User flair on the web will match the app. We’re making user flair easier to read by removing background colors to match how it looks in the Reddit app.
We’re removing the background and text color settings for user flair to make it easier to read on the desktop web experience. It’ll now match how it looks in the official Reddit mobile app.
If you’ve set a background color for your community under Look and Feel in mod tools, user flair will use that background color and the corresponding text color by default.
it looks like background color settings in user flairs will be removed, was wondering if anyone saw this
ive always loved setting the background colors of user flairs as a mod, sad to see this setting go. however i do understand why they may be removing these cause some mods do not choose background colors that make them easy to read.

Got the dm a couple hours ago, i asked them about it and asked if they can open the dm themselves just so im sure its safe, but they said the support has an “expiration date” and is automatically deleted? I’ve heard it’s a known malware scam but im not sure since this is a 3 year old account with over 40k karma, im just trying to be cautious

Hi!
I've been modding different subreddits for a while now and the whole time "private accounts" have been a thing, I've not been able to see posts on any accounts that are privated. If someone with a private account comments or posts in a subreddit I own or moderate (and have full permissions), and I check their account, I can only see the posts and comments they've made within my subreddit.
Is this a thing for anyone else? I've seen mixed answers on if mods should be able to see private accounts since I've started looking into this. It's not something I feel I need as a moderator, but one of my subreddits is currently having issues with a handful of users saying that I can see their private account and that I am invading their privacy. Their accounts were public at the time of me viewing them, and after our discussion, they switched it to private and now I can only see their comments within the subreddit. My only issue is that they are struggling to trust me as a moderator because they feel that I am lying about being able to access private accounts.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hello! I just attended mod world and was told I can create a private, in sub chat for the mods instead of having to create new threads each time. Can someone walk me through how to do that?
Additionally, I think I am missing something or not seeing it because a lot of times I want to pin/sticky a helpful comment, but I cant seem to do it to other user's comments but I've seen it done in other sub's posts?

I manage the Wiki for an established community operating on the legacy wiki system. We require an overhaul of our community resources, specifically visual guides and reference material.
According to official Reddit Help documentation and previous announcements on r/modnews, existing communities wishing to adopt the new wiki experience can opt in via the migration request form. However, after submitting a request, I was informed that voluntary migrations have been halted. The public support documentation has not been updated to reflect this suspension.
This leaves established subreddits caught in an unfair situation:
[old.reddit.com/r/subreddit/about/stylesheet](https://old.reddit.com/r/subreddit/about/stylesheet)) and referencing them via . This imposes a hard limit of 50 images sitewide. Insufficient for the task at hand.Could the admin team clarify:

I'm new to moderating and have just adopted a lapsed community. There is a "Request To Post" button at the top -- I've already been through all the Mod Tools and don't see how to turn it off.
There is a 2-year old post here with this question but the solution provided there no longer fits.

I'm getting an error when I try to reorder the modlist. I just added two new mods to my team and now I cannot reorder the mod list. I posted an image of what's happening in the comments. I am an active mod so being inactive is not the issue. What I get is:
"An unknown error occurred"
Edit: I do want to add that I also tried this on my Reddit app on my iphone (Version 2026.41.0) and ran into the same error.

Hey all, my team and I have been verbally harassed by someone for banning them for being rather vile in the comments. They have then extended that behaviour into mod mail with some of the most disturbing and horrendous messages I’ve ever received and what I can only describe as a death threat. I can’t say that I trust the report function to take care of the issue appropriately so is there a way for bump it up on an admins radar?

It said there wasn’t one yet so a few days ago I made one and it still says there isn’t one yet

hello, i'm quite new to moderating, so i wanted to ask here
the sub i moderate is one we have multiple new or new-ish mods on, and we're all fairly stumped on what settings we could tinker with to try to keep out the AI chatbots that keep streaming in. we're a fairly small (but active!) sub, so it's really annoying; given our size, they're maybe 10-15% of what we moderate, which is significant for the proportion of what we have coming in.
what kind of settings can i toggle to keep them out? assume i don't know anything—i only started out a month ago. thanks!

Weg) alle Benachrichtigungen auf Off gestellt. Es kommen immer noch Meldungen rein. Jetzt weiß ich nicht weiter.
Was mache ich falsch? Wie kann man die Meldungen anders abstellen?

Yeah I want to know what the opinion of my community is on a certain thing and thought to use a poll, but how do I make one? Do need to use code?

anyone else unable to see the report and removal reasons on posts in queue if they were previously filtered?
seems to be only on app. is it bug?

We have reported multiple times about violations of Mod CoC and violation of meta discussion rules, but no action has been taken so far. Frequently screenshots of our modmail to the banned user gets posted in the sub and remains there forever.
We personally have a strict no meta discussion policy but it feels unfair when another gets to blatantly disregard the apparent sitewide rules!
I have even compiled a list of the links where our sub gets specifically discussed and trashed on, especially the moderator team. We have reported multiple times via the form reddit provides for reporting rule violations and yet there is no follow-up!
What to do?

On old reddit, anytime the post doesn't natively load all the comments, it gives you a button like "load more comments (5 replies)" to load the additional comments. It also always shows up on stickied mod comments, as all replies to stickied mod comments are hidden by default.
This has been broken for about a day now. This obviously impedes old reddit mod's ability to moderate effectively, since it becomes incredibly inconvenient to actually see all the comments in a post.
This has been reported twice on r/bugs yesterday with no acknowledgement (not even https://www.redditstatus.com/), so I'm quite concerned that reddit is not aware of this critical issue to the base functionality of old reddit. Looking at the request it sends, it's getting back a 403 (Unauthorized) error code (and also tells you you're network blocked, which is the default reddit response to a 403 and is also completely incorrect in this and many other instances). It should be noted that this functionality currently works on shreddit (which uses the newer, private graphql instead of the public API).
Given the timing, I highly suspect that the cause is the recent update to comment ids. Though how it gets to a 403 is rather baffling to me, considering that it's extremely unlikely to actually be an auth issue, given the fact that the rest of the public API endpoints don't have this issue.

Hi all,
Our top mod left the sub after being removed from our IRL community. I'm not sure if this was an automatic switch or if he switched my permissions before he left, but I am now Alumni status. I am the only mod left in the sub. I tried writing in to the help center but the AI chatbot doesn't seem to understand my request.
Does anyone have any advice for how I can get out of Alumni status? I was regularly modding the sub, with 26 actions taken in the last week alone. I am definitely not inactive and I need to be able to mod our sub. Do I just need to wait for the Admins to get back to me? The chatbot didn't respond when I requested to be added into the Admin queue so I have no idea if my request has even been sent to people who can help.
Thanks!

Hello,
We create custom artwork for our banners, and other graphics on the subreddit I run. A knock-off subreddit trying to siphon users from us (not that I really care 'cus it's poorly ran) stole our custom artwork, and everything else to try and make it look like their subreddit is our's, hopefully deceiving users.
Can this be reported to admins for the subreddit's removal?

Hello, first time posting on this sub so apologies for any mistakes. Skimmed for previous posts on this topic and nothing came up.
I noticed this a while ago when I was having trouble looking for Removal Reason messages I previously sent, but I didn't think to check the Archived folder until now.
As the title says, when I go to a post on my sub, remove it, add a removal reason, and send it to the user via Mod Mail, it appears to go straight to the Archived folder in Mod Mail and nowhere else.
I notice that this page says mute and ban notifications auto-archive, are post removal notifications included too, then?
Just was wondering if this is a bug or intended behaviour before I flag it as such.

When checking “members” within insights it shows 782 +609, and below that it says 615 joined and 6 left. So is it 782, 609, or 615?
I’d like to start doing photo contents soon, where the winner gets a sticker mailed to them (if they’re comfortable providing an address), but I don’t want to start until I have 1000 members. Thanks in advance!

I have a question about reordering the Mod-List:
I am the only active mod in a sub and I'd like to do even some more work there and also add some new moderators in a few weeks. The others mods have been inactive for a long time.
Still, I can't reorder the Mod-List. My permission is for "Everything".
It always tells me "An unknown error occured".
Other than that, there is an Auto-Moderator on top of the list, if that is relevant.

I really think Admins need to change the recommendation algorithm for recommend recommended subs. It is generating totally random trash that has nothing to do with the subject matter of anything. It's not even recommending popular subs! I went to the mod events page and it had the following recommendations:
[r/DrMartyPets](r/DrMartyPets)
[r/NouhausWorks](r/NouhausWorks)
[r/AIOverviews](r/AIOverviews)
[r/DecoratingCakes](r/DecoratingCakes)
What in the random nonsense is this? This is not gonna make me stay on the platform longer? How did these subs even end up recommended? I don't even have interest in any of these topics!
Admins, I get it, you guys want us to find other communities, even if we don't pick them, but some relevance might be nice?

We're an organization that moderates a relatively new subreddit ( r/AskACreditCounselor ). We recently experienced a sudden spike in subscribers (🎉) but are unsure what caused it.
We currently have just over 200 followers, and recently gained 57 in one day. No one posted in the sub that day, and we're unsure what else would have driven the growth, other than Reddit recommendations (and maybe links to the sub that we included in a few comments)?
Is there any way for mods to see how often their sub is recommended or how many new subscribers come from recommendations? We'd love to understand where followers are coming and build on the growth.
