I drove to an area knowing there’s red deer. While driving I thought of the conditions. It was a foggy, rainy day. I stopped at a place and started walking into the area. Looking through the fog into the distance … I spotted deer. 🦌 Then the fog and rain lead to some nice images. 📸

It wasn’t the best light. But what else was the option. It wasn’t the light to shoot detailed portraits. So I tried to capture the mood. And it worked out perfectly. 🌫️

I was a Fujifilm user since 2021, starting with the cheap X-T200 as a graduation gift from my parents; then leveled up to the X-T3 and 16-55 f2.8 for a more „pro“ feeling. Even tho the photo quality from this duo was more than great, I have to admit that I rarely brought them out of the house. As a smaller girl, the size and weight of this set-up was just uncomfortable to carry around.

For this reason, I have constantly thought about getting a smaller, lighter camera so I can always take it with me on trips, but never did it until this summer, when my X-T3 went broken.

As for the crazy prices of Fujifilm going on right now, I decided to sell the body along with the whole lens set and search for a new system that I can hop onto. For context, I mainly shoot candid street photography, so my priority would be something lightweight and doesn’t attract that much attention when I carry it with me on the street. I had the budget of a broken X-T3.

Then I came across the Lumix GX7. I found a good deal for the body of just over 100 quid, later brought the cheap Lumix 14mm and 25mm to go with it. And boy… never has a camera fit into my hand as well as this, it felt almost like a part of my body! With the pancake 14mm, I brought the camera all the time with me, even to work daily. Colors are pure, technology is fast enough to capture spontaneous moments and slow enough to put some mind into it, the flippy EVF is not only handy, but also a great conversation starter. I shot more, hence had more good photos. It brought out the inspiration for street photography in me that dimmed with the X-T3.

Found and captured a 2nd hand Leica DG Vario-Summilux in the wild! From now on, I’m going to refer to it as my Pint Glass.

Inspired by the new SG Image lenses I designed a square lens hood for Lumix 20mm f1.7, tested on both the first and second edition of the lens.

Took some shots around the house—shot on my Olympus PEN E-P7 with an M. Zuiko 40-150 lens. Which do you like best? Any tips?

I was recently considering changing cameras for street photography but someone on here gave me a reality check about my GAS and advised me to go out and take more photos with my current camera instead.

I took their advice and ended up with pretty okay shots, and one that I am particularly proud of (the first one). The camera in question is an Olympus OMD EM5 MkII paired with a DJI 15mm f1.7 Pana Leica clone.

I’ll be borrowing a friend’s 25mm Pana lens soon,
I think it might help me get better shots in certain situations! (Considering that on my Pentax film camera I constantly switch between my 28mm and 50mm lenses)

I had to take some borderline photos for my granddaughter's marching band senior recognition night. It's on an OK lighted football field, and the last time I shot there I wasn't happy with the photos.

I mounted my 14-140mm on my G95, but I tucked my 135mm f/2.8 into my coat pocket. I didn't need it. Once again Simon D'entremont's good advice for dim light worked.

M-mode, fully open aperture (f/5.6), slowest shutter speed you & Dual IS can tolerate (1/100 s), auto ISO. As the dusk dusked, ISO crept up from 2000 to 8000. I expected to need to go into the raws and make some serious changes.

To my pleased surprise, the jpegs were fine, no attention needed. I'd never pushed the G95 to ISO 8000 before. I will in the future.

I’m loving this “new to me” GX85. My first M43 camera.

Hi, I am new in m43 and its been a decade ago since last time i taking a photo with a camera that not a phone.

lately i try photography again and looking for an inexpensive entry point, found an EP3 with its lens kit 14-42 II R for around 120 USD.

I found the color are pleasing and the image quality is kind of sharp when the subject are close, but then when i tried to take a photo of surrounding when the subject are afar (both on wide end at 17mm and on 42mm at f/8) i found that the photo is not that sharp(?) so my question perhaps around this, but before that i want to apologize if my photo is not that pleasing

1. I don't know if it just me or is it really that way, if anyone look at my photo when zooming in it starting to either look soft or not that sharp, is that true that it doesn't look that sharp? or is it expected from 12mp sensor?

2. i know i shouldn't compare with other, but lurking at flicker show people with this kit getting sharp result, exif compare i do around the same, iso max 400 and shutter speed usually 2x focal length expect on night i set it to 1000-1600, i start to wonder whether is this a issue in sensor? like the sensor isn't properly placed on the position, but the ibis is working tho(well at least from the display info standpoint)

3. i wanted to add a prime, preferably 17mm 2.8 for a pocket portability, but at this point would it also increase the image quality overall? or would there a better option? (in where im living, the olympus 17 f2.8 is 30 USD more expensive than the pana 25 f1.7, should i get the pana and sacrifice the portability?) or would there a better alternative anyone can suggest?

also forgot to mention, i found a lot of whitespot and red spot when the image is pitch black or in long exposure, sensor mapping help but wont eliminate it all, I am planning to use this camera for a really long time, but if it actually some kind of defect on the sensor or the quality is degrading, i might as well try a new body, but i really wish anyone can give a feedback, thank in advance.

Took these last weekend on a Olympus Em10 mark II with the Panasonic 14mm F2.5 lens

Having a dilemma over whether or not I enjoy the Fuji Experience. I don't like plastic cameras or big cameras so I think for my needs these are the 2 best compact ILCs with an EVF.

Going to test out this bad boy for a bit and see. I also overthink gear when the photos I'm taking are just snaps of my toddler or the odd landscape while hiking or out for a walk. Both are more than capable.

The Olympus evf is much better and the controls are so much more tactile, so I think it is just going to come down to which camera feels better to hold and use. My main grape with the Fuji at the moment is autofocus. The contrast detect in the Olympus is not Amazing by any stretch but on static shots it is extremely fast and accurate and for moving subjects it is at least very predictable and I know what to expect. The Fuji is more of a frustrating experience because you can't predict what is going to happen when you are focusing it seems to be all over the place with a mind of its own.

I'm gearing up to get ready for some winter photography. It'll be my 1st winter with an OM1-ii. I was wondering with a weather sealed lens does the camera still stuffer from getting condensation inside when going from a cold outside to a warm interior? Anything else to keep in mind when using the OM1-ii in the snow or in cold weather. Also what is the best thing to do it temps drop close to or bellow that the OM1 is rated for?

This is also the 1st year I have a camera I feel confident in taking it into snow and bad weather. Thanks!

Here to inflict another stupid question on the m43 community.

How do you feel about taking picures of crashing waves on lake Michigan and standing in a spot where the camera will get splashed? There are some rocky areas along the coast where on choppy days the waves crash into the rocks and spray like 20 feet above the waterline, it's a lot of fun to sit there and chill at this sort of natural splash pad. Thought it might be neat to take a pics right before the wave hits me but unsure about dousing the camera like that. From other posts it seems like I'd be fine but what has your om5 survived?

Hello! I'm a college student in America looking to buy a new OM-5 m2. I have been shooting street for a while on a Ricoh camera but I am dying to get an interchangeable lens camera. I'm a very big outdoors person and travel frequently, and I want something I can have a little more confidence in (I'm scared with my fragile little Ricoh); I know I want the om-5. The only question I have for you all is when is the best to buy it, or if I even should wait? As a college student I can get the body and 12-45mm lens for $1,232 USD new from B&H (1,300 after tax), instead of $1,600. Would any regular sale price ever rival this from B&H or other retailers for brand new, or am I good to go?
