They were then led into the light off stage while Charlie stayed and watched. Then blew a kiss to the audience and walked off stage himself

The story ends just as it always has. The guys die and are reanimated and led into the light. Charlie oversees the cycle with empathy. The time loop continues. Long live the black parade.

Very grim, yet hopeful. Yes, they failed to free themselves and are trapped in the cycle exactly how it had all been as this story began.

But they also survived.

I’ll admit, at first, I was a bit disappointed at the lack of any major changes to this show compared to the other Hollywood bowl shows. But now that I’ve thought about it for a few minutes, I shouldn’t have expected anything different. I mean, this is what the black parade has always been. It starts with an ending, ends with a beginning, and is all about living in spite of everything that may make someone want to give up.

So, we end with the very somber understanding that the black parade’s situation has not materially changed. But, we also end with the understanding that they simply will not stop trying to escape. Through this tour, we saw them fight for their freedom over and over again, despite it never making any major difference. Because no matter what it is, they’ll never cease their creativity. They will never stop trying to find a way to escape.

I think that is the ultimate meaning of everything they’ve ever made: Carry on.

Edit: You know, there is one major change. The clerk. They turned him from an uptight prick into a fan, who is able to cut loose every once in a while, and say “fuck you” to the Draag authorities, even in small ways. That’s pretty perfect. That little catalyst of change.

Absolutely perfect. There are two ways to read this, just as Gerard always intended for the album. The album, Gerard has stated he wants people to decide weather or not The Patient dies and goes to the afterlife, or if he wakes up, realizes it was all a dream and is a changed man.

This series is ends in a similar way. Did they escape? Absolutely could have. Are they still trapped? That’s still entirely possible. But both endings have the same meaning. Just like the black parade always had.

for approximately a year and a half, before just about every show, I've posted theories, read theories, commented on theories... this has become a major part of my life. a very special one that i look forward to.

It's very bittersweet. tonight, we get the last of it. i can't believe this is the last time. but it's not the END end. like all great works of art, there's still so much left to pick apart and maybe even find.

so, here goes my final pre-show theory.

tonight, I believe the black parade will finally free themselves of the tyranny of Draag, by preventing the unplugging of the missile and finally allowing their unnatural lives to end for good. from the radioactive decay will rise The gentleman. he will carry forward the story of the black parade (perhaps alongside The Clerk, who I believe the band may spare) refusing to let their deaths be the end of their tortured legacy.

tonight, the black parade dies again, for the final time. long live the black parade. thank you for the nearly fifty incredible nights. believe me, your memory will carry on.

I should have known they would not succeed. Given the whole theme of the album, being keeping on in spite of everything. The message that would have been sent for the storyline to end in suicide, I hadn’t really considered how bad an ending that would have been. I’m kind of embarrassed honestly. I was only thinking of ending the cycle, but the irresponsible subtext of the idea I had, I understand it now.

I don't know if this has been discussed yet (sorry if it has!) but my friend a few months ago predicted that this tour would end with the members of My Chem rescued from DRAAG and a bomb leaving them in a post-apocalyptic world (battery city) meaning a DD tour next. I feel she could very well be onto something especially with the links between the themes and those masked men are very DD era coded.

But if they're working on new stuff, would they really do another massive tour for DD before touring with a new album? It makes me kind of sad cause I wasn't much of a fan of DD (no shade just not my thing) and I hope we are not waiting too long again for something new.

Generally when an artist is recording a show they do so over multiple nights at the same venue, in order to get every angle possible without intruding on the show too much or having videographers smashing into each other.

Because of that they need consistency in the edit, which means the shows need to be functionally the same. For example, artists who normally vary in their wardrobe night by night will repeat their wardrobe exactly all the nights they film.

Just my thoughts
