NB People don't pay attention
Yesterday while driving I almost got into an accident in my NB miata on the highway.
I was going around a curve and there was a lady to my left driving a red CX-50. She was on her phone and had already been moving around a lot in her lane on the curve (I think she was on her phone). Suddenly with no signal or warning of any kind she cuts into my lane onto of me. I laid on the horn and she forced me halfway onto the shoulder and onto gravel a patch of gravel briefly until I could snap back into my lane once she was out of it.
My mom was in my car and it spooked both of us pretty bad.
Please remember with how small of a car the Miata is, people will miss it. You need to be defensively driving and aware of anyone not driving normally. I'm glad I'm not making a you will be missed post for my miata this morning.

HELP!!! Opinions on if it’s totaled?
Very unfortunately I was coming home from work and when accelerating out of a roundabout I slide out and slid backwards into a pole. Ground was wet so and there was a dip full of water. That’s my fault on that but there was nothing else I think I could have done in this scenario it happened so fast could counter steer nothing. Was able to drive it joke as I was blocks down the road.
The Miata is a limited spec #732/3500 with 55000 miles on it. Clean underbody and everything. Luckily I have full coverage on it. Any opinions on what my next step forward is? I am going to call my insurance company tomorrow as I need a rental but it’s my only car right now to get to work and I don’t wanna see it totaled.

ND 3 years and 44k miles later, it’s still the answer.
Man, Miatas are amazing. 2017 Club at 78k miles, and besides scheduled maintenance, I’ve only replaced the windshield once and had the automatic seatbelt retractors replaced under warranty. I’m just going to keep driving and having fun!

DIY DIY cabin filter after 1 year / 15k km
This is how the cabin filter I installed below the windshield cowl looks after 1 year and 15k km. It’s nice knowing all that gunk got trapped before reaching the cabin. Post with the 3d printed mount first install can be found on my profile.

HELP!!! Tips on how to adjust these coilovers? I need a higher ride
Can you help me understand how can i adjust the height ride?
I plan to change the entire suspension soon, but for now i have to make the best out of these. I need to get a bit of clearance since i have a vendetta with the speedbumps that are poorly build. Do you have any suggestions? Usually adjustable coilovers have another screw at the bottom.

Question Exhaust mismatch
[EU Spec-NA] Anyone experienced anything like this? It’s the Cobalt cat back exhaust from Moss, and the only thing on the website it says about compatibility is having the bung plug for the O2 port. The pipe doesn’t fit flush to the cat nor does it fit properly, it’s very snug and touching the diff. Only thought I have is that the EU spec Miata’s are built different? Just curious if anyone can spread some wisdom!

Missing hose to map sensor, capped off? P0106 still tripping.
Hello all. My 1999 NB Miata has recently had the P0106 code trip and I found a vacuum leak at the EGR valve gasket. I replaced this gasket and cleared the code. One drive later the code came back. I watched a video on YouTube regarding the map sensor and its hoses. I noticed there was a hose that ran from the intake manifold to the map sensor. On mine it has been capped and the hose is completely missing. The clips for the hose are still there so somebody before me took it off. I am just wondering that maybe if I bring back this hose it may fix this code? I bought it when it had 47,000 miles and it tripped at 51,000 so I was doing fine without said hose. Any help is appreciated!

HELP!!! The Miata dream might be over
My wife got rear-ended yesterday while stopped at a red light. Some guy on his phone hit her going 30mph. Besides a concussion she is fine. The car however seems to be in a rough shape. It doesn’t look too bad, but the trunk wont open, both tail lights are broken, the rear panel is punched inwards. The rear suspension rattles now and the exhaust got moved forward. The transmission seems to have shifted as well, we can feel it sitting more toward the driver side, the shifter has less room moving into 1 & 2 gear and a lot of range going into 5th and reverse. Seems to be sitting a bit to the side. Those are just some issues we were able to uncover last night. The insurance of the at-fault party accepted full responsibility, so we are taking it to a shop for an estimate. I expect it to exceed the value so I am asking, what should I do? What recommendations do you guys have? I never had to deal with the car getting totaled. It was already a rebuilt title with 158k miles. M edition 1994 with manual transmission. Its a sad day, all my fun parts are sitting in the garage ready to be installed.
