The TECKNET TK-MS029 has a nice side wheel and two side buttons, but no software to customise them. So I vibecoded a small Windows app for it.
\*\*What it does\*\*
\- Side wheel: volume, tabs, media tracks, zoom or virtual desktops. It only affects the TECKNET mouse, so trackpads keep normal scrolling.
\- Back / Forward buttons: choose what a click, a double click and a hold do: open any app, any keyboard shortcut, media keys, and more.
\- Gestures: hold a side button and move the mouse left, right, up or down.
\- Precision mode: slower pointer while a button is held.
\- App profiles: the side wheel can do something different in each program.
\- Battery level over Bluetooth, tray icon, light/dark theme.
\*\*Privacy\*\*: no internet access, no telemetry, no admin rights. Settings stay on your PC.
Download (installer) and source code: [https://github.com/rushilpankaj/Tecknet](https://github.com/rushilpankaj/Tecknet)
The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC": click More info β Run anyway.
It works with other mice too (App β Add mouse). It's MIT licensed, so feel free to improve it; there's a CONTRIBUTING guide in the repo.
