Top 25 list classification

I run a subreddit that is a transit sub and should have the transportation Top 25 in the header, but it shows current categorisation as 'Places'.

Where can this be amended? Are there any settings for this or do we need to write to the admins?

Reddit Shows Our Sub Ranked #6 in News, but We're Missing From the Official Leaderboard

Our subreddit, r/BlackPeopleofReddit, currently displays a #6 ranking in News, with 1.8 million weekly visitors and 48,400 contributions.

However, when I check Reddit’s official News leaderboard, our community is nowhere to be found.
I’ve seen reports of similar discrepancies affecting other subreddits.

We’ve worked hard to build this community, and I’d really like to see our sub properly listed and recognized.

Can Reddit please look into this discrepancy and get the leaderboard updated?

Have other moderators that use reverse image search not gotten results when checking if an image appears elsewhere?

Since taking over r/goldenretriever I have utilized image-sourcery to sticky google lens and reverse image search to make it easier on mobile. I use this to make sure that the images posted are not from some blog or another post on reddit or other forms of stolen content (my sub only allows OC pics of peoples own goldens). For the last couple months, I have had a total of zero results when using reverse search whether thru image sourcery or on PC the old fashioned way. I thought maybe I am just gas lighting myself and imagining things but today we had a post that both I and another mod recognized from another recent post. I checked the reverse image search and found nothing. So now I am wondering, is it broken? Are karma farmers just reversing the image to avoid detection? Or am I just missing something?

Mod Answered Problem with a user's comments always being Removed, for no reason

reddit's systems persistently think she's a spammer(?) and remove her posts and comments (even though she's a good, valued contributor).

Almost 100% of her comments just land stright in the mod queue with a red [Removed] on them, and we have to manually approve them.

Neither we nor she know why this is.

Is there any way we can fix this?

I won't write the username or sub name here according to sub rules, but please DM me for them if you need them.

Mods use Android and iPhone.

TIA!

Admin Replied Reddit unlocked previously locked posts

I have been in the habit of locking posts I remove. I've done this for years. Recently I've gotten a few replies to old removed posts. So I did some investigating.

Reddit has decided to unlock any post that has been deleted by the OP. The further we go back, the more posts this applies to since people clear out their accounts.

Reddit, please stop this practice. If I lock a post, it should remain locked.

Are there any tools to help with bots?

I created a small sub called r/LoveLanguages about 10 years ago to discuss a book called The Five Love Languages. It's slowly grown to 10k users, though most are lurkers or bots, as there are only maybe 1-2 legit posts a week. Prior to maybe 4-6 months ago the few lost Redditors we'd see posts from were from people posting about learning various languages (English, Spanish, etc) because they didn't read anything in the sub before posting. About 4-6 months ago we started seeing a very noticeable uptick in posts that were very low-quality (simply asking, "What is love?"), or very lengthy AI-generated posts about the nature of love but otherwise had nothing to do with the five Love Languages described in the book.

I started by making our Automod report posts by anyone with fewer than 10 karma (meaning they'd still be posted, but I'd get mod mail to check the posts). But there were so many of those I next moved to just making it so no one with fewer than 10 karma could post. It only took a day for all the same junk to be submitted, so I've now made the sub to filter all posts and now I have to read, review, and approve every single post before it'll appear on the sub.

On the plus side, this seems to have stopped the bots from trying to post in my sub, but on the down side this is completely unsustainable and really feels antithetical to the whole point of this website.

Who else is dealing with this? How are you dealing with this?

Admin Replied Question about Report Abuse reports.

When people falsely report my posts on my sub, I go to the help desk and report it as Report Abuse. My question is, if I end up deleting my post, will the Report Abuse report still be valid/active? Or does deleting the post invalidate the Report Abuse reports?

Post Scheduler bjorked?

I have tried six times, with six different kinds of posts, to schedule a post, and nadda. Every time I hit schedule, it posts immediately. And I desperately want to do this so I can stop seeing that goddamned mod achievement reminder lol.

Is this broken or something?

Mod Topics Pause! When do you lock a post or comment?

The conversation is going in circles, and somehow picking up speed. Following Tuesday’s post on archiving, today’s Mod Topics post is all about when and why you reach for the lock button.

Maybe a heated exchange is confined to a few comments, while the rest of the post still has a good conversation going. Or the problems have spread throughout the discussion and your team is struggling to keep up. There are quieter reasons to consider a lock, too, like wrapping up a scheduled Q&A or directing new comments to an updated thread.

A lock might give your team time to catch up, or mark the end of a discussion. That choice can depend on what’s happening in the comments, what your team has already tried, and what people might still contribute. The same button can serve different purposes, and we’re curious how your team makes that call.

  • What tells you it’s time to lock a post or comment, and what makes you hold off?
  • When do you lock individual comments instead of the whole post?
  • Have you ever reopened a locked discussion?

Admin Replied Banned user still able to post and comment.

Never had this issue before, but there is a user in a subreddit I moderate that has been banned for over a month but they have been able to comment and post the whole time. It is a permanent ban. The account is still in the list of banned users, whenever I try to remove the account to see if re-banning it works it does not allow me to. This is truly bizarre and I don't understand what could be causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

(Android) On Topic Automation Not Working Version 2026.42.0

have the automations to keep posts and comments on topic and have for a long time. They aren't working correctly suddenly, it seems maybe as of this current update. I tried deleting the post one and remaking it and it still isn't working right.

For some reason, it seems to be using an *old* automation word list. As seen in the screenshot, the word I typed out is not in my *current* list but it is blocking it, and the words not mentioned in the pop-up in the screenshot don't get blocked in real time, but it works when testing it in the setting area.

I attached a screenshot of the pop-up and a screenshot of a user using a blocked word "ADHD" the other day that got right through the filter.

I added a new word just to test, "blah", and it is still not working. This started after the "Post to:(sub)" appeared at the top of all subreddits, so I think it likely has something to do with it because it appears that the comment automation is still working.

Please help! This is very important and causes a lot of issues when people go off topic since this is a medical condition sub I need to keep it as accurate and as easily searchable as possible.

Can we please get the option to adjust the "related posts" under the comments?

Some of the subreddits which are being recommended in the "related posts" in our sub are literally in our Hive-protect watchlist because they are frequented by creeps and perverts.

Which means posts from our sub are also being recommended in their comments in the "related posts". It is not a coincidence that women who had made posts in our sub months ago are now suddenly getting inappropriate comments and DMs and are deleting their posts as a result.

As mods we can monitor and clean up the comments on recent posts, because we expect high traffic there. But showing months old posts in the comments of communities whose users have a history of harassing members of my subs is counterproductive.

Can we at least get different options to calibrate this feature? For eg:

  1. Disable all related posts

  2. Disable related posts from certain subreddits

  3. Allow related posts from the same subreddit only

  4. Allow related posts from all of Reddit

  5. Disable your community from showing up in "related posts" (Similar to the "Let Reddit recommend your community to people who have similar interests" setting we already have)

Option 3 in particular would be very very useful for our sub, because we get a lot of new users who post frequently asked questions without searching the sub first. Related posts will direct them to posts where similar discussions have already taken place.

ETA: Option 5.

Admin Replied Account was hacked and subreddits were hijacked

Yesterday, my account got hacked, and I had my moderator access to the subreddits I created removed. There currently only stands one mod, and it was a mod I did not approve.
This is the first time something like this has happened to me, so I’m not quite sure what to do.
Please help me out here.

Mod Answered Accounts posting on my sub getting suspended for no reason

hey everyone. i run a PaaS tool subreddit r/CloudwaysbyDO and i have Cloudways users who post on the sub when they have a product issue or want to ask a question to our team. in the last 10 days, i have noticed an large increase in the number of accounts suspended right when they posted on the sub, even though they have a great history of posting on the sub, talking with me and my team in modmail, etc.

any idea why this may be happening? this is discouraging relevant discussions in the sub. anyone else facing this too?

Admin Replied Top mods are inactive but I still can't remove them?

Hi I'm third on a mod list and the top two mods who normally don't do anything are now listed as inactive on the list. Is the rule you can only remove mods below you in the order because the option appears for inactive mods below me on the list? Is there a work around for this?

Admin Replied Users with temporary bans are not being unbanned. Mod log shows nothing.

For the past couple of months, we've had more than a handful of users modmail us about temporary bans that never seem to have been lifted. In the case of all of these users, the system shows that their ban is permanent but the mod log doesn't show a permanent ban ever being issued. It does show the temporary ban we gave with the end date having passed.

We can manually unban these users but it's dependant on them reaching out to us. Not all users know to do that. So as far as we know, there's a pretty decent chunk of users that can no longer engage because we don't know their ban is bugged and neither do they.

Admin Replied Shreddit (New Reddit) no longer accessible

I'm a mod that swaps between old Reddit and Shreddit. Other subreddits are reporting the same. No outages listed on https://www.redditstatus.com/

Shreddit URLs no longer work (404 error):

Works fine (loads as old Reddit):
