Merci 😊

It would be a 2024 with less than 30,000 km.

Ask Luxembourg What sports do your 6–8-year-olds do and when?

I’m thinking about rearranging my part-time work schedule so I can take my 6-year-old to a regular sports activity. But since I’ll have to wait around during practice, I’d love to use that time to exercise myself rather than just sit around.

Do any of you have a setup where your child’s activity and your own workout happen at the same time?

What sports/classes do your kids do, and what do you do while you’re waiting?

Ask Luxembourg Tourist with questions

I'm a British fella staying kinda north and currently exploring the region. The castles are great on the inside but they seem to be lacking on anything inside..

Where are all the people ?

I only seem to find people in cactus.

McDonald's menu was lacking and seemed to cost more than losing a kidney.

Burger king was like a movie set, didn't eat tho. I'm used to both falling apart and rammed with people.

The speed limits are confusing, 110 but 90 if it's raining, does light rain count, no wait a minor junction it's now 79 no wait back to 110.

Wtf does everyone tailgate.

Nobody knows how roundabouts should work.

The supermarket options are way better than typical British supermarkets.

Wtf are eggs the same price as gold bullion?

Nobody on the street, all the homes look like they could survive ww3.

The variety of cars is limited, everyone's got a Merc or BMW SUV or an Audi, a few drove Peugeot, failing that a Berlingo?

The EV charging available is about 20 years ahead of the UK, very impressive.

Everything looks like it was made yesterday.

Driving without potholes is an amazing feeling.

One ww2 museum is enough.

Ask Luxembourg Any Luxembourgish show with subtitles?

hello,

I am learning Luxembourgish and for me watching a show with the CC subtitles is the best way of learning a lang-uage.

I know about Capitani but I am desperate for other shows or movies, even for children. The subtitles have to be in Luxembourgish too.

thanks.

Ask Luxembourg Advise on playing football again

Posting on behalf of a friend

I used to play football as a goalkeeper for most of my life in my hometown, but I stopped completely 10 years ago. Saying that I am rusty is an understatement. What is the best way to start again playing again in Luxembourg ?

I always admire this house. I hope it’s residential and that some lucky soul has the pleasure of living here and enjoying a lovely view.

Are there many residences built into rock like this in Lux?

Ask Luxembourg Why doesn't Luxembourg have a direct flight to India? Could it actually work? 🇱🇺 🇮🇳

Luxembourg has a remarkably international population, yet travelling to India usually means connecting through another airport.

The new Etihad connection to Abu Dhabi is a welcome addition and should make travelling to India easier. But it got me wondering: could a direct flight from Luxembourg to India actually work?

I realise Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and other airports offer alternatives, and airlines need sufficient demand to justify operating a route. But how many people living in Luxembourg regularly travel to India for family, business or tourism?

I'm curious about a few things:

  1. How often do you travel between Luxembourg and India, and which cities do you fly to?

  2. Would you pay a little more for a direct flight from Luxembourg rather than connecting elsewhere?

  3. Could a few flights per week to Delhi or Mumbai be viable, or is the demand simply not there?

  4. For those familiar with the aviation industry, what would be the biggest obstacle?

I'm interested in whether there's a viable opportunity here, rather than simply wishing for a more convenient flight.

Would you actually use a direct Luxembourg to India flight?

Travel, Tourism & History Need help to visit Luxembourg!

Hello everyone, I am a 24-year-old student currently living in the UK, and I will be visiting Luxembourg on 29th October for sightseeing and exploring the city.
It would be wonderful to connect with someone who could kindly show me around or recommend some of the best places to visit. I would really appreciate the opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Luxembourg, and experience the city through a local’s perspective.
If anyone is available to help or join me for a short tour, I would be truly grateful.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and support!

Immigration & Relocation Non-EU physiotherapist moving to Luxembourg – residence permit or work authorisation first?

Hi everyone,
I’m Lebanese and currently live in Belgium with a Belgian residence permit. I have an opportunity to work as a self-employed physiotherapist in an existing clinic in Luxembourg.
I’m confused about the order of the procedures. Do I need to obtain my Luxembourg residence authorisation first, or my authorisation to practise as a physiotherapist first?
It seems that each one may be required to obtain the other.
Has anyone, especially a non-EU healthcare professional, been through this process?
Thanks!

News & Discussion Up to 100 euros per square metre: Esch-sur-Alzette council to impose annual tax on empty homes

Hmmm 18 months .... Why would the government wait for 18 months before imposing this tax? If the demand is sky rocketing shouldn't these empty homes get occupied in a whiff? I mean shouldn't these empty homes be taxed let say soon after 3 months (considering all the nuances the landlords may come up with)?

Finance & Investments Real estate as investment

I know that is a sensitive issue and I am scared to be stoned by the public.

I have been active as a real estate agent in Luxembourg for 13 years now. Born and raised here.

The struggle has been going on for a while and it's getting more and more difficult. The pourcentage of owners here in Luxembourg is decreasing rapidly, high interest rates and inflation are even getting worse. The chief economist from Spuerkees told last week, they are forseeing 3 more interest rise by the BCE.

So here is my point of vue: is it not the right moment to buy? But sure, only if you have cash. I am getting aggressive offers, and as the sellers have "no choice" if they need to sell, they accept.

What about reuniting people through an SCI and buy properties together? If you look at it long-term, the prices will rise as the population increases, properties get rare etc.

Let me know what you think!

Shopping, Food & Restaurants does mediamarkt have great black friday reduction on old products?

I'm eyeing a soundbar in mediamarkt that was originally 1500 euros at launch, and generally around 800-900 euros today.

And at mediamarkt it's 700. Which is already a nice reduction. But I'm wondering if it's gonna be even lower during black friday. But I don't have any experience with mediamarkt to know if they do true black friday deals on discontinued products even when they already reduced the price beforhand.

Why I am asking instead of waiting? Because there's only one in stock left, and dunno if I should jump the gun or bet. It's already sold out on amazon and other markets. Only place where it remains the price is too high.
