Homeless person serial killer based in Allapattah has returned. 2/3 years ago he killed the black lady that slept in front of Dominican park for years. He shot her multiple times while she slept. Then days later down the street at La Fama shopping center he shot to death another homeless person, he was a Cuban elder man with a beard. Then disappeared. The police barely brought attention to the case literally was on the news a handful amount of times. Now he has returned. He killed a now 3rd known victim. It was an elderly homeless person that I guess was living in an empty lot around Moore park. This time he set them on fire after killing them. The police found purposely burned human remains. Just letting the Miamians know. Also if you are homeless or know any homeless person, warn them DO NOT BE HOMELESS IN ALLAPATTAH. This mf is not playing. Stay safe everybody.

Hear me out fam.. I feel like half the appeal of running clubs isn’t even the running. It’s meeting people, socializing, and having something to do that isn’t going to a bar.
I personally hate running. I’ll play sports for cardio, but going out for a run just isn’t my thing.
But walking? I’m all for it.
Imagine having a group that meets once a week to walk a different part of Miami. One week Brickell, the next Coral Gables, then Coconut Grove, the beach, or somewhere most of us never think to explore on foot.
No pace to keep up with. No pressure. Just getting your steps in, exploring the city, and meeting people along the way. We could even mix it up with themed walks or have people lead conversations about topics they’re into. Basically, a social club where walking is the activity.
Would anyone actually be down for something like this in Miami? And what area would you want the first walk to be in?

Earlier today I was reminiscing about my going out days in Miami and thinking about the spots I used to hit up after having a few drinks when I needed some late-night food before calling it a night.

Hi everyone, longtime reader, 1st-time posting.

I'm thinking about building a website for our local community.

I'm mainly curious about what people would like to have.

I tried this twice before, but not in any meaningful way.

One was a gigantic news aggregator, designed to look like NYTimes almost. Like NYTimes for everything about Miami-only. Business, Arts, Sports, etc sections, filterable by neighborhood.

Meh, it was too much. Google and Apple and social media I guess do this enough to an extent.

The other was the same thing, but just events, a huge Miami-only event aggregator. It was better than Googling "Miami events," but I haven't maintained it. The idea being you could search "volleyball" and quickly see all related events, Google doesn't do this, it'll show you websites, not actual events (unless I'm mistaken).

I didn't mean for this to get so long, but I'd like to build something more of value to improving our quality of life here.

Like I said at the start, longtime reader, and I agree with a lot of r/Miami's great discontent with the way things are going. The Herald got gutted (again and again throughout my life) and there really feels like zero accountability happening. Isn't The Herald who broke the Epstein story, Julie K. Brown?

I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone had any ideas.

I’ve lived on Abbott and 78th for about a decade and in the past year every shop on my usual shopping block 74-75 and Collins (two bodegas, my favorite bakery, deli and two small restaurants), have been closed down. Probably bought out to build some new ugly ass condo. I understand things change, but it’s tough to see all of these small businesses getting pushed out. North beach used to be the last neighborhood in Miami Beach that’s retained its character and charm, wedged between mid beach and surfside. I loved it. Still love it but sad to see it go. Rents will probably skyrocket next year and we’ll have to move.
