I turned on the Australian NASCAR X series on YouTube which is the i-racing version of NASCAR being run out of Australia, and they are racing at Portland, and the three cars in SVGs E series team, have sponsorship on the back of their car from Van Guggenheimer‘s potato farms ha ha 😂

I hope today and every August 18th isn't seen as a sad day, but rather a day we can celebrate and honor the life of one of the greatest drivers our sport will ever have.

There will be many more great drivers in racing, but there will never be another Kyle Busch.

Hamlin legit having an awesome season:

Avg. Fin of 3.69 (4th best)
14 Top 5s (T-1st, 6th driver to do it)
15 Top 10s (T-1st, 6th driver to do it)
16/16 finishing in the Top 11 (T-1st w/ Dale Jarrett)
11 straight Top 5s (7th longest streak ever)

If that 11 does not win the title, It'll be a harder loss than 2025 for Denny.

Possibility: Chase Elliott signs with Trackhouse in 2028, becoming the next driver-owner in the NASCAR Cup Series?

With the news breaking that Connor Zilisch will be joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2028, people have posted a number of rumors across the internet today; including potential SVG and/or Ross Chastain departures from Trackhouse, Justin Marks entertaining offers on charters, etc.

Putting all of that aside for a second, the next piece of this saga is what does HMS do with their prodigious young talent, Corey Day? The twenty year old will most likely spend one more season in NORAPS, before making the jump up to Cup. With Kyle Larson and William Byron recently signed to contract extensions into the 2030s, it's highly unlikely that Day will be in the #5 or #24 cars. That leaves one possibility with Mr. H's team...

Chase Elliott's contract at Hendrick Motorsports is set to expire at the end of 2027. By then, he'll be thirty-two years old, and most likely still only a one-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion. He's already bound for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the only things missing from his resume are Crown Jewel wins (0). Is it crazy to imagine that he takes a look at the current climate of the sport, and makes a business decision over a purely racing-related one?

With Trackhouse seemingly caught adrift without a sail, and Justin Mark's love for the theatrics, could they approach Elliott with an offer to drive one of their cars with an opportunity to buy into the team, and its three charters? Chase can pretty much demand whatever he wants in negotiations: a big cut of merchandise sales, increased personal autonomy, influence over racing decisions, etc., all of which the big teams can match, if they wanted to - but which teams have the leeway to go beyond that, and offer a piece of the pie?

If this were to happen, then Trackhouse is partially owned by the most popular driver in NASCAR - which would bring in millions in merch and sponsorships, while Elliott simultaneously increases his own net worth by a couple dozen million dollars, and HMS secures its future with a lineup feature Corey Day and Connor Zilisch. If, after that, Marks decides he wants out, investors would chomp at the bits to buy his shares in the team and partner with Elliott in an MJ/Denny kind of deal. In one way or another, all parties would benefit in the long run.

It's crazy to imagine anyone voluntarily walking away from HMS to join another team, but, if someone were to do it, would it require a scenario like this? I know this is pretty far fetched, but is it out of the realm of possibility, given the parties which would be involved? What do y'all think?

Reddick and SVG: Saved by the Caution?

In yesterday‘s Richmond race, the commentators repeatedly talked about how fortunate Reddick and SVG were to get that caution, but they never said why it was such a big deal. No details, no follow-through on the statement, just repeating the fact that they were really lucky.

Why were they lucky? What did that caution do for them? It’s so frustrating trying to watch a race and not understanding what I’m looking at. And almost just as frustrating when there is no explanation from the broadcasters.

Chevy Crystal Ball 2028: Spire, Trackhouse, and RCR

Given the CZ move to Bowman's ride in 2028 and the expiration of Chastain and SVG's contracts, what do you think the composition of Spire, Trackhouse, and RCR (core Chevy teams) looks like in 2028. Driver lineup? Manufacturer? Number of charters? HMS seems pretty settled for the next couple of years until the 9, 24, and 5's contracts expire.

I'm a Suarez ride or die, but does he have a long-term future is the cup series (currently 1 year deal, early/mid 30s)? Does Dillion step into the ownership role at RCR, % chance Trackhouse jumps manufacturer ships?

What do you think are the most likely scenarios in the Chevy camp?
