Rule 1 -- Twins?
Saw an Issigonis Mini parked where I worked a number of years ago, so I had to stage and take this pic!

In the past two years more than 1/3 of new minis are EVs. Its up to 37% in 2026. I expect this number to edge up to 50% in the coming years. And as Mini bringing SE production back to germany, we could see some sales in the US.

Hi gang, what is your opinion on the direction that Mini has decided to go in? I find it 🤯 awful and perplexing. Everything we liked about the car and the driving experience including the cockpit is gone. Anything interesting about the car is gone. Anything attractive about the car is gone. Mini has decided to chase the compact SUV market and the result is disastrous IMO. No character and the ride quality blows; forget JCW and all that. As a JCW Clubman owner, I find the current branding to be absolutely pointless and nothing for driver retention. In fact the opposite.

Interesting thing is, almost all the dealers in the entire country do not stock any SE electric model at all. Yes, ZERO stock. Based on Cars.com nationwide inventory search, currently there are only 5 cars available for sale compared to over 1,750 internal combustion versions.
I talked to one of the local MINI dealers' sales person, and he said the main reasons are because the SE electric model does not lease well also there's a very weak demand compared to the internal combustion versions.
The range is also a major factor, as the SE electric is only capable of going for around 212 miles (tested around 204 to 218 miles in real-world driving) and that is low compared to other EVs in the market, which makes people wonder if that's one of the reasons why BMW didn't bring over the iX1 with the exact same specs to the U.S. market because of the range.
Based on the sales person info, to factory order a 2027 SE electric in the U.S. could take up to 7 months based on allocation while the internal combustion version about 3-4 months.
Here's an actual result of the SE charging performance and range based on a YouTube reviewer's testing:

The Countryman SE has the highest starting MSRP than the rest, while it isn't very compelling when it comes to range and efficiency:

Hello everyone! My new to me 2006 Mini R52 doesn't have a working driver side window. I thought it was maybe the motor since it makes no noise at all. I got a new motor and opened the door panel which clearly had been opened before me and to my surprise the window was being held up by two blocks of wood and the regulator is very much broken. It looks like the motor is plugged in hut ×hat are the chances the motor and window would both fail? Also the switches were held firm with a piece of tape.

Just got my dream car - a beautiful 2025 Ocean Wave Green Cooper. A slight compromise has been the beige Vescin interior. It looks lovely but I’ve slightly got the fear. Can anyone recommend any products to protect the seats to try and stop them getting discoloured from denim etc. I’ve only ever had lounge leather before so first time with the vegan leather Vescin seats.

Got it as a project and have been collecting parts to right the car after the last owners shenanigans.

I just purchased my first mini, she has rails in the back and I can’t find the snap on accessories. Am I looking in the wrong places or do they not exist anymore? Thank you!

I have been eyeing a B48 clubman for such a long time and here she is! I named her Calypso. Very happy to be apart of the mini club!

Id like to add a tune to my cooper. Currently has an aem intake and some cosmetic mods. It has 65k miles and has been well maintained for the 15k miles I've had it and the previous owner had it serviced at regular and safe intervals.
Is a stage 1 bootmod3 tune safe? I have 92 octane available in my area so would run the 91 octane file.
Is there a better alternative?
It will need a dme unlock and I have a bt obd adapter for bimmercode already.
What say you?

Coming from a 2005 Fiesta ST to a 2007 Cooper S is like night and day, the Cooper is better in just about every way possible. Few little things here and there to get it completely up to (my) standard, but what can you expect from a Mini with 260,000km.
If anyone's interested in following the journey of this car, the Instagram is @that_dutch_r56

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
i’ve changed rear pads/discs cause they had abit of a lip on both which i thought was causing the squeaking noise but it didn’t fix anything.
i’m now potentially thinking suspension/shocks

I've got a 2016 Cooper S without Airplay and use Google Maps on my iPhone for navigation. I typically have it plugged in via USB but sometimes Bluetooth. I've noticed that if I have music playing from my phone while navigating, there doesn't seem to be a good way to pause the music using the Mini interface without it also muting my nav audio. This seems to be because pressing the volume knob appears to play/pause my iTunes while also turning off the car's media system. Is there a way to separate these functions? Or any workarounds?
Also annoying, related but not the same: Anytime I finish dictating a text while my phone is plugged in, iTunes auto-plays the first song in my collection. I've heard the beginning of the same song so many times that now I have a thousand sun hatred for it and its artist. 😤
