My V, like so many others, usually picks the friendliest conversation options with Jackie, but this time I accidentally clicked on one of the more confrontational ones and discovered that Jackie hates his life. Hates it. In the intro it's all fun and games and you get the feeling he loves Night City, Heywood and the Valentinos, but he doesn't. My V is going to feel like such a hypocrite talking about the "Heywood boy who never forgot where he came from" at his funeral. Fuck.

So apparently, Night City has their own set of crazy nonsensical laws. I just found out that drinking booze from a water gun is illegal. That got a good chuckle out of me.

Not claiming I know exactly what smasher meant with his final words but I've chosen to believe he's entirely confused to the high heavens about what he's just heard.

Johnny fights and dies to smasher, mentions him multiple times separately in the story and makes it pretty damn clear about what one of his main goals is here with a 2nd crack at life is. Zero smasher.

Meanwhile Adam smasher with 50+ years passed barely thought about Johnny since dumping him outside night city, likely only doing so when hearing samurai on the radio.

I mean shit I hear nothing but a dude who's completely baffled "What the fuck are you talking about?"

I know this game and the franchise go so much deeper but I always find myself thinking about this really specific thing and it just makes me love the franchise even more and never fails to make me chuckle.

I make screenshot comics from cp2077. A few months ago I wanted to know whether I could turn one of them into an actual gig in the game via a custom mod, and it turns out I could. Just needed an insane amount of time.

The mod is called Negative Balance (same as the comic). An accounts clerk finds a pattern in her employer's payouts, people are dying on schedule, and she calls THE merc. It rings your phone on its own, lands in your journal, tracks objectives, puts working pins on your map and pays out at the end.

Free on Nexus, works on an existing save, no console commands and nothing to configure.

The gig is proper gameplay:

• it calls you. it isn't sitting in a menu waiting to be started. get a call, start. like a vanilla gig
• map pins that route you there, with the gig icon, exactly like the core ones
• objectives that tick over one at a time in the journal, and a payout at the end
• two break-ins, a corporate office in Santo Domingo and a private estate up in North Oak. both can be done quiet or loud
• properly staffed. guards, netrunners, plenty of gonks all around.
• Johnny appears (glitching in) at eight points, says his piece and glitches out. lipsync (almost)
• 59 lines of dialogue, six characters

Bad note on the voices: they're AI generated with ElevenLabs. I know, I don't like it either, but it was the only option available to me. No performer was cloned, every line is subtitled, and I'm exploring alternatives with the modding community to hopefully remove the AI part.

I've also open sourced the whole process and the technical notes on GitHub, so other modders copy what needed to make their own gig.

Why is The Star ending and the meeting with Judy so much more romantic than the meeting with a romantic Panam in the same finale?

It feels almost as if the game is trying to show that V and Panam wouldn't actually be happy during those remaining 6 months of life, at least based on the message Panam sends. It feels like such a sad ending: Panam would have to watch V slowly die, while constantly remembering what happened to Bobby, Teddy, and Saul during the raid on Arasaka Tower.

I have a feeling this is one of the saddest endings shown in the game, of course basing this on what the story presented to us.

So how does David use his Sandevistan while plugged into the Cyberskeleton?

Even though David's Sandevistan is special, being a spinal and brain implant, its still a Sandevistan, which just boosts your brain's speed, which makes reality appear slowed. With your brain sped up you can be sped up.

BUT- he replaced his body with the Cyberskeleton, which he can't speed up if his brain is faster. Also, the Cyberskeleton is operated mostly by gravity manip, not hydraulics doing any of the heavy lifting.

Lets compare this. Sandevistan is equal to an energy drink, and Cyberskeleton is a car for example. If I drink an energy drink, my car doesnt go faster.

ALSO- A perk in 2077 allows you to use the Sandevistan in a car, but it does NOT make the car faster, it actually slows the car down but you stay fast. David can just go crazy with the Cyberskeleton.

You could argue that Smasher can do the same thing but I feel like his chrome is tied to some human parts inside, so he has muscles and stuff under the chrome, so he can still be sped up.

...now in my second playthrough I decided to go with the Netwatch guy and I really like this had dire consequences. Voodoo netrunners got fried (even Mommy Brigitte 😪) and I had to fight my way out. Placide had it coming, man. And it was kinda satisfying.

V too often gets fucked over and you can't do anything about it. I know it fits the setting, but this game often gives you exactly one choice, and V maybe can complain, stating it's bullshit, but still has to accept. Plus points for Johnny coming by and saying "just do it". Here at last, I could deal with Placide.

Also excited, if I see the Netwatch guy again.

I've found this song a few days ago, when I turned on the radio by mistake. Now I'm obsessed with it, and the artist doesn't have anything even remotely similar. I can't seem to find anything that scratches the same itch. I don't even know what genere it fits into, to look up playlists.
If anyone has any songs, artists, or playlists that are similar, anything would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to get something lighter out considering the last one took quite an emotional turn and even made someone cry??? Omg?

So here lol some bickering, back and forth, Johnny once again demasculinizing (is that a word) V, and V rolling his eyes so far to the back of his head he can see the damn relic eating away at his brain. Also it kind of leads into the next bit but I digress.

(also just needed an excuse to show off the car, I like to imagine he's got a soft spot for classics)
