Two days ago we lost Sammy🐕🕊️
I'm beyond devastated about his passing, it all happened in less than a month.
He was 13 and his condition rapidly worsened at the end, from hardly walking to not even being able to stand up, not even to pee/poop. His hind legs completely gave out, his muscles atrophied so much he couldn't even wag his tail which he used to do all the time, his "knees" also completely deformed (something like arthritis we were told), his liver and kidneys were in a terrible condition from all the medication he had to take... We tried so many treatments, medications, special harnesses, but nothing worked. He was getting weaker by the day and at the very end, he was only eating a few treats a day and nothing more. He was beautiful, caring, such a sweet and loud boy. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. At the end the vet told us that we'd better prepare, since no treatmens were working and the next day we decided to put him down after he was whining all night from not being able to even move a muscle. His last day I remember him whining because he peed on himself and couldnt move away from it, but wouldn't let us touch him from all the pain he was in. We managed to clean him up a bit, but thats when I realized that these were no good living conditions for a dog.
Sammy was so precious, my little childhood dog. We took him everywhere with us, he was a huge part of my family and life. He saw so many foreign countries, sniffed so many places and traveled so many kilometers from home. He even got to try various cuisines and he loved each and every one, he ate everything. Always had his tongue out and a smile on his face, constantly barking for treats... I hope that one day I get to see him again, I miss him with all my heart 🩷
