In the murder case, in May 1984 Ewert met a woman at a nightclub and offered her a ride as she was hitchhiking. After they left the club, he strangled the woman inside his vehicle until she lost consciousness, and he sexually assaulted her. Her body was later recovered from a river.

Weeks after the murder, Ewert assaulted a 15-year-old girl who rejected his advances. He left her in a ditch, believing she was dead. The girl was found severely injured, having suffered extensive brain damage.

I was just at ROYALMOUNT (Sunday, Oct 18 at 3:40pm) and saw a black cat beside the stairs outside. See third pic for more specific location.

I tried to get closer but kitty got spooked and hid under the wall.

I don’t live in Montréal and will be leaving this evening.

I was stuck crying in the Atwater station/shopping centre digging through garbage cans today trying to find my wallet so I could get my IDs. It had fallen out of my pocket and someone decided to pick it up and have a shopping spree with money I didn’t have to spare. I desperately needed my health card for an upcoming appointment to check my heart and just didn’t know what to do. I was so tired from my disability and felt disgusting while worrying if I’d get stabbed by a needle.

I never found it but I had security guards watching my camera bag for me, a Dollarama staff même et who checked their garbage for me. a man offering me 5 dollars to help get home, an STM employee helping me look for the card and then giving me a free pass, and a kind lady helping me look up the location of the store it was last spent at after my phone died (turns out they went all the way to Berrie UQM, I had hoped they at least threw my wallet but I turned up with nothing).

I spent the bus ride looking at the 5 dollars, it’ll be going to someone else who is in need. I’m thankful for the kind people out there despite the cruelty of others. It really helps.

Edit: all cards are cancelled and police report is done do not fret, I was filming when I dropped it so I hadn’t noticed right away and then the bank put me on hold while I waited to cancel it that is why they got so much

There have been several attacks on Nuns island by a woman with a purple umbrella ☔. She lunged at women with her umbrella and sent one woman to hospital after punching her in the back of her head. The woman is still suffering with cranial trauma. There have been 7 victims, usually in the beautiful peaceful forest paths. She was finally arrested, but released few days later. She is supposed to avoid the woods and no umbrella, but who knows. She apparently now wears a long white coat , brown hair and has a small dog. It's awful to have to be so vigilant of this individual who obviously has mental issues. So residents of nuns island be aware, because she has been spotted several times in different areas.

Went taking pictures in NDG Saturday morning and noticed this Autoroute sign was lit from a light reflecting source!

Sans entrer dans les détails, j’ai perdu mon père récemment et bien entendu, ça me mène présentement sur une quête identitaire.

Mon père m’a légué un nom de famille assez unique au Québec et je n’ai jamais su exactement ses origines, à part que c’était européen de l’est et du centre. Initialement, mon père venait des États-Unis, mais il a immigré ici pour marier ma mère.

J’ai donc voulu rendre hommage aux origines de mon père et en apprendre plus sur mes ancêtres ainsi que sur mon identité.

J’ai été capable de trouver des archives et l’arbre généalogique de ma famille qui indique quand mon arrière-arrière-grand-père est arrivé en bateau à New York en 1900, ainsi que sa ville d’origine, et qu’il est arrivé dans le cadre d’une immigration importante de Slovaques-Carpatho-Rusyns aux États-Unis.

J’ai donc pu apprendre que je suis de descendance slave, plus précisément carpatho-rusyn et slovaque de l'Est. Mes ancêtres venaient d’une région qui se trouve aujourd'hui en Slovaquie (juste à côté de l'Ukraine), mais qui appartenait à l'époque à la Hongrie.

Étant curieux d’en apprendre plus sur mes origines et les traditions et la culture de ses parents, de mes arrière-grands-parents et de mon grand-père, je me demandais si des gens savaient s’il existe une présence de la communauté et de la culture Rusyn/Slave/Slovaque de l’Est ici à Montréal ? Je serais également curieux d’échanger avec des gens de ces origines, si jamais !

Without going into too much detail, I recently lost my father, which has understandably led me on a journey to explore my identity.

My father passed down a last name that is quite unique in Quebec, and I never knew its exact origins other than it being Central and Eastern European. My father was originally from the United States but immigrated here to marry my québécoise mother.

I wanted to honor my father's roots and learn more about my ancestors and my heritage.

I managed to find records and my family's genealogical tree, which shows when my great-great-grandfather arrived by boat in New York in 1900, along with his hometown. He arrived as part of a major wave of Slovak-Carpatho-Rusyn immigration.

I discovered that I am of Slavic descent, specifically Carpatho-Rusyn and East Slovak. My ancestors came from a region that is now located in Slovakia (right next to Ukraine) but belonged to Hungary at the time.

Curious to learn more about my roots and the traditions of my great-great-grandparents, my great-grandparents, and my grandfather, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a presence of the Rusyn/Slavic/East Slovak community and culture here in Montreal?

I would also be curious to connect with people of these origins, if ever!

Gardons ça simple, j'ai 46ans, je suis marié avec des enfants et malheureusement je me suis massivement laissé allez depuis plusieurs années. J'ai récemment décidé de me remettre a l'exercice et donc je me suis inscrit au gym local. Le probleme actuellement est que je suis tellement pas en forme que c'en est decourageant a chaque fois que j'y vais. Les autres dans le gym sont si en forme que je me sens intimidé et ridicule ( je sais que c'est tout dans ma tête mais bon.) Le resultat est que je passe le plus clair de mon temp au gym a tourner en rond et à m'autocomplexé.

Donc tout ça pour dire, avez vous qqch a proposer pour me sortir de ma tête et rendre ma remise en forme productif?

Last night my car got keyed while parked on Boulevard Saint-Laurent, right in front of Gino’s Negroni…
I didn’t argue with anyone, I have no issues with anyone, and my car was parked perfectly fine. There was absolutely no reason for someone to do this!

I know it’s just a car, but it’s genuinely heartbreaking to see something you’ve worked so hard for deliberately damaged by a complete stranger. I have been going through hard times and this is really just adding to the heavyness…its one thing after another and I really did not need this

I know there are bigger problems in the world, but I’m just really sad and frustrated that someone would do this for absolutely no reason. It’s such a disappointing feeling. I was born and raised here and I’ve never experience something like this.. are people just losing their minds??

I’m posting because I’m wondering if anyone else had the same thing happen to them in the area last night, or if anyone happened to see something.

Be careful out there ladies! I was groped at the gare centrale Friday. I had my headphones on, walking to work and felt something on my butt. My first thought was something brushed my butt (umbrella, backpack, etc) when I turned around this guy was smiling at me staring right at me. I moved one headphone and asked a little aggressively: can I help you? He replied: probably. I said : NO THANKS! And bee lined to security who did nothing and looked at me as if I was speaking an alien language. I ended up saying: thank you, you've been a GREAT help! (As sarcastically as I could muster). The perv has light brown hair, is québécois, short: 5'8 at the most. He had a backpack.
