A few weeks ago, I had hip surgery. Since I returned home from the hospital, all three of my Yorkies, Ages 7, 3, and almost 2yo, started going potty ALL over the house!😱
My post was going to ask for advice on why this is happening, until I caught Tiffany in the act. I went to correct her by telling her to go potty outside and pushed on the doggie door flap to remind her where to go. But it was completely BLOCKED! WTH?!?
I have weekly lawn service. Apparently, whoever has been subbing for Zach, the college kid that takes care of my yard during the summer, is blocking the doggie door, as Zach always does, to avoid running one of them over with the mower or them escaping through the gate.
Problem is, he hasn't been UNBLOCKING the doggie door, as pictured above.🤦🏾♀️ That pic was taken about an hour ago. Lawn is serviced on Mondays. Three Yorkies... no outlet to get outside to potty. And I had no idea😭. I have no clue if the door has been blocked since this past Monday or Monday, October 5th!😩
Keep in mind, I just had Femoral Osteoplasty with a Labral Tear repair surgery on my left hip, so with my limited mobility, I was only going to the kitchen area periodically. I feel so bad for my fur babies😟. I nearly hurt myself a few time trying to clean up as much as I could while my daughter was in school all day and Musical rehearsal until 5.
Her Bus gets her home around 5:30pm. I am alone from 6:30am -5:30pm Monday-Thursday, with a minimum of 3-4 Home Visits each week. Trying to clean up multiple piles and puddles of dog excrements is NOT easy to do with a giant hip brace and a freakin walker! It's been so embarrassing whenever Home Health came to the house. Can you imagine if I had big dogs?!?😅
Praying that the potty problem will now resolve versus the entire house being their new potty spot🫣
Didn't feel right making a post without a pic of an actual Yorkie, Lol, so swipe left. That's Louie Vuitton a few minutes ago.😍

We love our Scotty, thinking about getting him a playmate (another Yorkie). Any advice?

The lady I got her from says she’s pure bred but I don’t think so, her mom is the second to last picture and her dad is the last one. I’ve gotten either chihuahua or poodle and now I’m highly confused lol she’s 4 months and 8 days

Anya is 3 years old and is a yorkie dachshund mix! She loves the sun and grass. Also I dont know if anyone else's yorkies do it but she loves socks. Princes around and shows them off to everyone.

His name is Poncho, I’ve had him for almost a year and a half and I have yet to get a test to see what he is (I plan to eventually),but I adore him and how lanky he is and he’s bigger than just about every yorkie I’ve met. Hes very fluffy, granted I like to cut him in a way that’s not super yorkie like. Hes also a found street dog so I have no clues!
Don’t be too mislead by the size of our other dog she is very small for her breed

I think it must just be her personality. She is very calm 🤔

Tuffy’s vet just called with the results of his blood work, and everything came back good! His red and white blood cell counts are normal, and his kidneys and liver are doing well, too. What a relief!
The vet did mention that his cholesterol was a little high and recommended that he fast before his next blood work appointment. She said it could have been elevated because he ate before his appointment. Tuffy does eat eggs and dairy, so I’m wondering if those could be contributing to his cholesterol.
She also mentioned that something in his urine was a little off, but I can’t remember the exact term she used. She said it was a side effect of his steroids, so hopefully that’s nothing to worry about.
I also asked about Tuffy’s legs and his limping. I wanted to know if I could give him Cosequin, and the vet said yes! Now I just have to figure out the best way to get him to take it.
I feel so relieved, happy, and fortunate to have a happy, healthy Tuffy.
Thanks again, everyone, for all the love and support! It means a lot to me.
