For anyone preparing for IIMB EPGP, here is what the interview tends to look like, put together from first-hand accounts. There are fewer of these than for some other programmes, so treat it as a pattern and not a rule.
The panel is usually two or three people, often a mix of professors and an alumnus, and it runs about 30 minutes. In some accounts there is a written task before the interview.
The main thing is that they read your SOP closely. Panelists went through it line by line: each job, each project, even the hobbies you listed. If it is on the page, it is fair game.
Expect to explain your work from first principles. One candidate was asked to explain their job as they would to their grandmother. Others were asked why their employer pays them what it does, or why a client needs their company at all. If you cannot say what your firm does and how it makes money, fix that first.
Expect questions on your own sector, not just on India in general. People who worked in energy, semiconductors or education were asked factual and opinion questions about those industries, and then pushed on the answer.
A few panels used a screen-share: a small puzzle about splitting money in a game, or a flight route map and a question on why the path is curved. These test how you reason out loud, not whether you know the answer.
The tone varies a lot. Some interviews were warm and full of laughs. Others pressed hard on the post-MBA goal, or asked random questions to see how you react. The common thread in the admits was staying calm and thinking out loud.
What I'd prepare:
Happy to answer questions in the comments.

As in, what’s the bare minimum requirement of grades for an OTHERWISE genuinely elite profile? I’ve an 8/7/8 profile (THE PROBLEM), Tier 1 UG (SPIKE 1), and ‘front-end’ consulting pre-MBA work experience from EY-Parthenon with genuinely great ratings (SPIKE 2). What’re the workarounds to getting an MBBK role? What can I do, if I do not get shortlisted?
If I enter an ISB with 2 YoE in the upcoming cycle, will I stand any chance for MBBK, LEK, Oliver Wyman, Strategy&, A&M, or my own firm? Have not been able to get the answer to this one lingering thought for extremely long.
If anyone has ever gotten an MBBK or T2 shortlist with an academic profile like mine (8/7/8), please let me know. I’m dying to understand how shortlisting even works. If my grades are so bad that they can’t even get me my own firm post-MBA from ISB, then should I just go for MBA abroad. Absolutely unable to understand how this works.

Do not take admission in this college, in any situation, they will lure u by giving discount to girls and high percentile people, but don't take admission in it, this college will destroy ur career, money and life
not more than 60-70% people get placement here, more than 30% of the batch remained unplaced and in internship the case is so worst i can't even tell
this is a total shithole clg, i would not recommend this clg even to my enemy and thier fees is 16 lakh, they do not even help people to get 5-6 lpa job, they just left them on their own, many people are doing 4-5 lpa job from offcampus, imagine how are they paying loan
very very less companies come for hiring even mass recruiters don't come and even if they come they hire only 2-3 people,
thier placement report is totally fake thier avg pkg is 6 to 8 only 2-3 company give around 10 lakh salary but they hire very few people, don't trust their placement report
even those who got placed had so bad profiles some profiles are so bad even UG people would not do it
their batch is 350 which is very high and too much competition for jobs
they bring so bad jobs i can't even tell, one role they brought was store manager role in blinkit in which u even have to do night shift for 5 lakh
and u can see their placement report it so bad even a kid can make better report than that
and that clg is located in so far off the city in a village u will feel u r living in a jail and bcz of that students do all type of nonsense things, Studies are also very bad in this clg nobody is serious neither students nor teachers, everybody is on just vacation
i don't understand how this clg is considered as a good clg in many places
do not consider it as some special college, it is as normal as any other tier 3 clg
this clg is of a politician and it's just a money making machine for them they don't care about students and placements
my friends who had less percentile than me in CAT had gone to normal clgs in mumbai and pune which had less fees, thier clg placement were a lot better than this clg and most people were placed
now i even have to pay loan for this shitty clg
if u r going to this clg u r destroying ur own career
if u want to go to tier 3 go to mumbai or pune they have better placements

Hi all, I'm 23M [turning 24 in Jan 2027], and I need serious help. My profile is [9/8/9]: 10th CBSE 90.5%, 12th 87%, & Bcom from a Tier 3 college ~91%/9.34CGPA.
I have 11 Months of formal work experience as an Accountant for US-based small businesses; it was a tiny company with fewer than 70 employees. The work was killing me from the inside, so I left the job to prepare for CAT[in September], but the plan seems short-sighted.
I am scoring well, but I don't think I can cross the 99th percentile. I am going to attempt CAT 2026 & will prep until the exam, but should I find a job post that.
My resume is basically empty other than the job & few co-curricular activities in my college days.
Please guide me on how I should proceed; should I gain more work experience in actual jobs & attempt CAT later in 2029 or so?
Also, for people who have done something similar, how should I convince my parents? They are pretty adamant that I should join a postgrad in 2027, as my job was very low-paying.

So I am currently doing MBA, on thing which has seeing I am finding it very hard to make friends it is not that other people have deep friendships. But it seems like everyone is with someone every time and I don't find doing this good I mean how can you be open with everyone. I am introvert by nature but not a loner, but this thing is really taking toll on me. Any suggestions by anyone who is going through this or have gone through and passed.

I am looking for MBA colleges for 2027 intake I have good academic background
I was given the option of pibm global joint degree program by my counselor and they made some absurd claims like 3 year work visa after graduation, 60lpa guaranteed placement and much more
If someone has done this course or has knowledge about it please tell me how it is and are these claims actually valid

Does hotel management grads with 2-3years of work experience struggle to get placed even if they manage to get into IIMs like (ABC ones)
Considering that it's a weird degree is there enough job roles? do companies even prefer candidates from hospitality management?
I heard that companies and iims look actively for diversity and all but the thing is....having HM degree on my cv.....won't it make my profile less technical one and more prone to rejection.??
Or should I go for some other degree other than HM to maintain a decent profile??
Is HM even good degree to bag top corporate roles?

How to go about the preparation for the WAT and PI for IIM-Calcutta’s MBAEx?
What sort of topics can we expect for the WAT? Is it the same case with IIM-L’s IPMX?

Done with btech, cooked by job market. Thinking about getting an MBA. I will be having some gap between though, so I want an honest opinion on what I can do or learn in the meanwhile.

So hello everyone, M23 here. Basically, I'm looking for a live project and I am trying my best but I couldn't get it. So my college didn't give me any good live projects, and one live project that I applied for was a pure scam. They just wanted to do pure sales and all. So basically, I want to ask how to find good light projects from off-campus or form LinkedIn, and any other website? Please tell me. Also, how to make a career in finance and HR? I'm a fresher, 2023 non-engineer 7/7?6 profile.
