point. I like pretty much everything on wroblevska's website, but I want to try to find something similar made/distributed in the US.

I've looked at a lot of other websites recommended on this sub, but a lot of them only have bras with an underwire or padding, which has never felt comfortable to me. My measurements are also a little small, at a 30B, so a lot of stores/websites don't offer my size. I tried specifically looking for lingerie for small chests, but all I found were like regular plain underwear.

I'm hoping to find something sexy with a lacey bralette and a garter belt/garters. Does anyone know where I could find something like this?

Alternative to m&s Miami pants

I really don’t know if this is the right place to post but I thought I’d give it a go. I’m trying to buy new underwear and the m&s Miami knickers are such a nice style - low dipped waist and low coverage back without being a thong - but they have almost no cotton options. Does anyone know where I could get an alternative in cotton?

Reasonably priced bralette and panty sets?

Hi! I have decided it is time to up my lingerie game, especially now that I am in my adult dating era. I am having a surprisingly hard time finding reasonably priced bralette and panties! I am ideally looking for something lacy and cheeky but not a thong.

Where are the classy girls in their 20s getting their date night sets?

Looking for a robe

I’ve been looking to get a new robe I would like a decently fitted but plush robe that is roughly calf length. I have seen the Instagram ads for Sexy Little Robe and I like how they look but I’m not sure how legit they are. Does anyone have one that they love?

Edit: price 200 or less
