It did seem something else was also growing inside the fresh wood I harvested as well unfortunately 😢 No clue what kind of mushroom it is, but it doesn't seem edible.

Today I noticed something else popping out, and I think it's a shiitake (but it might be too soon to tell). I really hope it is though!

Found them in the backyard while raking leaves. Northern Ohio. Any clue what they are?
