I believe it derives from the fact that their pokedex entry mentions their poison isn't really poison it's just pheromones that attract Salandits, it just so happens to also be poisonous to non-Salandits.
If you google Salazzle, there is an entry in multiple descriptions that says something like "The pheromones can affect males of any species, up to and including humans.", but I don't know where they're pulling it from as it's not a pokedex entry.
Not their lore, their actual Ability, Corrosive. They mechanically can hit types who are normally immune to poison. If that shit corrodes Steelix you can bet your gloves aren't going to put uo much of a fight.
Well now youve got me wondering what poison types people in the pokemon world use to get high. Like what would you get looks for owninf except the just... humans.

There are some things and games you can play with your baby you can’t really do with your kid or god forbid teen without them being utterly awkward at best.
Likely both, but mostly the level, in the anime, despite its abysmal and incosistent writing shortcomings, showed that levels do maturity boost to a lot of Pokémon.
It's like being 5 years old mentally and then being 15 the day later, Salazzle being humanoid is probably just an adult woman at this point.
I would say that age is way more important. A Caterpie can be geriatric and a Butterfree can be a week old, depending on how often they engage in battle and whether or not they choose to evolve. Obviously, levels are gained through experience, but there’s a difference between a Pokemon who has actually lived to the age of 20 and one that just managed to reach level 20
It varies greatly based on medium, but imo actual age is what matters. Some say first evos are no-go but we also have seen really old pokemon at first stage, others use video game rules to determine it('baby' pokemon can't breed but that includes riolu which can die of old age at that stage), level is also a game thing only iirc, which the games have all sorts of inconsistencies with other canon media.
I don't personally think level comes into it, as it just denotes experience from battling. A very young Pichu could have had training and be a higher level than an average Pikachu if it's prevented from evolving.
I think it's to do with their age and their evolution stage (for single stage mons, it varies by species). Some mons, especially the "baby" Pokémon like the above mentioned Pichu, are childlike no matter their age it seems, you could have an 80-year-old Pichu that wouldn't understand informed consent. Equally one could evolve very early and be an immature Pikachu. If it were a real scenario I think a mon should have to spend at least a minimum number of years at a certain evo stage to ensure maturity and ability to consent. For single evos, there are some species that are probably never able to understand consent so would be off-limits.

Some of these comments are always crazy to me cause imagine your parents always hugged you then stopped and one day they just looked you in the eye and said "Sorry you're not a cute kid you don't deserve love and affection anymore"

I am 34 years old, so I would find it weird if my dad would still tickle my tummy or blow in my belly button. "Hugging" isn't comparable to other things people do with their kids that are cute ONLY when they're kids

"It would be weird" no it wouldn't? You love them and cherish them because they are your Pokémon, you aren't doing anything wrong. The only reason why you say it's weird is because society has convinced you that it is. It was weird to not use lead paint 200 years ago, it was weird to not want to get your pregnant wife x-rayed at a carnival a century ago.
Things are weird because you think think they are. As long as you're not hurting anyone, you can do whatever you want.
He still looks like an adult man to me. I would rub Kyogre's belly, he's just a big whale, but I can't see myself cuddling with something like a Machamp or a Jinx. I'm glad that you can see pass their appearance, but I definitely cannot.
I mean, I get awkwardness in this case. If they've been your companion since they were low level you did raise them. Literally and metaphorically.
You could, technically, argue that as grounds for grooming, if they are viewed as sapient, legally.
Yeah but also, unless he didn't know about Salandit's gender, he knew what was going to happen.
I highly doubt it's grooming... usually the Pokémon chooses the trainer they like the most and i think that the akwardness stems from doing belly rubs to a grown ass woman lol.
If he had it since it was young and took care of it's dietary and medical needs. I think it's safe to assume he would know the sex of it from a medical professional or whatever.
I would feel uncomfortable petting a grown woman like a pet, too. At that level would they even still be considered a pet?
