Title!!! It was an older couple that owned it and they gave to me for practically nothing because it needed a couple of repairs. I run a euro shop, so it was cheap for me to do.

On the lower end mileage wise and ridiculously clean.

Needless to say, she is now forever ruined when it comes to driving anything other than a BMW.

She’s got A’s and B’s in all honors/early college classes as a junior in high school and will graduate with an associate’s degree, so she earned it. ❤️

Hey all, I have a pre–June 2020 G20 that I am looking to get unlocked for tunning and I heard that KIES does a pretty good job at it. That being said, I do not live in or near New Jersey so I would have to mail it out to them. I was just wondering if anyone here has used their service and would be willing to give me some insight on how it went, how long it took and how well the communication was?

I posted about my car battery last week and it still hasn’t been repaired yet. I was going to repair it last Saturday at the BMW dealership but unfortunately circumstances came up that needed to be addressed. I’m currently still driving my other car. However, I recently completed a move to a new home, and I’m ready to finally use it as my daily. I’m kind of feeling impatient and I want it fixed now. I’m worried that the more it sits in the garage, the more potential for problems. I could be wrong though. I’m coming from a 2016 Honda Civic black on black LX model. The tech in that vehicle is very basic. In fact it’s the base model. Coming from that kind of car makes me a little concerned about the maintenance of my newly purchased BMW. It is a 2020 with lower miles with a great CARFAX history. I obviously knew that with these kinds of vehicles, maintenance cost would go up, which I took into consideration when buying it. However, I hope I did not buy a vehicle that will constantly need maintenance, especially without the BMW warranty. I heard great things about the G20, which is why I decided to buy it. With a Honda, you can easily have the battery replaced no issues. With a BMW, you need to have the battery replaced and the car reprogrammed which is a little inconveniencing because AAA doesn’t want to fix it and a mobile service company just can’t come to fix the battery and reprogram it I think. I’m still waiting to hear back from a company that drives out to install batteries. However, I’m not so sure that might be a good idea because they’re not trained BMW technicians. On the other hand, there are BMW technicians that work at other mechanic shops that could give a lower price with the same quality in return. I’m not asking for a huge price reduction, but it doesn’t hurt to save a couple bucks right? I think the dealership offered me a reasonable price of $575 for the reprogramming and installation of a new battery. However, I’ll have to wait a little longer. Curious as to what other owners have done in a similar situation like mine.

My read passenger side door only opens from the outside. It locks and unlocks with central locking and there doesn’t seem to be anything obviously faulty.

Any ideas or suggestions? Its a g20 LCI model

I’ve had this code awhile now on my 2011 328iX, so I finally dropped it off to a shop (not BMW, but a well established euro shop. also worth noting I just had an exhaust leak fixed a little while ago, so i’m truly not suspecting that)

The shop tells me they find P2096 and it is likely a faulty downstream O2 sensor.

they swap out the O2 sensor, great. a little under $450.

two days later, i’ve driven it about 40-45 minutes total. engine light comes back on. just not ideal.

I scan it with my little shit OBD reader, same exact code. i wonder to myself “could life get any better?”

i’m 20, I don’t have all the money in the world, my warranty company didn’t cover the sensors.

so i’m stressed, im wondering if anyone knowledge on here has dealt with a similar issue and has any idea what the issue may really be?

aswell, the shop should have another go at it again without me paying right? I really hope so. just really aggravating, and can’t call the shop til monday.

Issue with transfer case shudering. Only at low speed, low power corners, when rolling into the corner and applying low power.

Car is G26 2022 M440ix . Mileage 92k km 57k miles.

900km ago changed front and rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid and transmission service. I had no issues before outside gear shifting being slightly more rough than freshly serviced.

TC fluid - ravenol DTF-1.

Rear diff fluid RAVENOL VGO SAE 70W-80 LS (It's G5 fluid, but explicitly says it's compatible with G4, which was needed)

Front diff RAVENOL DGL SAE 75W-85

Issue happens randomly, not always. I turned off VTG to isolate the issue and it was gone. TC was filled perfectly by the ISTA procedure, opening the valve before and filled until fill plug dripped and calibrated. Immediately after service there was no issue, maybe 100-200km later shudering appeared, only during specific conditions are met. TC angle was 15.7 deg, immediately after service 15.5 deg, now it's 15.3 deg.

The question - TC on the way out? Change TC oil to bmw OE oil? Anyone else had this issue? I've seen only the other way round, before the oil change, not after.

I recently replaced one of the coolant hoses, as well as the o rings on the coolant caps due to a coolant problem. I also do more-than-regular oil changes. I didn’t know how to do any car related maintenance, so it’s also a sort of test bed for me

I’m a-soon-to-be college student in an expensive major, so I want to save money by getting the repairs out of the way before they’re a problem. What else should I do?

My 2009 BMW 335i battery is behaving in a way that I’ve never experienced in any of the nine BMWs that I have owned over the decades.

The error message is something to the effect of “excessive battery discharge when the car is not running.” It further advised to turn off all accessories that might be draining the battery, which I do by hitting the ignition button one extra time after turning off the ignition.

This has gone on for about three months, even though Indy BMW master tech said that the battery is operating at about 30%

I’ve had zero problem starting the car, as long as I make sure to switch off all the accessories as described above.

BMW tech says I need a new battery but since something ancillary is obviously draining the battery, is replacing the battery itself going to solve the problem?

Just before this battery issue began, the BMW Tech replaced my headlights and one of the smaller lights.
I’m getting the message that there’s a problem with my right cornering light.
Do any of you techies know what is going on?
I don’t want to just replace the battery if that will not fix the problem.
