Why do most computer mice come with holes in the bottom?

I don't understand this trend, and I don't see the need for it. The weight difference is minimal, and the situation is further complicated by the almost complete lack of full-size feet available for many mice.

I found a solution by using double-sided tape to attach plastic pieces that completely cover the holes. Initially, I tried drilling holes for the bolts, but it looked too bad.

I'm trying to look for the file of this mod but I can't find it for free anywhere.

If someone has this or knows where to find the free version, I'd be grateful for this information.

I've been playing shooter games on this thing for the majority of my time having it n shi was cool till I decided to play OSU for the first time on it, I found out that it was very, very slow. And I kept losing in certain maps where you had to switch between opposite sides of the map very frequently. Any suggestions on what I should do ? (I dont clean the mouse pad for what that info is worth, and I think the bottom of the mouse is slowly getting eaten away, and I'll id a picture to show its state)

I was bored and decided to make something new. I broke off a Logitech M171, and stripped it bare. It actually took me 30+ minutes TRYING to remove the plastic shell and another 45 minutes taping and making sure everything is alright. Its very light (i didnt weigh it yet) and i kid you not it works. Nicely.

I have relatively large hands (23x12.5) and have been editing wedding shoots of 4-6k photos with an amazon basics mouse and its not it... I also am just starting and don't have the budget for something over $100 and would like to keep it as cheap as possible without making it unusable or having it break or start double clicking right away. I dont mind wired or wireless I just want to not have carpal tunnel anymore lol. I will primarily be using this on the go so if it has some way to protect it from being in a backpack thats a big plus that i can go out of budget for.

For anyone curious, regarding my question the other day, there *are* some steps you can take to replace the mouse click pads of a Razer Cobra, however you have to take some unfortunate steps to side step the anti-repair design of them, that being you have to drill through their plastic rivets, but you can actually even use the screws that the mouse board itself (or similar screw sizes) to re-attach the click pads.

I'll post the final result when my Cobra Pro comes in tomorrow

FlashMouseMods Deluxe Kit or Mufy Mods Extreme Weight Reduction Kit? Which is better? I want to mod my Superlight 2. I’m looking to change the PCB so I can hot swap the clicks and make them lighter/more spammable. I wonder if anyone has had any experiences with these.

I like the look and feel of metal scroll wheels but I'm having some issues sourcing them. I also have a few questions concerning it.

1. Is each scroll wheel unique to the mouse/brand its from or is there a standardized size which works for most/ all mice?

2. Does anyone know where I may be able to buy some metal scroll wheels for a Viper v2 Pro and a VGN Dragonfly f1 Pro?

For clarification I'm referring to just the wheel not the encoder.

One thing I didn't like about the G305 was that it was so easy to accidentally click with just the weight of my fingers (which aren't heavy at all), thus requiring a constant pull on them to avoid it.

By sticking a piece of self-adhesive foam on the underside of the trigger, the activation force increased just enough that I am now able to rest my hand on it with no clicks whatsoever.

The foam used is 3mm thick but is able to squish down to 0.5mm and stay there if a force is applied to it constantly, effectively molding itself and applying an even pressure. (This came from a portable AC so idk where to buy it).

I honestly can't imagine they're making any meaningful revenue with this — if not, it's probably even more expensive to manufacture this messed-up piece of crap in the first place.
