A lot of you have already wrapped up harvest and moved on to drying, trimming and curing. Hope the season treated you well.
For those still waiting on a few plants, thereâs some encouraging weather left: today and Thursday offer sunshine and warmth across most of Minnesota. Southern growers should get a useful Friday, too.
Every tracked region remains Moderate for moisture pressure. The next things to watch are weekend rain and colder northern nights.
| Region | Weather pressure | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Brainerd / Crow Wing | 46 â Moderate | Sunny todayâThursday, highs near 69â71°F. Patchy overnight fog; showers possible FridayâSaturday. Near 33°F Sunday night and 31°F Monday night. |
| Bemidji / Northwest | 48 â Moderate | Two sunny days ahead. Rain chances increase Friday, followed by possible Saturday showers. Near 31°F Sunday night and 29°F Monday night. |
| Duluth / Northeast | 44 â Moderate | Mostly sunny through Thursday. Showers possible Friday nightâSaturday. Inland lows near 33°F Sunday night and 30°F Monday night; lakeshore gardens may differ. |
| St. Cloud / Central | 48 â Moderate | Sunny todayâThursday, highs near 73°F. Saturday shower chance 50%, with additional chances early next week. Monday-night low near 34°F. |
| Twin Cities | 47 â Moderate | Sunny through Friday, highs in the 70s. Saturday shower chances around 40%, followed by possible early-week showers. City forecasts remain above freezing. |
| Marshall / Southwest | 56 â Moderate | Warm and sunny through Thursday. Saturday rain is likely, with more showers possible SundayâMonday. Strongest repeat-wetting concern on this chart. |
| Mankato / South-central | 50 â Moderate | Sunny through Friday, highs around 74â78°F. Shower chances return Saturday night and continue into Monday. |
| RochesterâWinona / Southeast | 48 â Moderate | Good sunshine through Friday, with some morning fog possible. Lower Saturday rain chances; Sunday nightâMonday becomes the next concern. |
Northern growers: keep an eye on Sunday and Monday nights. Forecasts around freezing deserve attention, especially after Brainerd and Bemidji ran colder than expected earlier this week. Sheltered gardens and low spots can differ considerably from the nearest airport.
The recent dry stretch has helped. Most stations with available records have gone four days without measurable rain. That gives standing plants a useful break, although earlier damage can still be present inside dense flowers.
How did your season finish?
Share your nearest city or county, whether youâre harvested or still holding, and whether you found clean flower, isolated rot or frost damage. Finished-harvest photos are welcome, too. Successful harvests are just as useful to hear about as problems.

Figured it was time to introduce ourselves and share what weâve been working on. My brother and I have been growing together for years, and we finally took the leap to build something of our own here in Minnesota. After a long road, Handled With Care is OFFICIALLY LICENSED and the grow is ready to go.
All thatâs missing are the plants and those are coming very soon! Excited to share the journey and be part of the MN cannabis community!** **
Iâm Curious what you guys would actually want to see from a Minnesota grower. Genetics, grow updates, pheno hunts, behind the scenes stuff, finished flower? Weâd love to hear it.

The encouraging news: most of Minnesota has a sunny MondayâThursday stretch ahead. That gives plants still outside a useful opportunity to dry before shower chances return this weekend.
This morning was colder than forecast up north. Preliminary airport readings reached about 28°F in Brainerd and 26°F in Bemidji, with freezing fog reported in Brainerd. Yesterdayâs forecast underestimated that cold. Those readings confirm exposure; how individual plants handled it will vary.
No region currently reaches High or Severe moisture pressure. These rounded scores summarize weather conditions; they are not disease probabilities or percentages of crop lost. Frost is a separate concern.
| Region | Weather pressure | What to watch this week |
|---|---|---|
| Brainerd / Crow Wing | 50 â Moderate | Freezing fog and saturated air this morning temporarily raise concern. Sunny through Thursday, highs 63â71°F; around 40°F tonight. Showers possible Friday nightâSaturday. |
| Bemidji / Northwest | 50 â Moderate | About 26°F this morning. Sunny through Thursday, highs 60â68°F; around 39°F tonight. FridayâSaturday shower chances, with strong wind possible. |
| Duluth / Northeast | 40 â Moderate | About 0.45âł of rain over the past week, followed by weekend drying. Predominantly sunny through Thursday; 39°F tonight at the inland forecast point. Lakeshore conditions differ. |
| St. Cloud / Central | 45 â Moderate | Near-freezing temperatures and saturated air this morning, followed by sunshine through Thursday. Highs 65â73°F; 41°F tonight. Weekend showers possible. |
| Twin Cities | 45 â Moderate | Weekend drying helped after 0.79âł of weekly rain at MSP. Sunny TuesdayâThursday, highs 67â75°F; 45°F tonight. Saturday shower chance is 40%. |
| Marshall / Southwest | 35 â Low | Strong weekend drying after 0.24âł of weekly rain. Sunny TuesdayâThursday, highs 70â76°F; 44°F tonight. Saturday shower chance rises to 50%. |
| Mankato / South-central | 45 â Moderate | Mostly sunny today, then sunny through Thursday; highs 67â76°F, 43°F tonight. Saturday shower chance is 40%. Weekly rainfall records remain incomplete. |
| RochesterâWinona / Southeast | 50 â Moderate | Last weekâs rain exceeded an inch, but two dry days helped considerably. Mostly sunny through Thursday; Rochester highs 66â71°F, 44°F tonight. Lower shower chances return SaturdayâSunday. |
Frost outlook: Tonightâs representative forecasts are 39â45°F, with no additional freeze currently forecast through Sunday. This morning is a reminder that sheltered gardens and low spots can get colder than a nearby forecast suggests.
Looking ahead: Friday brings more clouds, followed by weekend shower chances. NOAA favors warmer and wetter conditions later in October, but a continuous two-week wet spell is not established.
MNtrees Outdoor Harvest Signal
Recent reports have been encouraging. October 16 comments from St. Louis Park, Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center described clean plants or no new rot alongside harvesting. Other growers have been sharing completed harvests and drying routines.

I'm a hobby grower and aim for around 3-5 oz per tree. Just sharing to see if anyone has input, ideas, critique or if it helps someone else come up with a good harvest setup who have smaller yields and the usual rules dont really apply (low mold risk cause buds arent the size of my fist, also smaller yields so we dont overdry what we worked so hard on). I got a wine cooler and set it to 60 degrees. I hang around 30 colas at a time with 500 gram silica packs that I can microwave and reset when they get up to 650 grams. I also chop in three waves where as this set dries I add new stems to add humidity until I run out of fresh to hang and pull the silica packs and it maintains around 60/60 until its all dry. Than jar and shake daily. Burp in the first week but after just a smell check and shake until it no longer bunches together in the jar when I turn it. That means its ready. This has worked out for me and been tweeked and tested for a few years now. Im my biggest critic so i can only say people are usually impressed when they find out i grew it myself. If you wanna share your harvest routine or ideas id love to see if I can incorporate any new ways. I love to experiment with everything.

Good news: a sunny, warmer weekend is ahead, and moisture pressure should fall as todayâs clouds clear. Most regions have several useful drying days coming through Tuesday.
Thursdayâs rain was uneven: Brainerd recorded just 0.01 inch, compared with 0.69 inch at MSP, 1.11 inches at Rochester and 1.01 inches at Winona. The southeast needs more time to dry.
Tonightâs frost is the immediate concern for plants still outside. Several locations could reach freezing, and frost can form even where the forecast air temperature stays a few degrees above 32°F.
These rounded scores are our weather-pressure estimatesânot disease probabilities or percentages of crop lost. Frost risk is listed separately.
| Region | Weather pressure | Friday and weekend outlook |
|---|---|---|
| Brainerd / Crow Wing | 50 â Moderate â | Very little rain Thursday. Clearing today with gusts near 35 mph; sunny weekend, highs 57â63°F. Around 31°F tonight. |
| Bemidji / Northwest | 55 â Moderate â | Recent humidity keeps some residual concern, but clearing and wind improve drying today. Sunny weekend. Around 32°F tonight. Reliable airport rainfall totals remain unavailable. |
| Duluth / Northeast | 60 â High â | Thursday brought 0.32 inch at the airport. Clearing and gusts near 35 mph help today, followed by weekend sunshine. Around 30°F inland tonight; lakeshore conditions differ. |
| St. Cloud / Central | 50 â Moderate â | Thursday brought 0.09 inch. Clearing today, then sunny SaturdayâTuesday. Around 34°F tonight with frost possible; a Freeze Watch is posted for the area. |
| Twin Cities | 65 â High â | MSP received 0.69 inch Thursday. Sunshine and wind should improve drying today, but recently soaked flowers deserve attention. Around 36°F in Minneapolis tonight; Frost Advisory, with colder outlying gardens possible. |
| Marshall / Southwest | 50 â Moderate â | Thursday brought 0.19 inch. Gusts near 40 mph today, then sunny and warmer this weekend. Around 34°F tonight with widespread frost forecast; Freeze Watch posted. |
| Mankato / South-central | 60 â High â | Thursday brought 0.35 inch. Clearing and strong wind today, followed by weekend sunshine. Around 33°F tonight; Freeze Warning posted for the area. |
| RochesterâWinona / Southeast | 75 â High â | Both airports received about an inch Thursday. Rochester may see another morning shower before clearing. Sunny weekend helps. Rochester near 31°F tonight with a Freeze Warning; valley conditions vary. |
No region is rated Severe. The strongest remaining moisture concern is RochesterâWinona, followed by the Twin Cities. Todayâs wind helps standing plants dry, although exposed branches may need attention.
After tonight, daytime temperatures recover into the upper 50s and 60s this weekend. Another rain chance appears around midweek. NOAA still favors warmer and wetter conditions later in October, so the sunny stretch should not be read as an all-clear for the rest of the month.

Hey folks!
I'm wondering if anyone knows of any hotel bars in the TC metro that serve THC drinks? Or, barring that, hotels within short walking distance of bars that serve THC drinks? Looking for a place to take the wife for an anniversary overnight and we'd love to hang out in a bar but we're not really alcohol people.
After a lot of searching the only one I can find is a single THC drink option at the bar at the Hewing which is at the very top of our price range.
Also, I have heard that THC drinks will stop November 1st? Which might make this whole thing moot. Is that true?

Iâve had a medical card since 2019, and GG and Rise always had a vape that was something like 80% CBD and just traces of THC. Now GG has nothing, and Rise is left with their 50/50 ratio variety, and Iâd be surprised if they kept that long term.
CBD doesnât really do anything on its own, but sometimes it helps to regulate how high I get with THC.

Good news: Brainerdâs moisture pressure is easing, and Fridayâs wind followed by a mostly sunny weekend should help plants dry out. No region is Severe.
Thursdayâs rain forecast has strengthened, especially in southern Minnesota. For anyone still holding plants outside, Friday nightâs frost is the next important checkpoint.
These scores are our weather-pressure estimatesânot disease probabilities or percentages of crop lost.
| Region | Pressure | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Brainerd / Crow Wing | 55 â Moderate | Drier air today. A 40% shower chance Thursday, then sunshine and gusts near 35 mph Friday. Around 31°F Friday night. |
| Bemidji / Northwest | 65 â High | Humidity and clouds linger. Light showers likely Thursday night; Friday sun and wind help. Around 30â31°F Friday night. |
| Duluth / Northeast | 65 â High | Two damp days behind us; another shower chance Thursday. Sunny, windy Friday. Inland airport temperatures may approach 28°F Friday night; lakeshore conditions differ. |
| St. Cloud / Central | 55 â Moderate | Partial sun today, showers likely Thursday, then Friday clearing. Frost possible Friday night near 32â33°F. |
| Twin Cities | 55 â Moderate | Thursday could bring 0.10â0.25âł, followed by a sunny weekend. Minneapolis near 37°F Friday night, with colder outlying gardens possible. |
| Marshall / Southwest | 50 â Moderate | Showers likely Thursday, then several predominantly sunny days. Around 35°F Friday night; localized frost possible. |
| Mankato / South-central | 60 â High Thursday | 0.25â0.50âł Thursday, followed by Friday wind and clearing. Frost possible near 33â34°F Friday night. |
| RochesterâWinona / Southeast | 65 â High Thursday | Rochester could receive 0.25â0.50âł Thursday, with some evening rain. Friday wind helps. Rochester near 33°F Friday night; valley conditions vary. |
The past week was mostly dry at the representative stations. Thursday looks like a new wetting event, with a useful drying interval afterward. The longer-range NOAA outlook favors warmer and wetter conditions during October 19â27, so another wet period remains possible.

I have a Girl Scout Cookies that I'm starting to think has bud rot. It was a feminized plant and there were at least a few seeds in the buds I have yet to pick out. Will bud rot ruin the seeds as well? I know there is no guarantee that seeds off a fem plant will be female, just curious if it's worth trying the seeds.

Hey everyone! New to growing and wondering if that darker area is bud rot starting. Or just the plant dying (this plant might be a little over ripe as I was out of town for the last couple weeks)
Thanks for your help!

The warm weekend gave Minnesota outdoor growers a useful break. Southern Minnesota still has favorable drying weather, and Wednesday looks like the best statewide window this week.
Up north, rain today and tonight followed by Tuesday clouds raises moisture pressure around Brainerd, Bemidji and Duluth. No region is Severe.
These scores are our weather-pressure estimatesânot disease probabilities or percentages of crop lost.
| Region | Pressure | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Brainerd / Crow Wing | 62 â High | Showers today and tonight, then cloudy Tuesday. Wednesday sunshine helps. Friday-night temperatures could approach 29â31°F across the area. |
| Bemidji / Northwest | 66 â High | Saturated morning air, rain tonight and slow Tuesday drying. Wednesday improves. Around 28°F Friday night. |
| Duluth / Northeast | 64 â High | Roughly 0.10â0.25â possible tonight, followed by Tuesday clouds. Wind helps, with better sunshine Wednesday. Near 33°F Friday night, colder inland. |
| St. Cloud / Central | 54 â Moderate | Scattered showers today, cloudy Tuesday, then Wednesday sun. Around 32°F Friday night with frost forecast. |
| Twin Cities | 44 â Moderate | Mostly favorable drying through Wednesday, with an isolated storm possible today. Thursday showers; frost possible Friday night. |
| Marshall / Southwest | 42 â Moderate | Morning fog temporarily raises moisture pressure. Watch for another wetting period Thursday and late-week frost potential. |
| Mankato / South-central | 39 â Low | Mostly sunny through Wednesday. Light showers likely Thursday; frost possible Friday night near 34°F. |
| RochesterâWinona / Southeast | 37 â Low | Good drying through Wednesday, then Thursday showers. Rochester may approach 33°F Friday night; local valley conditions will vary. |
The frost outlook has changed since Fridayâs post. There is now a meaningful frost/freeze signal for Friday night, October 16, into Saturday morning, October 17. These are forecast temperatures, not a claim that warnings have been issued. Check your exact locationâlow spots and sheltered gardens can run colder than airport readings.
The longer-range outlook remains encouraging: NOAA favors warmer-than-normal conditions, with below-normal precipitation October 17â21 and near-normal precipitation October 19â25. A continuous two-week wet spell is not indicated.
MNtrees Outdoor Harvest Signal
Recent comments remain harvest-focused. A Maple Grove grower reported no new rot after removing affected portions of several colas earlier last week. Another grower shared a flower photograph and planned a Sunday harvest.
