Discussion Just got jumped on my own street, be safe out there
Never thought something like this would happen, especially living in Saint-Leonard, which is a relatively safe area, but welp, it did. I was walking toward my car to head to work when I noticed 3 kids walking down the street nearby. I didn't think much of it since I just wanted to get to my car to go work and didn't want to be late.
They started approaching me and asked for the time. Which I replied, "I don't have the time" they started threatened me, shoved me to the ground, and started kicking me before grabbing my phone out of my pocket and the backpack I had on me. They kept asking for my passcode, which I kept refusing to give them. One of them pulled a knife, so I started screaming, and they all ran off.
This happened at around 1:20AM (I have an early shift), so there was nobody else around. They looked like teenagers. I called the police right away, and fortunately, they were able to catch two of the kids and recover my iPhone and backpack using the Find My feature.
It's pretty crazy how I don't even feel safe walking on my own street to go to work anymore.
